hey everyone! I had a few questions for you all. I haven't been crafting due to extreme laziness but I have learned how to develop film and pictures! It's really great except I stink of sulfuric acid after ;-;.

1) I got this great scooter helmet (for free!) and i wanted to paint it. I wasn wondering, will plain acrylics with a spray on sealer afterwards do the trick? And if i wanted to decopage is, would that be hard to do?

2) I saw this lady on the bus with her son and she was wearing this really cool hat. it reminded me of the hood that falconers put on their birds. I couldn't find a picture so I drew it on my hand..

does anyone know how to make these hats? it looks like it's three pieces but I was wondering if anyone had a pattern or anyhting of the sort.

thanks! i'll be up running with posts soon hopefully!

I just got addicted to making beaded jewelry about a month ago, and it's become somewhat of an obsession.

Here's some of the stuff i've made that i really like. Please give me honest opinions! if you think something i made could be better, tell me why and how. if you think it sucks, tell me so. if you think it's awesome, i love you. :) Really, I just want feedback, because this is something I really enjoy doing, and my family just tells me everything I make is wonderful (even when I know it's not)

lots of pictures behind the cut.. not too large, though! )

I've posted about geocaching and letterboxing to [livejournal.com profile] craftgrrl a few times now, and I thought I'd share Sissy n' Cr's store with you all. They are a resource for getting custom-carved stamps. You send them the lineart, and for a really cheap price ($3 for up to 2 square inches) they'll laser-cut your art into a stamp material. They send you the unmounted stamp with adhesive, and then you just stick it to a piece of wood. Additional square inches can be purchased for $1/per inch.
I had these turned into stamps, and they cost me $3 each:

I was incredibly pleased with the results, and will be using them for any further stamps that I need.

And even if you don't letterbox or geocache, it's always nice to have a resource for a cheap stamp carver, usually things like this run $16 or more.

My new sewing machine I got for my birthday..

Some fabric I bought today

Anyone got any ideas for this fabric???
[identity profile] purgatori84.livejournal.com
1. Tee shirts in bulk.
2. Fabric ink that is heat set. Looking for Speedball, or some comparible brand.

I need them as cheap as possible. Help?
Online sources would be best.

Hi! I'm Katie and I'm 14. I've always wanted to try crafty things but I was never very good at the stuff you did at those daycamps. So I tried making a purse. I hand-sewed ALL of it, because the sewing machine and I have had issues in the past.

I've been lurking for a long time, but since I finally got off my fat lazy ass and bought some batteries for the digicam, I figured I'd ask not what this community can do for me but what I can do for this community. [EDIT: Now with Trek!]

Hey all...remember me?
This is the dress I am making:
http://www.coatsandclark.com/fun_and_free/yarn/lw1392.htm
I am at 6 1/2 inches on the skirt part and I expect to be finished with the skirt tomorrow.
I was thinking about making a hat, but I would like to make bloomers too for it or a diaper cover.
The size of the dress I am making is 9 months. Does anyone know of a diaper cover or bloomer crochet pattern on the internet?
I did a search, but I am horrible at finding patterns.
Any help would be appreciated.
[identity profile] sharmelon.livejournal.com
I made an attempt at the Jessica Simpson headband/scarf. While I wish mine was as colorful as hers, I settled for white Lionbrand Microspun yarn since it was soft, thin, and would go with just about any outfit. I worked on it on and off today with an H-sized crochet hook, and also followed the rough pattern as written out in this post, and ta-da!!

I'm going insane.
A couple days/weeks ago somebody posted pictures of notebooks made from hardcover childrens books. I've searched back through the previous entries, and for the life of my I can't find it.
Could anybody point me in the correct direction. I want to make them so bad.
