all this free time is going to my head and i've just gone crazy with creative thoughts. a few days ago i took out some frustration on a few vintage slips i don't wear anymore by adding lace, ruffles, stitching, and everything else i could think of. here's the result...

what do you guys think? xposted, hope nobody minds <3

Today I got a "Teach Yourself To Knit Kit' for crocheting my sister-in-law's mother a baby blanket. I told her she didn't owe me anything, but obviously she felt like she did. I am thrilled to have it. Tomorrow I will bust it out and attempt to knit.

Also, I have been in a painting mood lately. I painted my one nephew a train and I made my other nephew a name train. I wish my camera worked :(
I want to show pictures.
It is all coming out so good right now.

I have recently acquired about 60 sheets of scrapbook paper. 12x12. It has patterns on it, big ones, like pictures, so cutting it up to make envelopes would not be cool.
I also do not own any scrapbooking books.
I was thinking of taking the scrapbook paper and putting it in a square type shadow box frame and embellishing upon it. Does anyone understand what I am saying?
I think those would make awesome little presents. I am not sure they make 12x12 shadow boxes though.
Has anyone ever done anything like that before? Any tips?

At my school, we have a summer orientation program for the new incoming students, and I am one of the orientation leaders. (OL's) we have, within the program a secret ol, who we decorate a clipboard for to be used during the week of new student orientation...

anyway, I dont want to just collage/mod podge a bunch of pictures onto the clipboard, but it still needs to be fully functional... anyone have any ideas?

thanks!

Hi girls, I just wanted to post some pictures of some stuff I've made the past few days.

The first is a bag I made out of a home dec remnant and some batik lining. all of which I found at Joann's.

The second thing is a knitted hat I call my elf hat. It is made out of royal blue Lion Brand chenille yarn and an artificial flower I found laying around.

Hey all! I've been a longtime lurker and just got around to joining because I wanted to show off my first project in a long time.

My best friend's birthday is in July, and since I am leaving for school on Saturday, I wanted to get her gift ready before I left since she will be visiting me about a week before her actual birthday. Anyway, I had this idea to take a picture of us and then pixelate it in photoshop and put little pictures in the pixels. Then I realized that it is hot and I do not want to spend that much time in front of my computer.

So instead I printed the picture, taped it on my window to trace it since I am not artistically inclined, and then spent about 8 to 10 hours total gluing about a million seed pearls onto the picture to color it in:

look and see! )

A little under a year ago, I was askin help on what to do with an old Scrabble game I had....I got this one great idea from one of you guys who made some sort of wall hanging with words that were opposite of eachother (ie. war/peace) I was wondering if any of you knew what I was talkin about and if so, had the pic of it handy...I had it but it went bye bye when my computer crashed

Hello all you crafty people out in LJ land.

Been watching this community for a while and lemme just say.. YOU PEOPLE ARE AWESOME! I've seen some of the cleverest stuff here.

But enough with the complimenting... The Question:

I have one of those totally-overworn pyramid spiked belts and it split right down the middle. The buckle is on one side and is just your standard belt buckle thing.

My question is what should I make with it? Any and all suggestions are very very much appreciated.

♥ and thanks!

my bf loves the hat that naruto (anime) wears to sleep.
they sell it on this site:
http://genkigang.com/genkigang.html
(click store, then genkihats, then cosplay_hats, then it's the gray naruto pj hat).
it seems to just be sewn fleece and a pompom.. i'm thinking it'd be easy to make, but i'm not very good with sewing. anyone have a basic pattern i could follow and alter for this hat?

has anyone ever drilled anything for stringing?? i saw the cutest necklaces made from wooden scrabble letters, and i want to do the same - i have the threaded screw-in eyelets for the top of them, but is there any trick to getting them to go into the wood and stay there without tearing the letter to bits???
