The radio station that I am a part of (WXDU in Durham, NC) is planning on buying a bunch of blank shirts and then silk screening them ourselves. We have found the shirts we want to use but now we need the materials.

Does anyone have any recommendations on resources for ink supplies and about how much paint/screens, etc. we might need for approximately 100-150 (maybe more) shirts?

Thank you in advance!

cobalt?

Hi again,

I'm trying to find a place that carries diamond drill bits, so that I can drill holes in wine bottles and make incense burners! So far my search has turned up nothing but cobalt - the last guy I talked to said he didn't know if that would crack a wine bottle or not.

I've never done this before, but I think it would be really fun and I could get creative with decorating the bottles... if anyone has done this before, can you tell me how you went about it??

i'm selling handsewn sock babies (albans is playing vanna white up there!) , hand-beaded jewelry, and crocheted fun stuff. okay, that's enough of me jowling! lemme know what you think - esp about my pricing and displaying my goods... still working out my *marketing strategy*. any advice on how to better spread the word? thanx!

my craftiness seems to be seasonal -- i spent most of last fall/winter crocheting kittyhats and matching scarves and selling them around town. now that the weather's warmed a bit, i've transitioned over to wire crochet and experimented some with wire and bead jewelry-making.

i'm in search of:

1. opinions my pieces -- what you like, what you don't, how you'd improve them. i know there's only two pictures below, but if you're interested in seeing more, i'll post them. i don't want to bombard people with massive pictures of things they'd rather just scroll past.

2. i'm in search of a not-insanely-expensive supplier of large-ish glass beads, like the ones in the photo below. when i'm putting upwards of 300 large glass beads in a necklace or choker, i can't really afford to be paying $.30-$.50/bead (that's almost $100 in beads alone, not to mention charging for labor and such.)

3. also looking for something bead-like to use as a clasp. i happened to have the oblong bead below on hand to use as a toggle for this bracelet, but don't have any more to use in the future, and the tieing of the ends really wasn't as clean as i'd've liked it to have been.

4. sources for more wire crochet patterns. i make some nice pieces now, but i'd like to work on something more complex, and lack idears. creative bits, please!

also, how much would you pay for the pieces below? i have an inkling of what i'd like to charge, but some seem more "boutique-priced" than everyday-selling prices.

New here. I won't bore you with any long introduction.

I was wondering if anyone had any AOL Tins that they'd like to part with. I collage on the front and line the inside with fabric and make CD holders from them. The problem is, I have more ideas than tins.

Okay, I admit, I haven't been paying the closest attention to this community, so I don't know if this has been posted yet.
But it's worth a look.

Help me! I screened something about two months ago and it came out crooked. I NEVER FINISHED CURING IT WITH AN IRON. I know it's supposed to come out in cold water, but it's stubborn (or i'm impatient). Right now, it's soaking in cold water. Any other ideas?

And I'd also like to take a moment to thank everyone in here for their overall helpfulness whenever anyone has a question. I really love that.

I'm making a little memory book for Aja (my best friend) on our graduation. It's gonna be like photograph size, and I'll put cut-outs of pictures of us, clips from magazines that pertain to our memories, and lyrics..and then bind it in a little book.

Anyone have any ideas of what else to put or how to make it nice looking?

hey,
i have a lot of pez dispensers, and cant find a good way to display them. i don't want to glue them to anything where they will be permanently stuck or damaged, but i don't like just having them thrown in lunch boxes either. i'm sooooo low on ideas. any help would be greatly appreciated. low budget would be a plus.

Pin Board

I've been collecting pins now for about 5 years now. I get one just about everywhere I go. I used to keep them on my denim winter coat, but after almost losing a few I decided I needed somewhere else to keep them.

This is what I came up with )

I want to make curtains for our bedroom. And I found the best material today that would match PERFECTLY. So my question is, how do I make curtains? Is it as simple as measuring the length and width of the window and cutting the fabric? How do I make them hang? My idea is to sew loops of fabric on the top and then string them on a rod. Any other suggestions?

Thanks so much.
