I made a the magazine bag from the FAQ section and I love it. I'll try and get pictures on here soon. The only hard part was sewing on the bottom...it was hard to get a good grip. YAY, finally i have a new bag, made just by me!

If this is not acceptable just delete it....;

I was at a conference this past weekend on peer education at TCNJ, and I won a tshirt that says "I <3 my body" ( think the I heart ny shirts style) well, the problem is that it's a 2xl. since I've got down the basics of tshirt reconstructing but nowhere near the caliber that anyone here is, I was wondering if someone would be up for the challenge of making this smaller and into a one strap tank top, or something else creative?
I would send measurments, pay shipping, and would be willing to trade something that I posses (a lot of crap, including a huge variety of pony beads... and who knows what else I might find) or I could just give ya a bit (and i mean a bit... I'm a starving college student remember!) of cash for your time/effort.

again, if this is totally bad of me I'm sorry, and tear it down/ edit it all you'd like :) .
If not, and you're interested, please email me at DarrahDoodle@msn.com

thanks! :) :) :)

ps- I'm in the process of learning to crochet so i can do recieving blankets to donate while at work, and i LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

hello my beautifuls:

next month, thru august, i will be undergoing brain surgery. this means a shaved, shivering head and lots of knit hats to keep it cozy. i was wondering: could anyone who has websites / sells their work could comment about their hats? so i can start buying some new cute ones for school? i would appreciate it greatly. i just need somewhere to buy them online, since hardly any stores are selling them during this season. :)

<333

ps. pictures coming soon of:

• cute desk supplies for my boyfriend
• the best prom dress ever
• a homemade lamp, record shelves, and a record clock
• toothbrush braclets
• all sorts of guitar pick goodies

edit: and the coolest bag ever! eee! records!

ok crochet vs. knitting, what are the differences between the two? such as in the stitchwork, what can be made out of the different styles, what types of material can be used, etc. which is easier for a total beginner? thanks!

Hey I wanna make a sweater that has a skull and crossbones on the front. Any suggestions of where I could find/create such a pattern? Thanks in advance.

We have a nice little "coffee area" set up in the kitchen, because we drink A LOT of coffee, and we're very serious about coffee drinking and the supplies that it requires. Here's my dilemma: we buy coffee filters in bags, and my husband is too lazy (or too comatose, lol) to put the filters back in the bag when he gets one out. So I found an old margerine bowl with a lid that I think the filters will fit in (obviously I will check first), and I want to decorate it so that it doesn't look like an old margerine bowl (it's not even one of the decorative ones, it says "Move Over Butter" on it), sitting there in the middle of all my nice coffee supplies.

SO. The question is, what would be an effective way to decorate a margerine bowl, given that slick texture? I thought about using pretty scrapbook paper and Mod Podge, but being in the kitchen, water spashes are inevitable. I thought about using stickers and Mod Podge, but wasn't sure stickers would stick to that slick surface, plus there's still the non-waterproof factor of Mod Podge to consider. Any other ideas?

Ok, this wasn't actually a t-shirt to begin with, it was a blouse my mum had that shrunk cos my dad put it in the tumble dryer so I made a halter top out of it :D yay

I haven't sewed it yet, it's only roughly pinned together so don't have a go at its sloppiness please...

Okay, I just have a question about CP soap making since I've NEVER been able to figure out what i'm doing wrong.

Now, I let it set for the allotted time, and let it cure for about three weeks. Yet still, even if I do this, I get soap that just disintigrates if it sits in water at all.

Also, how much orris root would you say to use for a regular 10 bar recipe (approx. 60 grams a bar)?

Thanks!

hi, i'm new here! i've been on lj for a while, but i never thought to look up craft groups until today.

i've been thinking about trying my hand at batiking and figured i'd ask you chicas - has anyone here tried doing their own batik? can anyone recommend any links/sites with instructions?

thanks!

does anyone know where I can find good instructions online to make a very simple shawl?
I don't even know how to increase or decrease yet so they have to be very simple.
I bought some Patons Cha Cha (kind of an eyelash type yearn) and I'm thinking it might be time to attempt something other than a scarf.

I have a TON of multi colored christmas lights that I just inherited. Is there anything crafty I can do with these? They are the standard christmas tree ones...

I got this from a thrift store many months ago for about $2. It was just a plain old jean jacket then. The sleeves were restricting though so I cut them off, sewed some material on it and took to it with magic markers. I need ideas! I drew a Roy Liechtenstein painting on one side and the other side is blank. I was thinking maybe an old horror movie character or something or just a neat picture. I need your input!

hello-i'm pretty new at knitting and I quick question:
i have a knit hat pattern that calls for 16" circular needles, and then to use double pointed needles at the top of the hat. i cannot find 16" circular needles ANYWHERE (and i am not prepared to order them from joann's and pay that shipping and handling!). But... I do have the DPN's-- would it work out if i did the entire hat with the DPN's?
thanks in advance!

I don't mean to sound crabby, but it would make it much easier to skim through recent posts if people include subject for their posts. Thanks!

(I love the variety of this community, but I feel like I miss things I'd like to read and comment on as I skim through a couple days of posts...)

Is there anything I can rub on patent vinyl (PVC) so it won't be shiny anymore?
