Hmmm.. well lately instead of working on my business(sorry shameless plug) I have been crafting.

So these are two shirts I have made. I don't know how much I will wear either of them, but I do like the design process. Take a gander.

i made myself a paul frank scuvy purse! i couldn't find one, and even if i could, i'm too cheap to spend more than $20 on a purse! i need to resew scurvy on the front cause its bunchy, but its late and i'm not doing it tonight...

scurvy! )

I just spend 3 1/2 to 4 hours making this by following these directions. It's a princess necklace.
The back I looped and tied with lace, instead of sheer ribbon that the woman on the site did, and I think it came out pretty good.
Especially since it took me so long to do. :)
And I don't think I plan on making another one of these any time soon! It took waaaaay longer than I anticipated. I figured an hour and a half or two, but nope. What took the longest, though, was threading the needle! Grr! :)

ho hum.

so I'd like to make a magnet board out of old vinyl records.

trouble is, magnetic paint is a pesky shade of grey.

if i painted over the gray with a nice matte black, do you think there's a chance it could Blend Right In, or would it just would look too ridiculous?

(i ask this like there are hundreds of people with experience painting on old records.)

thanks.

I would like to paint my bike from its current unattractive 1970's brown to a more appealing shade. Does anyone know of a good paint that would work? I'd like it to be shimmery, not flat, and pretty durable since i will be outside with it, biking all about. Suggestions appricated!

(I got my new Ready Made yesterday and haven't had a chance to look at it yet, I saw there were bike prjects though! yay!)

First, I would like to apologize for not having a chance to comment on all the wonderful projects that have been inundating my journal. You all really are a group of talented people! Thank you for sharing and inspiring me, though I don't know how I will keep up!
I am currently working on painting my kitchen chairs with my eldest daughter. They are all different colors with different designs, and C (my almost 13 year old) is interested in either painting, or decoupaging some Japanese lettering on her chair. Before I go traipsing through the Internet, I was wondering if any of you know of a good site or two that has them in JPG or GIF form? Please don't do a search for me, I can do that myself, but if one or more of you has a good site off hand, it would save me some trouble and time from the get go.

Thanks!

Hi, i'm new to this community, I'm 18 and i love to sew and i do a lot of crafting, more so when i'm at my mom's house. I am currently having problems with my overlock machine though. The top threads and the bottom threads aren't lining up quite right anymore, the right needle is sewing where the left needle should and the left needle is just poking holes in my fabric; which is causeing me greif cause i want a fix and haven't come up with one. If anyone has any insite on my latest problem i would love to know, I really want my baby to work again.

thanks much,
alaina

I apologize if I shouldn't ask about this here -- feel free to delete if I'm too off-topic, kimmercake!

I'm wondering if any of you crafty people who have established online businesses can tell me a little about how you handle order-processing. Do you just use Paypal, or is there a better way to go?

Anyone have a clue what I can do with these. I was thinking ceiling fan pulls but they are kind of gawdy. Aren't they. Incidently I never wore these. I got a big box of stuff at a auction with some costume jewerly in it.

tool roll!

[identity profile] vespabelle.livejournal.com
not your usual craft project for sure.

this is a tool roll I made for my scooter. It's made of black cordura fabric. The applique is a mustard yellow laminated outerwear fabric (so it's waterproof). The tool pockets are clear heavy-duty vinyl.

This is the outside.

and the inside:

The next one I'm making will be longer (for more tools) and I'll make sure to make the pockets bigger. I made several of them too narrow. Oh, well, you always need pens in your glovebox right?

This is the second tool roll I've made. I made one out of pink upholstery fabric probably 15 years ago which I still have in my car!

Does anyone know where I can find a pattern to make a nurse outfit? Like one of those skanky ones?
Or does anyone know where I can find an ultra small nurse outfit??
Thx.

ok so girls and boys I need ideas.
My friend's brother is getting married in 2 weeks and I want to make them a little something.
What can I make that's relatively fast and doesn't involve supplies that are overly expensive?
They are a cool couple so I want to make them something rockin.
I have NO ideas!

Hello everyone. I've been watching you guys for a while now and loving all your crafty genius. But I just got a (cheap) digital camera so I can finally share some stuff I've made.

Let's just start with a patchwork-applique-quilt-thinga which I JUST finished. It's for my friend Amy. We're throwing her a surprise 18.5th birthday on friday!
[identity profile] stasiia.livejournal.com
1. I went to the store today and didn't know if I should get mod podge or decoupage.. decoupage seems more professional..and also seems more expensive..but I'm not sure. whats better to use on a dresser?

2.anyone know a good place to buy vitamin e for not too much.. an online store or real store. thanks

3. I am starting to crochet and my mom taught me the regular stitch.. whatever its called and I am having trouble holding the yarn right but I guess im getting the hang of it.. I also I seem to be messing up the second column.. but any tips for me? I'm afraid I'll never be able to do anything fancier although I want to.. should I start by making a scarf first?

Would anyone be willing to aide me while making this duct tape wallet? I'm a little confused at a certain step and I could use some guidance..
[identity profile] fireflyxstare.livejournal.com
Hola! Just posting some crafty stuff I've done in the past and one thing I'm working on at the moment.

This is probably a classic craft, decopage, modge podge, whatever, it's really fun & I've been doing it for years.

This one I did back in 1999
box 1 )

This one I did in 2000 [forgive me, I was really really into *nsync at the time *blushes*]
box 2 )

I did this one as a project in my creative home arts [in other words, really fun craft class] my senior year in high school. My teacher loved it.
box 3 )

& this one I'm working on right now. It's coming along......

Feldspar

Hmph. When the fantasycrafts journal was deleted, I lost my post of Feldspar pics, so I am reposting here. He is from a Smallworks pattern, available here.

Click here for more )Feldspar took a long time to make, but was well worth it! Also, he now has some fabric painted facial spikes, and looks a bit more distinguished.

Once I actually got back to working on him, this little guy didn't take too long, but boy could I use a new sewing machine! He is from a Kudzu pattern.

Two beasties

Click here for more )This was my sister's long-awaited birthday present. I had a sewing block for about a year before finishing him!

Hair help?

Jun. 23rd, 2003 08:22 pm
[identity profile] aylara.livejournal.com
OK...I know this may not *seem* crafty, but I think that it is.

I work in retail. I'm also growing my hair out. But I have to have my hair up and out of the way a lot of the time. And, I mean *up*. Barrettes to just pull it back from my face do not keep me cooled off enough (I have to lift very heavy boxes for several hours once a week, sometimes more).

The thing is, I put my hair in a ponytail and it looks like *crap.* I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. There's all of these other cute girls with cuter ponytails than me. I tried messing around with some hair gel and conditioner, but my hair ends up looking weird and greasy. I end up with little frizzies all over, little frizzy tufts by my ears...argh. It's driving me crazy and I hate looking crappy.

Can anyone give me some tips?
[identity profile] birdandblue.livejournal.com

I posted instructions for making these EASY pinwheel hair pins...they are under DIY on my website http://www.Mypapercrane.com
[identity profile] stasiia.livejournal.com
I know this might be a weird question.. but do you think that sewing/knitting/crochetting is like an art talent.. some people are just born to do it better? because i love the idea of making things, i just have so much trouble understanding and teaching myself.. this is random, but i'm just wondering your opinion.

I finally got around to updating my page and have new project. Check it out!
