I recently aquired a cork board/memo board. It's a cork board with a plain wood border. Anyways, I wanted to put black feather around it (like a feather rope? Er...what are those called?). Kind of like a boa but not so huge and poofy? Anyways, I was wondering where I could get the "feather rope". And what I should use to apply it to the wooden border.

Thanks tons and bunches in advance.

P.S. Where's a place to get quirky, unique push pins and stuff to hold things onto the cork board?

Hi all, I just thought I would mention this here in case anyone else finds it useful. I recently bought a *lot* of unmounted rubber stamps. Unmounted stamps can be purchased for a lot cheaper than mounted stamps. In my case, the ones I was interested in were only offered unmounted so I had no choice.

Anyway, the traditional way of mounting them is to cut out the stamps, glue them to foam, glue the foam to wood and wait up to 48 hours for them to dry. If you don't have wood of the appropriate size you have to cut it up and sand the edges. This can get to be a pain in the butt.

However I found this: http://sundayint.com/mall/MAPage1.asp
It's a new way of mounting stamps using acrylic blocks and a special foam that clings to the blocks temporarily. There are several cool things about this method: )

So this year I'm almost positive I'm going to participate in the Renegade Craft Fair. I'll be selling buttons and stickers that my boyfriend and I already make and sell.

ANYWAY
I realized I have a crapload of fabric scraps so I decided to make some coinpurses to sell as well. but I want them to say sassy things like: "I'm too punk rock" "die" "pay up, fucker" "I kill zombies" and a some other things we already have on buttons.

I was wondering
1) What would you pay for a 5"x4" coinpurse?
(I was thinking 6 dollars maybe)
2) is that a good size?
3) What else should these things say?
(this is the kind of stuff I have in mind already)
I'm really sorry if this is considered breaking the rules, but I thought I should link to the site to give people an idea of what my sense of humor is etc.

your help will be MUCH appreciated
thanks, -kate

Hi question... has anyone in here run across any Alice in Wonderland fabric anyplace? I've found a few people on ebay that have it but it seems to be rare and therefore astronomically priced. Any rendition of Alice + Friends is fine (Disney or anybody else's). Basically, I'm doing an Alice in Wonderland bathroom in my new apartment and I'd like to make a shower curtain (clear plastic on the water side, cloth on the outside). If nobody has seen any fabric, can you give me a good lead on fabric stores that carry cotton prints of teacups and teapots? I could use that instead and still keep with the theme or, if all else fails, I'm could just applique a bunch of tea-things all over a panel of fabric for the outer curtain.

I just posted in a bunch of Nintendo communities about my storage woes for my video game controllers and no one really had any good ideas. A few people said "a box" and most of the others said to wrap the wires around the controller then throw it in the box and the few remaining people said to buy wavebirds or put hooks on the walls. The problems with these suggestions are 1. why wouldn't I just leave them on the floor? I'm looking for orginaztion not tangled chaos. 2. When you coil wire like that you fatigue the metal in the wire...not good. 3. Three out of four of my systems are pre 1999 which means no wavebirds are available. 4. I already thought of a hook in the wall. I want something that looks good and at the same time is practical and easy. So there's your challenge. I did have one idea that I thought was kind of cool/creepy but not very practical. Use mannequin hands attatched to a shelf to hold the controllers. Read more... )

My first bag project, inspired by the alligator purse (though nonreversible, because I was lazy).

It's mediocre and a little small, but oh well.

hey all! I'm a member of an organization called soldiersangels (soldiersangels.com if any you all are interested) and I'm trying to make a quilt/blanket type thing for the marine I sent care packages to. I'ts going to have some sort of patriotic them, maybe in the shape of a flag or maybe just that color scheme but i want to somehow incorporate a whole bunch of letters people have sent to me to pass along telling the soldiers how much they appreciate and support them. I was thinking maybe a letter per square or making the letters into the stars on the flag but I'm not sure about how to do that. Do you gals have any suggestions? All of them would be greatly appreciated because all I can think to do would be iron on dealies that you print out and I've had bad experiance with those fading and cracking in the past. Thanks so much!
... oh, one last thing, i hope it isnt inappropriate. If any of you would like to send a letter/note of encouragement or support you could email me at dmbblonde17@hotmail.com.

Thank Y'all so much!

Apparently white is not an ink option on the computer...

Is there any way to take an iron on transfer off once it's ironed on?!?!?

I managed to make this purse out of extra fabric that a friend gave me. Now i'm stuck on what to use/make as purse handles.

INSIDE:

So it's fairly small (a handbag), but I would like to make an interesting handle on it...any thoughts/ideas/suggestions would be great appreciated!

Will the green button be a choker or a bracelet ?
I'd say I 'd prefer it as a bracelet but I'm not that sure because it will be very noisy everytime I move (...not necessary a bad thing, come to think of that ;-) ).

And the purple button would make a nice ring :-D

Thanks

PS : I hope the bic isn't too big?
