this is a hard subject to find things on, so i'll share what i've found

halfway down the page, wraparound shirt

to make the one kelly was wearing on the osbournes tonight (the i love new york halter), you just need a t-shirt that has the sleeves sewn on diagonally from the collar down the front and back of the shoulder. cut these sleeves at the seam, leaving a bit extra at the collar for strength that can be sewn or fused under.

t-skirt and t-scrunchies

maternity shirt

t-shirt and tape bodice (cooler than it sounds!)

hi. i thought that i would post these. i made a messanger bag out of a pair of courderoys, and a tiny purse with the leg of a pair of jeans, plus the pocket. see below for pictures, and feel free to ask any questions.

I have these hunter-green doc-look-alike boots that i want to paint.
they are pleather. actually, more of a rubber/vinyly material..
how do you paint vinyl/pleather/rubber material? i need something thats waterproof, won*t stiffen the pleather too much, and won*t fleck or rub off much.

any suggestions for name brands, paint types, or stores is greatly appreciated. thanks!

Ok, so I had some old AOL cds, and I broke them up all to heck and have little bits of them, sorta like glitter, but with large chunks. Anyone have any good ideas of what I can do with them?

hey, i know this may not be appropriate for this community, but i thought some people here may be into it... there is a new comm called [livejournal.com profile] bandphotos , dedicated to the art of band photography, and new members are desperately needed ^^. i guess photography can be considered crafty, so i hope this isn't too horribly off topic. if it is, feel free to delete this post, but i hope some people will check out the community tho ^^
thanks

Just in time for Valentines day... you can take a large drink container like Hi-C or Hawaiian Punch, (those have really wide mouths) wash it out and fill it up (after it dries) with paper shreds, candy, little trinkets, etc....then put the lid back on, throw a piece of tape over the lid and mail it just like that.....put a label on side to address it and you're done! I've mailed these, or a rolled up love note in a 20 oz bottle (make sure you can still get it out of the mouth of the bottle by putting a rubber-band around it.
*****Just in time for Valentines Day******** Imagine getting one of these in the mail!

hey all.
I'm trying to make my craft-incompitent friend one of those beaded wall hanging thingies that people stick over their doorways for privacy (I'm sure you've all seen them... most of them are tiki or 60's psychedelic themed). She's moving away to Maryland (I live on the west coast) so instead of just beads I want to put on photos which have been laminated. Does anyone know HOW to make one of these curtains or where I can buy a laminating/sticker machine?

Here's a purse I made today. It's made out of a record album cover and vinyl with a bead handle. I'm not happy with the handle, but I'll have to go to the craft store before I can fix it.

I've been lookin' for mirrors that I can just slice up into shapes for a while.
I don't know if any of you have seen, but Ikea has those wavey mirrors and I LOVE them. Cept...they're too expensive.

Do you think it's possible to just use an xacto knife and cut a mirror? For example those cheap locker mirrors? ...Dollar stores usually have plain mirrors right? Would they work?

I wanna make it look like this for example :

*the white part = the mirror ;)*

Two questions:

I want to make my boyfriend something for Valentine's Day, and my budget is so small as to be almost non-existent. I have a good bit of yarn and fabric of various kinds already, though, and a few other crafty items. I can sew and crochet quite well... I have a few things in mind, but I'm looking for other ideas. For Christmas I crocheted him a hat, and he really likes it and wears it a lot. I considered making some gloves, since I saw a pattern here that I liked recently, or maybe another hat or a scarf, but that isn't very romantic, is it? Any ideas?

And also, my boyfriend was raised by his grandparents, and they have always been very kind to me and gone out of their way to make sure I am okay. I want to make something for them, but I don't want it to be cheesy... I am considering crocheting them a throw of some kind, but I am looking for patterns that use only one color yarn and aren't too simple. I have a vast amount of this very soft dark green yarn, and I'd like to use that, but most of the patterns I can find that use only one color look too plain, if that makes sense. This isn't something I need to finish by Valentine's Day or anything. I'd just like to give it to them in the next couple months.

Thanks in advance for helping me brainstorm.

Don't hurt me! I just wanted to plug my ebay auction.. I'm selling 12 little Can-Do Craft type booklets. Some of them are for beady buddies, and the rest are jewelry, button covers, porcelain faces, etc. Lots of fun. The retail value for the set is $43.15, and the auction is starting at $9.99.. Please check it out, even if you don't bid! :)

Here's pics of the preg jumper I made for my buddy Stay-c. She's a super cutie and she's gonna have a girl. Having been friends since 6th grade it's hard to imagine. VERY hard to imagine. But it will be wonderful to see this whole thing happen BEFORE I have to go through it.
