hi everybody,

a couple of people lately have been asking about making duct tape shoes, etc, so i thought i'd throw this link out there.

these are art shoes, not designed to be worn, but you could probably base your ideas around them.

and if nothing else, art shoes would be cool too!

if this inspires you, post pictures! i can't wait to see what all you crafty folks come up with!

well with the glorious rain comes the bored mind. while during my couple of days of being stuck in the house with nothing to do but watch daytime tv, listen to music or sift through old kerrangs, which iv read a couple of hundred times, i desperately searched for something to do to ease my suffering.. so i made a box and collage :/ (wow) lol:

I'm new. I'm Andrea. I just wanted to show off my first attempt at silkscreening. Nothing real complicated or intricate. It took me about 5 times to get the timing right. I had to simplify my design so it would actually print. After one failed attempt, I bleached the whole thing and started over and then one part didn't wash out completely so I had to scrape off the photo emulsion with a needle so it would print correctly.
I figured I'd combine my love of gore, all things japanese, and crafts. Its a piece of art by suehiro maruo. I think I'm gonna print it on a tote bag or something.

Maruo! )

Hi everyone! There are some pics under the cut of jewelery I've made in the past few weeks, so please take a look! I apreciate all feedback, positive or negative. I've put numbers next to the pictures so that you can tell me which one you are talking about. Thanks if you check it out.. and extra thanks if you leave me feedback!

I'm planning on learning how to stencil on fabrics for the first time this weekend. I read online that you can use freezer paper as the stencil and iron that onto the fabric.

The only thing is, i looked in Wal-Mart last night for the freezer paper and i couldn't find it. I was told to get "Reynolds" brand, but i'm not too sure where to find it.

Can someone (perferably a canadian) help me find a store that sells freezer paper?

merci beaucoup.

more beadiness and some lavender.

I went on a winecharm craze as well as a lavenderstick craze. I must say, if ever you want to have a sound night's sleep, work on the sticks for a few hours, you'll sleep like a rock ^_~

okay, i need some help. I'm making a tote bag using clear inserts for photo albums (the thingies you put the photos in) but I'm using pictures I printed off the computer. I don't want to run the risk of the pictures getting water-damaged, so i want to sort of seal it shut. Would using a clothes iron work on it without ruining the picture? The plastic is really thin. If not, is there any other way I could do it?

Also wondering if I sew it together with fishing line, will it rip the plastic?

Gosh, this seemed easier when I started.

Many thanks in advance.

I made this for [livejournal.com profile] wickedandlost because I think she's wonderful.

It's a bracelet and a card (duh)

All the beads came from firemountaingems.com, it's all white/silver/clear with the black pearl in the center. You really can't appreciate how pretty it is until you see it up close. )

It's Czech seed beads and several handmade glass beads. My favorite are on either side of the pearl, they're clear with silver centers with tiny gemstone flecks of blue and red. It's not a real pearl. Boohoo, I know, but it is a high quality glass synthetic.

The card is in a handmade vellum envelope. I really like vellum envelopes because I always feel bad putting a really pretty card into something that completely covers it. It's got a metal K sticker on the front (K for Kyle) and a rose sticker on the back flap. I put it all together with my Xyron.

another picture of everything. )

I think I'm going to randomly send all my friends something. :)

Thanks

I don't have a sewing machine, but my creative juices won't take no for an answer. So here's what I did: I designed the shirt, then figured out what each panel would look like. Then I measured myself and put it all together. I used fusible hemming tape, instead of stitching! I wasn't sure if it would work, but it did! I haven't attempted to add zippers to any of my stuff yet, so it just slips on over the head.

I'm wearing it tonight to my best gal pal Sarah's birthday party )

Okay. Kayleigh and I had a craft day, and it was fun. More info at my LJ, including the whole story of our day. It's amusing, definitely worth a read. :)

If you're not up for that, just look at the pictures right hereeeeeeeeee )

I went to a huge glass bead show a couple weeks ago, and bought some pretty soft turquoise beads.

Here's what I made: )

I made a scarf this week. It was the one that was made of cords that didn't require knitting needles since I spent some time in a courthouse & they don't allow knitting needles.

here's a photo )

I dig it. It's very kid-like.
