I think this goes unanswered:

is there any way to drill holes into Fimo clay that has already been baked?
or is it too brittle and will it just shatter?

The day before yesterday i went to a craft store to buy some stuff, i ended up buying quite a lot of stuff but it was worth it ^^
I discovered that mod podge is available in the UK cos i bought some and it was only 99p! bargain! I bought it in Hobbycraft just to let you know, there are several spotted about the UK.
So anyway i spent all day yesterday making a bag, and i am really quite proud of it, it's turned out pretty good. I'll post a picture soon, but basically it is purple with a bright yellow lining, and it has a fairy on the bottom right hand corner, made out of felt. It's quite a small bag, and it has 2 handles.
So anyway, my question is, i want to do some silkscreen printing, i know what design i want to do, and i know it involves an embroidery ring, some paint stuff, and a t-shirt or what ever, but what fabric are you supposed to use, and would mod podge be ok to repel the paint, if you know what i mean?

Thanks ^^

After months of collecting bottlecaps, I finally have enough to cover a table. I have my design laid out perfectly. There's just one small problem, how should I attach the bottle caps? I originally wanted to pour a clear casting resin on top of it, but since I've never used it before, I didn't know if it would work well for this project. And the table doesn't have a lip on the edge, so there's also that problem. I suppose a grout would work...but such a pain! Any suggestions?

pictures of the table thus far...

Thanks in advance for any help. --Amy

A few days ago a friend of mine mentioned that she wanted a Saiyuki (anime) check book cover she found on e-bay. I thought it would be really neat to have a cool check book cover, myself, but I never stick with on theme for long, so I though, why not make one where you can change the picture? So I did. lol. It's kinda' rough around the edges, since this was my first attempt. I used some thin clear vinyl I got as a remnant at wally-world for the window on the front and I layered the plastic to make the tab on the top inside flap and the bottom flap for my duplicate checks. The window happened to get sewn on off-center (sewing vinyl is an interesting process) so I glued on some green crafty gemstones I had laying around. If anyone wants, I may try to make up some instructions sometime soon. Also, do you think these could be sold? I wouldn't know what to charge and I'd have to work out all the kinks, but I'm thinking about going to a craft show sometime in the future with a friend of mine. Anywho, just some thoughts...

The cool way to spend money!

I have all of these projects that i start but never finish. I cant seem to stay inspired, organized or focused on just one thing.
-what are you guy's tips for staying motivated?
-do you have a special work area of some sort?
-how do you organize your supplies?
-what are your favorite crafting magazines for new ideas?

thanks!

Hey kids! I need a lil' help.

I bought a pants suit (it's a one-piece affair made of super-stretchy material like something out of the 70s) that I want to turn into a gown (because the top is *beautiful* and so are the pants but for work-reasons it needs to be a gown and not pants). Would it be okay if I just cut it up the inseams and then sewed a seam in the front and a seam in the back? I might also only sew one side a bit and leave either a front slit or a back slit. This should be relatively simple, I'm thinking... I just wanted a little bit of advice (snags I might hit, tricks i might use) before I started cutting and pinning.

Thanks!

Eep. This is my first post in here. ^^; *nervous*

Anyway, I've been into crafting forever. Well, as long as I've been old enough to be able to do stuff. ^_^ Some of my recent projects include a crocheted chopstick case, a kitty blanket (actually a baby blanket but made of hardier yarn. ^^) and jean bags. I found the instructions in a book I have, for bookbags made of cut-off jeans. ^_^ My next project, as soon as I get the right yarns, will be two Harry Potter scarfs... one Gryffindor for me, and a Slytherin for my friend.

Anyway, I have a question. I have loads and loads of those little cardboard... folders? that you can get stickers in... the ones from machines. o.O I'm looking for more uses... so far I've just used them as little gift things... pretty them up and add them as a card... or invitation holders. ^_^ Those are fun to make: decorate the card, but an invitation or note inside, then secure it with a ribbon or sticker. But using them those ways gets tiring... and old. So if anyone knows what I'm talking about and has ideas, do post. ^_^

And while I'm at it, I hope this is okay.... I made a community about 5 minutes ago. [livejournal.com profile] craftyrecycling ^_^ It's small... and plain, but I'll fix 'er up soon.

Oh, and I just had another question: When I was a child... my mom used to make edible play-doh. I know that sounds odd, and icky, but I just want to fnd the recipe again. ^_^ I've tried google, but haven't had much luck finding the right one.
