i checked the FAQ, but if i missed it, let me know

so i just got a polaroid camera for my birthday today (my birthday was last month, but i got it today...whatever. anyway...) so it's kinda a stinky gift just because the film is SOOOOO expensive! (but in my excitment, i used up $12 worth of film just sitting in my boyfriend's dormroom watching TV)

so the question:
after i finish a "roll" of film, there's a cartridge left over. ANY ideas on what to do with it?

it seems like SUCH a waste to throw it away. anything?

thanks!

what can i do with my old (computer) keyboard?
is there a way to poke holes in the keys to make charms/beads?

thanks for any ideas/advice <33 :]

Water Doll

New doll for Nervousness. Might post better pictures when I get Verizon to give me a password. DSL kicks ass, but Verizson does not!

I'm pleased, because I tried something new. Her body was straight when I cut it out, but I sewed little darts in afterwards, to give her the neat twisty shape.

Cross-posted.

Yesterday's other project:

He's really cute, but right after I finished him I thought of an easy way I could have given him 4 legs without having to figure out a belly gusset. Oh well, I think the mexican blanket makes up for it.

[my journal name used to be metalequalsrust, so i'm not new. just for clarification. not that new people are bad. i love new people. right. ok...]

ok, so this might be a ridiculous question, but i really want to know...

does anyone read while they knit?
and, also, if you do... how do you get your book to behave?

thanks a bunch

OK, creative types. I've recently been made the proud mother of a bag of shredded dollar bills. I think they're neat, but I have no idea what I could use them for, short of Easter basket grass. :) Could I maybe make paper out of them?

ebay stores

This question is to anyone who has (or who has ever had) an ebay store. I just opened one up. At the moment I have several items for auction, but none of them are showing up in my store. Why not? Is there anything I can do to get my auctions to show up there?

Thanks!

Is there some sort of spray shellack out there that I can spray on carstock to harden it tremendously?
If so, what section is it in at the craft store, and what brands work best?

Hi :D

Hey again. ;P Can anyone think of any good uses for the wallets birth control pills come in? They're ADORABLE bright royal blue false leather print vinyl, with two pockets inside.
Thanks!

its made from a bit of fabric i got sent to me as a sample.. i thought as they were free samples they would be tiny scraps but this bit was just big enough to make purse :)
i duno what kind of beads they are.. taken from old bracelets i dont wear anymore :) took forever to sew..
sooooooooooo its a bit messy :-p i got impatient with it and rushed it

i made a soft toy for my cousin who's going to be 2 on Sunday:

+ 1 )

it's the same on the other side, but with the felt triangle in different places...if that makes sense, heh.
it's stuffed with polyester [i think] toy stuffing. and i used ribbons to attach giant jingle bells to it.
i love it :D hehe

this is some of my most recent craftiness, though i am dissapointed in its lacking of puppi-ness.

Okay, i've made two pairs of mittens Like These ) and I now have some white bernat boa left over. I'm going to make wristbands out of them, so they'll look similar to the mitten cuffs, but I need something funky/fancy to fasten it- some kind of pair of little pins that I could maybe buy more than two of (I may someday sell this type of thing) Any ideas on where to find them? I might go to a craft store and see if I can find some little flowery jewel things and make pins myself but I want to see if there's anything premade i can find first.

So, any ideas/links/stuffs? I think something either sparkly or flowerish would be really cute (I'd make fimo roses or something if I could afford it O_O But dang, that stuff is 'spensive!

So I was going made a scrapbook album for my sister for her wedding. She canceled the wedding now and I'm not sure what to do with her gift. I thought I might try Ebay.

Do you think it will sell?
Would you buy it?
Do you think I'll make what I put into it?

hey do any of you guys know what to put in a purse to make it stiffer/stronger? I already use interfacing, but I haven't figured out a way to stop the "sagging" when there's heavier items in the bag.

my arm looks fat... )

I LIKE IT A LOT. too bad I'm sending it to my sister in chicago tomorrow :) *happy dance*

i checked out the faq and found some posts pertaining to specific silk screening topics, but i am looking for a good site that gives the basics of silk screening. i've never done it before, and really have no idea how it works and i would like to learn.
many thanks!
