AOHell tin!

Used first class postage stamps (all $0.33's and $0.34's, except the left aka bottom tin has a few first class UK stamps), glued on with tacky glue, then two coats of liquid laminate over it (sorry, no Mod-Podge, because the liquid laminate can stand getting a little damp). My case-less burned CDs now have a pretty home that all my other CDs can be jealous of!

hi, so i found these:

http://www.chatstrap.com/

and i want one so hard core - but i don't have like $50-something to spend on a cell phone holder.

so...does anyone have any idea on how to make one?

i had been thinking that i could sew a band to go around my wrist and then sew some thick elastic that would go right over that strap but not be sewn for the width of my phone and just slip the phone between the strap and the elastic and then put a patch or something on the top of the elastic - but i would assume the phone would just slip right out from between the two layers. so anyone else have an idea?

sorry for posting a question, but i really don't know what to do. i can't even seem to find a plain one somewhere cheap and decorate it.

thanks!!!

So i have a dilema. i bought the cutest fabric. I have bright pink and some black and white houndstooth and i want to make a skirt sooooooooo baddddddd. Does anyone have any links to how to make skirts out of just fabric, not a t-shirt or anything. any kind of skirt will do, i really like the 50's style a-line skirts especially. Thanks in advance!

ps - i did look in the memories but i couldn't find anything! bah!

this is kind of crafty. and i want to contribute something to the community, so here goes...

i finally hung up a print that my boyfriend made a few weeks ago. he took a photo of us into photoshop, selected our features, shadows, etc. took it to kinkos and printed it out on orange paper for $12.

i added a black frame around it and hung it up tonight.
the images are behind the cut, plus how he/we created it...

I'm really sorry to cross post this, but I've looked back over a week in three diff. communities ([livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl, [livejournal.com profile] crochet, & [livejournal.com profile] knitting), and I can't find the post I'm looking for....and running on 4 hrs. of sleep for the past two days, I can't even remember which community it was in. :/

Someone had posted about a Nyarr-chan (from the web comic Strange Candy) doll that they had made that I think was for a friend's little sister to put on her monitor maybe? I just wanted to get another look at it & maybe try to make one myself. :) Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

My boyfriend has a bunch of clear glass panes that were once used in a kind of shelving unit. There are probably about 20-25 of them, and they are rectangular in shape, maybe 3 feet by 5 inches. We're clearing things out and they're going, unless I can think of something totally rad to do with them.

Or unless YOU all can think of something totally rad to do with them...

Help? It breaks my heart to throw them out.

my last post was deleted because, i'm assuming, i mentioned that i was trying to make money for a plane ticket. i was not, however, trying to sell the things pictured. they are already sold.

i'll post the pictures again, just because i'm proud of myself. i made all of these in about a four-five week period. they are in reverse chronological order, more or less.

I'm going to the Hardware store soon and I wanted to make something crafty with magnetic paint. Do you think that I could get it there or do I have to go to a craft store? I really want to do a craft with items like pipe or something for the semi-industrial look. I dont' want it just for decoration though, I want to be able to make use of it. Please say anything that comes to mind!! Thanks!

I need to seal the paint inside of coke bottles so it doesnt crack away, but I can't use my decoupage stuff because it's too thick to pour in there.
is there spray seal stuff? Could hair spray possible work? (i'm cheap and don't want to buy anymore supplies for this gift).

So.. this summer, I'm going to be going to England, Ireland, and Wales for a month. The group I'm going with requires us to keep a notes of what's going on, what we did, etc... So last night I got a little bored and...attacked mine.

After that, I decided to mutilate a little box I recieved as a white elephant gift.

And here are the results )

So here is my skirt! This is the first time I've reconstructed something to make it more functional. It used to be PJ pants that I bought from Abercrombie & Fitch at Faneuil Hall in Boston 2 spring breaks ago, as an emergency...it was booty cold, I was in shorts, and I needed to cover up my legs!

EDIT: Pictures are now FIXED!

glass beads

I looked in the memories sections and found one entry under "beads," but I was wondering if else makes their own glass beads. I was wondering what ages people were that did this. I read websites about it and it sounds like something my parents would forbid me to do since I'm 16. They would probably think I'd burn down the house, even if I did it outside. Well, these glass beads are everywhere and my friend and I really want to give it a try. Sounds a little pricey for class, supplies, and whatnot. The beads come out beautifully though.

Any horror stories? Any words of advice?

I've already posted this post, but it was a mess because the pictures wouldn't show up and when they did, they took more more than all of the screen. So here is a repost.

I have this really old PDA my father gave me years ago. I was wondering if anyone has decorated anything that had to do with technological stuff. I'm not at all technoligal savvy, so I was wondering. Is decoupage a no go because I don't think I could take this apart without breaking it. Would colored permanent markers hurt it? If not, is there such thing as metallic permanent markers? =) Thanks.

So I got a lovely pair of old red hi-top chucks (for a dollar!!!) at a garage sale, but I don't like them red. I already primed them white for designing, but I need a little inspiration. Does anyone know of any good shoe decoration/design/reconstruction sites besides the custokicks community?

thanks muchly.
