Hello crafty girls. :) I came across this adorable little trinket on a gift site and I would love to make something that resembles it to give to a special person. Does anyone here have any ideas about how I could replicate the trinket (picture in the cut), materials, directions, anything? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone!
I'm making my boyfriend a Mix Cd for Valentine's day and so far it has this jazzy theme to it. I really like the style of the 1940s-1950s lady postcards that you see in stores and such, and I was wondering if there was any where online that I could find those types of pictures? I've googled it a few times and to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just saw on tv that ACE is having a 40% off sale on everything this Saturday. I assume it's all of them and just not the one here. I'll be picking up a bunch of duct tape and whatever other cool stuff I can find.

thanks

These are the first things I've ever decoupaged.. I think they turned out good =) The first is an old chess piece box that wasn't used anymore and the 2nd is my art supply case. It was trickier because it has LOTS and lots of hinges; lol

sorry for the shitty quality, its just a webcam. :\

I was shopping the other day and, inspired by all the black-and-white looks that are in style now, I made some jewelry to match--pendants and barrettes, so far...

Bag

Hello all.
I'm new here, so here's a stupid question:
Does anyone know how to make a bag like
this )
[identity profile] xxbettyragexx.livejournal.com
okay, so i want to make my boyfriend one last gift for valentines day. i have this blank sketch book that's about the size of a standard piece of paper. i plan on collaging on the front, but i have no clue what to put in it. i can't really do a scrapbook/memory book type thing (i have zero pictures of us and i've used things like movie stubs, concert tickets, etc. on other gifts.) i was thinking maybe a huge coupon book, with like 8 coupons to a page. any other ideas?
[identity profile] cindysewsew.livejournal.com
I made this for my husband from our trusty Lab Molly ane me.

I've been searching all over and reading the memories and I can't find the answer to this question:

I have a piece of goldish coloured velvet suede. I want to make it into a bracelet with a design on it. I don't want to paint it, or stitch on beading. I was hoping to do some sort of velvet burnout type thing with a pattern.

Can this be done? Has anyone done it before? Is there a website out there that can help me?

Thanks!

ok, i have a strange request. :) i decided today that I want to make my bf a new pillowcase for Vday. We are semi long distance (only see each other on weekends) so he requested one of my pillows a month or so ago. Sadly, the oly case I could find at the time was Dragontales. I have a 4 yr old sister, so ya know...haha. Anyway. he always is mocking the case and saying he has to hide it from people. anyway, i have like no time watesoever, and tonight after work is the only time i have to stop at the store. Does anyone know the dimensions I should buy for a pillowcase? Inches, watever, of fabric. It's just a normal sized bed pillow, kinda flattened because it's old...haha. I know, it's weird, but i don't have time to stop home after work, and I want to statr it tonite.

Thanks!

Hi all,

This is my latest creation... )

And I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a new community aimed at showing off and talking about hand made cloth creatures, and maybe non-cutesy cloth dolls, too. I searched around and didn't find anything that fit the bill, so if any of you know of one already, please point me to it.

If you would be interested in joining such a community, please comment, and I'll see about creating it!

Today is hot and boring so I started on a shirt I've been planning for awhile.

When the paint dries I'm going to get the machine out and sew fluoro thread in zig zags all over it, but my mum says I need some kind of fabric padding or facing behind it to make the stitching look good? What's this stuff she means, and do I really need to bother?

Another one I made a few weeks ago )

I've been making a lot of lucky stars lately...

They're really spiffy and people seem to like flattening them and then popping them back up. Mindless fun, really. Anyway, a lot of my friends almost ate these when I showed them 'cause they thought they were candy... Then it got me thinking: couldn't I make these out of edible paper? Then people could really eat them!

Does anyone know where to get edible paper and how much it costs? Oh, and I made a load of these stars for Valentine's Day just so I can throw them at people like confetti.
[identity profile] calienteyfria.livejournal.com
I want to make one of these for our son, and perhaps a few more to sell...

I can't find a pattern online and don't have a sewing machine, so I am thinking a couple of squares of the polar fleece and stitch around the outside and then turn it inside out so the loops stick out.

Would this work? http://store.yahoo.com/snuggleroo/littletaggie.html

For Valentines Day, I've decided to make my boyfriend a handmade book.

I have some lovely handmade paper with a pink thread embedded (it is quite stiff, and thick), and I was planning to put a polaroid on each page with a sentence of a poem I have written under each polaroid- and on the last page, the final sentence of the poem only.

This book will be a max of seven or eight pages at the most, including the cover. What would be the best way to bind this? At the moment I'm studying this and hoping that this would work, but as it would not be very thick I'm wondering if there is anything more suitable.

Help is very much appreciated, and if you want to use/modify this idea for valentines day or what not, please go ahead, I dont mind. Once again, I'd love help/feedback.

Thankyou! ♥

BOXES!

Boxing Question!

So, I made shortbread heart cookies and I need some sort of box to put them in. Or some sort of holding device. They're somewhat large and I don't really want to stack them on top of one another, so I'm looking for something nice, flat and long (like a shirt box)... that I can just put some cute ribbon around or something. Where does one find nice boxes like these?

Or, does anyone have an alternative suggestion for packaging?

I want to make a little relaxation corner in my room. Like I want to put down some sort of padding (thick, like a small mattress would be) and somehow attach pillows along the bottom of the wall (as a back rest) and then just throw TONS of pillows on it. (It's like what Beyonce had in her room on cribs from last year, if anyone saw).

Can anyone give me any tips on what to use, or how to make some padding for the floor, and how to make some padding or attach pillows for the bottom of the wall.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if a "sweater" like this would fair better being done by crochet or knit...does anyone know of a pattern or should I just freehand? The worse it looks, though, probably the better so that is good.

So, yeah, crochet or knit? Patterns? Does this make any sense?

so i'm making my boyfriend a band tshirt quilt-type deal and there's just one problem...i live smack dab in the middle of suburbia and after searching through every thrift store in town (all 4 of them) the only tshirt i could find was backstreet boys which is definitely NOT acceptable in terms of his taste in music. so my question is this: does anyone know where i can get large quantities of band shirts (or just nifty shirts) for cheap?? any/all ideas are appreciated!!
thanks guys! er...girls...

Ok- I've got a really old, amazingly comfortable pair of the white, three colored stripe adidas sneakers with the plastic shell top...

I painted the baby pink stripes magenta when I got them 4 years ago... so I just touched that up, and the actual SNEAKER isn't too bad- nothing a little white shoe polish can't fix... but does anyone know

a. something I can do to change the shell top rubbery plastic part back to white? it's sort of turned a dull eggshell/yellow color over the years.

b. something i can do to not make them SMELL SO DAMN BAD?!?!

hehe. thanks a TON!
