here's another "do you know how to...." question..

does anyone know of a way (if possible) to get screen prints off a shirt, more specifically a sweatshirt, if it makes a difference??

my boy is searching for a hoodie but it seems impossible right now. but we found ones with ugly screen print on it..but don't want them.

if no one knows how to get it off, mind give me a few ideas to cover it up? (remember, for a boy)

thanks xox

I may be just plain un-sane, but I'm all about trying this idea out:
I collect personal ads that are witty or stupid.
I have over 500 ads altogether.
So i'm going to decoupage a notebook with personal ads and then mark ones as if they all came out of the same newspaper and somebody was looking at them.
Anybody want to give me some suggestions of cool ways to do this/want some personal ads?

any thing i need to know before I modgepodge for the first time? Yah, i know, i've been missing out all these years!

ok i have a couple of questions that im hoping yall can help me with...

first, i have a cotton tshirt that i tried to dye black a couple of years ago and it didnt really work out(its all splotchy and weird looking) and i just recently found it again and thought i would try dying it again. someone told me i should use color remover first to try to get the old dye out before i dye it again. has anyone used color remover before? how well does it work? and will it remove the original color of the shirt(it was orange)?

second, can i use RIT or some other common dye to dye brown taffeta a different color(probably black)?

third, and unrelated to dying, can i use magazines for paper mache? like instead of newspaper, can i cut up the magazine pages into strips? it seems like the slippery-ness of the pages might cause problems or something, but i thought i would check to see if anyone could tell me one way or the other before i try it and make a huge mess...

I've working on a project using my hot glue gun ($1.99 at the craft shop btw). Anyways, its now loaded with those hot glue "spiderwebs" making it look really messy.
Does anybody know how to get rid of these thingies?

Anybody interested in 60's style images and illustrations should really hit up their closest thrift store. I came across
"The Golden Encyclopedia", 1960" and
the "Readers Digest Treasury for Young Readers", 1963
so cool, really helpfull withthe hogde-pogde and those addictive marble magnets.

i spent today working on a star-shaped box to put all my concert ticket stubs inside......i layed them all out on my scanner, and printed about 5 pages on plain paper. then i tore them so they would have torn edges. i used Mod Podge (my first time) and layed out the print-outs on my star box..........i have yet to put the finishing coats of Mod Podge on, so it's not 100% done yet - but i was so excited i had to share.

So, i'm kicking myself in the ass for not taking pictures of the furniture before i started my work on it but here are a few close-ups and far-aways of my headboard and my footboard. There is still wood showing so you can get an idea of what it looked like before but i really wish i could have gotten a picture of the atrocious carving on the headboard that i covered up. I used Gloss-Lustre Mod Podge and i purchased two cd-ROMS full of pulp novel covers for the artwork from a company called Graffix Multimedia. I must say, they offered a really great selection of high resolution scans. my only problem was that there was a little logo in the bottom left corner of every picture.... it struck me that since i paid for the pictures that was a little unnecessary but oh well. The background is comprised of torn pieces of The New Republic magazine, a political industry mag. My old roommate left tons of copies and there were pages and pages of pure text. anyway, without further adieu...

my crafty little tribute to early 20th century kink.... )

Greetings & salutations, I'm new to the community! I'm short, I live in Idaho, I have a cat, I heart decoupage, and my name's Molly. :) Anyway, to get this post on topic. . .

Spent most of today making a skirt with my boyfriend (without a pattern):

I need to hem one part of it as it got a bit lopsided, but it turned out well overall. There are a few more pictures of it here if anyone wants to check them out. :)
