My boyfriend Charles and I were bored one day. He wanted to fancy up his apt so I agreed to help him. What he did was sketched out the ninja turtles on the cabinet, I painted them with color to improve them a bit. Then I noticed he had some old comic books. So we cut out various neat scenes from the comic books and mod podged them onto the doors in a collage fashion. It turned out rather neat :) He loves it, so that makes me happy.

So my super rad boyfriend gave me all this colored leather that he had just lying around (i know some of it he used to make himself the Camel cigarettes logo for the back of one of his leather jackets...that's a fun story in itself cause i'll be helping him fix it) So here's what I "inherited":
*they are scraps, but not like, oh jee thanks for the inch of leather scraps...good scraps!*
-3 nice sized pieces of purple leather. One piece is thicker than the other two, but i can soften it up a bit
-loads of red leather, two of them are good sizes , the 3rd looks like it'd only be good for making a bracelet or something.
-Dark blue scraps (mostly would be good to use to spruce another leather thing, or make a bracelet)
-tan/brown leather in various shapes and sizes
-A goldish/silver looking bunch of leather scraps, that's the best i can describe em lol
-Lots of light gray and some darker gray
-Light tan in various shapes, kinda goldish tones to it.
-and a big ol piece of Orange leather.

I'm def. using some of it to "customize" my riding chaps, like make sure the back of em aren't adjustable anymore and make it pretty. I'm not sure if i have pieces of one color that would be large enough to help me lengthen my italian leather pants, but i could use a color i like to find leather at my local fabric supplier, but yea, any other suggestions at all??? I'm dying to hear your crafty opinions =)

I make postcards out of magazine clippings. I like to make collages so what I'm looking for is something like a paper cutter. I need something like a cookie cutter so I can layer several pictures and cut them all at once in exactly the same shape. Has anyone seen something that will do that?

New here, EXTREME crafting beginner. My name is Dana, and I'm 18. I just joined LJ about two weeks ago. My question is:
How would one go about making one of the bandana/headscarves that are so popular now?

i'm remember doing this project. making candles.
wear you take a soup can, do the double boiler thing.
i melted crayons but i was like.. 9 when i did this.
i'd use wax now.
but i melted the wax
took a can or some kind of jar. put the wick in the middle
filled it with crunched ice (bigger chunks though, no shavings)
and then poured in the wax.
it looked cool
i don't know if i'd like it anymore.
and it'd probably melt funny.
but hey
they look kick ass.

i'll make one and post it soon with directions and schtuff.

buhbye

I've decided to decorate my bedroom in an 'asian' theme...i'm thinking zen, calm, relaxing, dark cherry wood, that type of thing.

does anyone have any decorating ideas? i'm looking for crafty type stuff to make, as well as maybe ideas on how to liven up some cheaply purchased furniture/accessories. i rent an apartment, so painting the walls is out of the question...

thanks in advance!

help!!!!

In about three weeks my mom is throwing a party for my sister who is graduating from highschool. Since we dont have much time to prepare I was wondering if any of you "crafty girls" have ideas for a theme and favors? I was thinking of doing a laua but it might get a little expensive. By the way, we're renting a room so I have to think about the space too. So any suggestions is *greatly* appreciated. Thanks!!!!!
