This week, we're painting my youth group's building on the inside, and we need ideas!

The name of our youth group is "FUSION" (The merging of different elements into a union), we're in desperate need of ideas... the wall is around 40x15 feet, and its completly white and boring right now.

Work your creative minds! I need all possible suggestions you can give.. lol

Thanks so much in advance :)

Hi everybody =D I've been watching this community for awhile, and this is one of my first posts, if not the first. And of course, I'm posting because I need a little help from the multitudes of creative geniuses out there.

I need to come up with a way to demonstrate my understanding of a novel without writing an essay about it. I've been thinking about it for awhile and I can't come up with anything that would encompass what I want it to without being super lame or boring about it.

The topic is this:
Using The Scarlet Letter as the basis for your discussion, show how a single wrongdoing may have a “ripple effect” upon those associated with the sinner. Explain how the transgression changes the person who has sinned and how it alters the lives of those close to him or her.

If you've read the book (which I'm sure you have) you know that there are three major sinners in the book - Hester, Dimmesdale, and Chillingworth. What I want to do is find a way to tie all three together and demonstrate the effects of their sins on themselves, each other, and the community. I think something to do with water would suit it well, as then I could actually demonstrate the "ripple effect" using, well, ripples.. but I can't figure out how to make it not be huge and confusing.

So yeah. I can't come up with a way to clearly express the topic. Any ideas on clearly tying all the things together? Definitely something visual, or maybe a combination of writing and visuals.

Help me :o I'll be forever grateful.

Perhaps this isn't the best place to be posting this, but I reckon that other crafters would have encountered this problem somewhere along the lines....

While extinguishing a candle (one I had made, no less), I managed to tip it over and spill quite a bit of the melted wax onto a shirt of mine. Having never encountered such a predicament before, I've tried several things (scrubbing, picking off what wax I could, etc.) to no avail. Has anyone a suggestion on removal of the wax? (I fear that it's going to be something painfully simple that I'd've never thought of...)

I posted a few days ago about making your own rubber stamps and how much fun I was having with it and how it suited my needs wonderfully. A few people asked for pictures, so here they are:

My mom took this really old government issued dresser that my dad had used as a boy and stripped all the paint off. There were seriously like six coats of paint on it. She sanded it down and voila! The thing is freaken beautiful. I picked out the handles and now its proudly sitting in my room. I couldn't believe how good it turned out, and I wish I could say I did the entire thing myself, instead of just one drawer. Its amazing what a little paint stripper and some sanding can do.
