Hey. I'm pretty sick (sore throat, headache, body aches, the works..) and its rainy here, but I want to keep myself busy in order to avoid leaving the house and getting even sicker.
I'm sewing and altering alot of clothes right now and making accessories, jewelery, and bracelets.
Does anyone have any quick ideas to make/alter acessories or clothing that doesn't take too much energy, and uses things around the house? I'm quickly becoming uninspired because alot of my projects are becoming finished.. so yeah. I need some inspiration.
I have a pretty large collection of craft supplies, so I have alot of things lying around waiting to be used.

Any links for inspiration, photos, quick ideas, things you've made, or just random ideas would be great.

Thanks for any ideas!

edit;// oh and I just re-read that entry.. and it sounded pretty redundant. Sorry about that. I think this sickness is getting to my head, haha. <3

My fabric paint screwed me. This ) is the paint I used. On the back the instructions say to steam it on the iron's wool setting to set it. I steamed it. This ) is what happened to my wonderful "Don't do bugs" shirt that was my first actual paid order. I am so upset that I have to go out and buy another shirt and do it all again and definitely make no profit since I said the price was only $10. Crap. Ozzy's head looks like shit. I steamed the rest of it (lettering, ants) and it didn't do that--same with another shirt I made that was just lettering, it was fine.

Well, two "silk screening" questions then...

I used an embroidery hoop and old pantyhose, but what's a good glue to use for the negative space? I used Elmer's only to realize when I was rinsing the paint, "hey, this glue is water soluble."

And, what fabric paint won't do what this just did? Is there some secret trick to creating beautiful shirts that I just can't grasp?

Help.

Ok, so I don't know if anyone remembers the post about the bowl made out of a bucket-o-soldiers, but I finally got around to making one...It came out a little deformed, but I'm learning how to do it, and I think I've got it figured out! The closest thing I have to a digital camera is my phone, so please pardon the poor quality of the photos!

Bucket-O-Soldier Bowl )

I also made some earings! I hope that whoever it was that thought of making earings out of fishing lures and Barbie shoes doesn't mind that I borrowed her idea...I just couldn't resist!

Earings )

That's all of the nifty crafts I have for now...Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I love to sew, but I'm afraid of sewing clothing because I have never been able to wear any shirts sewn from a pattern.

Now that I have that quilt out of the way, I'm hankering to do more sewing and I'm feeling ballsy.

I need shirts. Summer is coming up and all my summer shirts are kind of worn out. I am stuck with wearing stretchy material shirts since I have such an ample chest. The shirts get stretched out of shape after a summer. Well, I want to wear shirts made out of non stretchy material. I think they would last longer and I could sew that type of fabric much easier. Anyway, here's my question:

My boobs are about a size 14 or XL, but the rest of me is about size 6 or S. (Does that sound crazy or what? I took a picture in case anyone has trouble visualizing it.) So I am wondering if it is feasible to buy size 14 clothes and take them in everywhere but the chestal region.

I don't know how to make my own clothing patterns so that's why I'm thinking about doing alterations like this. I should probably practice on some thrift store finds. Ooo - I like that idea. Does anyone else have any ideas or tips for me? Thank you!!!

I got a can of Krylon Short Cuts (hot pink) to paint my Nintendo Game Cube controller. It came out well, and I had some paint left over, so I taped off and sprayed this pair of slide sandals I got from Payless a year or two ago that became discolored.

They look fabulous, and I was very suprised how well it turned out.

The thing is, though, is that the paint is dry, but it is tacky. The shoes, for instance, keep attracting and having fuzz and lint and floor junk stick to them. The nintendo controller is not that bad, it just feels different.

Is there any sealant that I can use? I thought about Arcrylic Glossy Sealer spray-on, but was wondering if anyone had a better suggestion. Thanks for your help!

My friend is getting married on the 12th of may and I am making her a necklace..I don't have a lot of money...but I already have the beads, the clasp...etc...
What would be the best string/thread/whatever to use to ensure that it holds up?
I can go purchase something, but I can't spend more than $5 (tops) on it..heh...and I don't want to use regular string.
It won't be a heavy necklace, but it's not light either.
What are your suggestions?
