hey, just letting everyone in this community know i started a community called [livejournal.com profile] ramshackle - it is a community to post auctions/trades/sales/etc...and i was thinking that since so many people in here create such nice stuff, perhaps you would like to join and sell some of your things through the community. :)

while i've been on my updating tangents i have been adding TONS of new catagories.
it seems in this community that crafts and ideas come in waves and i just want to point out some of the catagories i have recently added.
[because they're popular - but also because a lot of them are really fun and are probably going to be very helpful for you guys]

so here goes...

~ image hosting/web design software [these are awesome resources for us - thank you to the posters of these topics]

~ nifty crafting ideas and tips - random but a lot are really cool

~ button/pin making & selling - been VERY popular lately

~ slipcovers/furniture covers - not too many in here but it has been popular

~ transfer paper/t shirt transfer

~ screen printing/silk screening

~ random crafty projects - keep checking here. this is all the misc projects that are really cool. i add projects to this thread daily. i think there is 32 in there right now.

I bought this fabric ages ago for making pyjamas for my boyfriend...heehee he is a big cookie monster fan [i reckon he's one himself..]
This is what i made out the fabric i had leftover. Its a real good idea to use up the scraps this way!

By the way, also want to thank everyone that responded to my question concerning what to do with the quilt i made. I have decided to not make it into cushions [though that was my top choice from the suggestions] or into a throw. It seemed such a pity to not have it as a blanket so i will be buying more material and enlarging the quilt till it is a proper adult queen sized blanket quilt. [so far it is still a child sized blanket] Will post the pics whenever i finally get done [dont know when] Thanks again!

Tonight I made a clock out of a record. I don't have pics yet, but I'll try and explain it. Its really simple!
All you need is a record, clock parts (I bought mine in a package from Michaels for 6 dollars), and some clock numbers.
Now, I had to stick a match in the hole in the record because it was a little too small to fit the shaft of the clock (where the hands are attatched to). I just let the match make it soft for a few seconds and then pushed through with my finger to make the hole a tad bigger.
The all I had to do was stick the clock shaft through, put the hands on, oh and stick on the self adhesive numbers and voila. I now have a late x-mas gift for my musically inclined friend.
The longest part was rooting around in the garage for old records.
