HELP!!

Okay, ladies and gents, I need some super-size help.

I'm writing a book for my children's literature class (I'll post pictures when it's done) and I can't find one integral piece of the whole puzzle. I'm using a Canson 13.25x11 spiral bound scrapbook for the book, but I can't find the page protectors for it anywhere. You would think that the Michael's where I bought the book would sell them, but no. They can't order them for me, either, and you can't order anything from the Canson website. Of course. So I was wondering if someone could find them for me. The project is due in four weeks, and I must have these things. All my pictures are watercolors, and I really worry about too many hands messing up a lot of hard work.

So here's their description:

Canson 13.25x11 page protectors (side loading)
Item #541-2259
15 to a package (I need at least two packages)

I've checked the craftgrrl FAQ, eBay and a Yahoo! search, and I've come up with nada. This is most unsettling, because they definitely exist.

I'll pay the cost plus shipping, of course, plus a little extra for your effort. If anyone could get these for me, or at least let me know of a store or site I could order them from directly, I'd be SO grateful. I'm getting nervous about this!

Thanks, y'all, and Happy Easter! :-)

I've been busy! First I made a bandana )

Then I fixed up a hat )

And then I made those hair sticks I was talking about )

I'm thinking of making more bandanas and hair sticks and selling them online or something. Obviously if I did the hairsticks, I'd paint them less sloppily ^^; But anyway, what do you guys think a fair price should be? I'm probably going to do $3-$3.50 per bandana...but the hair thingies..I have no idea. They're so easy to make, though, and I think they'll sell pretty well. :D

I also dyed easter eggs with my mom today...they look REALLY cute, but I forgot to take pictures so you'll just have to use your imagination and pretend they're the best eggs you've ever seen in your life. ;)

Oh yeah, and since yard sale season has officially started over here, I went driving around today to a few sales. I picked up two LPs -- I made a box out of the cover of one and I'm going to use the cover of the other one and the two records to make one of those vinyl handbags. I also got the coolest book ever....a Gone With The Wind...Cookbook. I don't know yet whether I'm going to make it into an altered book or just use the recipes from it, but I might do both. Steal the recipes, write them down, and then alter it. Either way, it's the coolest thing ever! :D

Anyway, um...that's all. ^^

so.
i've heard that there's some sort of an additive that you can put in acrylic paint to make it work on fabric.

does anyone know what it is?
is it washable and all of that?

I just set up a little store at Cafe Press. It's a prelude to the website I hope to set up soon. Only a few products right now, but have a look! Aloha Lemon

Hii :]
Happy Easter everyone!
[I hope the Easter bunny came to your house]

Anyway, last entry I forgot to introduce myself.
Apologies ;x
I'm Casey, and I've been watching this community for like, 1 month. Being crafty = fun.

So I have a question, or 2..

Mother's Day is coming up [Kind of..] and I'd like to make my grandma and my mom something, but I'm not sure what. Does anyone have any ideas?

My grandma sews like a madwoman, so I was thinking of making a mini sewing kit with the Altoid tins. I saw them in the FAQ :D Anywho, what should I put in them? Do they sell little spools of thread?

Eep. So many questions. So little time.
Thanks and I hope you girls have a nice day! :]

well, i just finished sewing a cute pair of PJ shorts which went pretty well. it was my first clothing project so i'm quite proud of myself. :) plus it was super cheap!

fabric: a flannel milk & cookies print - $0.99 (found in a remnant bin)
elastic - $0.50
drawstring - $0.86
pattern: McCall's #3856 - $2.49 (on sale)
TOTAL: $4.84

yay! :D i'm going to post pictures as soon as i get acccess to a scanner...

ANYWAY, the real reason i'm posting is because i had a tiny bit of fabric left over from the shorts. about a 5' x 41' long rectangle. i was curious if anybody had some ideas for something i could use this remaining scrap for?? i'm really aching to sew some more but am broke at the moment and unable to buy any more fabric. :( the fabric i used looks similar to this one but a LOT nicer:

any ideas?

Sugar Eggs

Someone posted here a long time ago about the old-fashioned sugar eggs that are made of colored sugar and decorated with icing, and often had window cut-outs with little dioramas inside made of icing/flowers/marzipan. I was watching Martha Stewart today on the Food Network, and Lo! There was a whole installment about sugar eggs! It was really cool, and aside from the drying time, which can be time consuming, they're super easy to make.

Anyway, here's the synopsis and recipe: Old-Fashioned Sugar Eggs. (As far as I can tell, this info is only on the Food Network site - I couldn't find it anywhere on Martha's site).

Also: Home-made Peeps!

I had this Star Wars shirt that didn't fit well, so I cut open the sleeves and the neck and stitched up some in the arm pit to make cute sleeves.
It's my first attempt at anything like this. I did it by hand because even though my housemate has a sewing machine they really scare me. I messed up on one of my knots at the end I guess because it's started to bust open already. I may have just sewed it up too high too. I think I'll reinforce it with another round of sewing.
Here's the picture.

oh yeah.

knitted myself a new hat (bleh and it's hot now!) can't remeber what kind of yarn I used but done the same way as the other one. knitted a big head-sized rectangle and then sewed the edges up. used circular needles for the first time, it was WEIRD! I'm knitting myself some leg-warmers now.
