Hiya! Just wondering if you gals have any killer sites with step by step instructions on how to make prom garb out of duct tape. I'd really appreciate it, thanks! You guys are awesome! :)

Last night, while hanging out with friends, they got a phone call from another friend, looking for the phone number for a sub delivery place. Seems these boys wanted food, but have no phone book... silly boys... :)

But this got me thinking about what could be a pretty kewl Christmas gift for some of the guys on my list, who are notoriously difficult to shop for: some sort of magnet with the phone numbers of the assorted restaurants around town who deliver.

The difficulty I'm running into was what to make this out of...

Ideas )

So am I missing an obvious idea? I think the guys would really appreciate this sort of thing, but it does need to be kinda guy-ish... :)

I was cruising around the web and ran across this page

http://www.wrights.com/class/needlework/class_needle.htm

It has some interesting simple projects for beginning knit/crocet people.

I was also drooling over the idea of making this

and if I could get one down why not make the wreath

Hello!

I'm not sure how crafty this is - if it's unacceptable, I will delete it.

I'm moving, and I'm not sure what to do about the larger paintings I've done. Is it okay for me to remove the canvases from the frames and re-stretch them later? Or, will they never be able to retain their original form? If it is okay to re-stretch them, how often can this be done before it starts to damage the painting? Does anyone have any tips on successfully re-stretching a canvas?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what I could do with tictac boxes, I have hundreds of them and it seems a waste to throw them all away!

Just bought a new house, painted the insides of the cupboards in the kitchen, and lined those that needed it with the Easy Liner padded shelf lining stuff.

Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to gimme lots of cool, crafty ideas as to how to use the remaining yardage. It's 24" wide, and I would guess I have an extra 8-10 feet.

Ready? Go!

i just got the new crafter's choice book club flyer, and I reemmebr from the last flyer that there was a sale on two books, Hip KNits from the Better homes and gardens, and Last Minute Gifts by Joelle Hoverson. I want to order them, but i was just wondering how the projects in there are. Are they patterns i could find for free on the internet? Is it really worth getting??
There was also "Hot Knits" by Melissa Leapman in there, is that a good book?

Thanks for all the help (in advance, of course. =))

Whee! My first photo post! This was a stuffed animal designed with my boyfriend's adorable cat, Damian in mind. It was meant for Kyle but I fell in love with it and I'm holding it for myself. It's my first stuffed animal, no pattern- just seamstress chalk, denim, felt, embroidery thread and a lot of patience. And now I recall why I have avoided posting photos. One must learn though, eh? Thanks for bearing with me! ^_^ The sad thing is, all that fuss was for one crappy photo. I promise better photos in the future now that I've figured it out!

Woooo. In the 15 seconds I have to myself each day I finished my last christmas present (as well as a pair of swarovski earrings that refuse to photograph)

It's all glass. Druk beads, the foil lined pendant. It's hard to tell in the pics but it's clear, pink and dark rosy pink.

She's picky as all hell so hopefully she'll like it

:)

Thanks :-*!

I've been in such a crafty funk lately. I want to do something, anything, and then I start and put it down right away. I only have, oh, about twenty-five unfinished projects lying around from months ago, but now I'm starting nearly one a day and none can hold my interest. Oh, crafty addiction, stop being so frustrating!

I finally got the balls to try out my speedball kit with the photo emulsion and to try and do 2 colours. Here it is:

Edited to add: There are a bunch of how-to's in the comments if you're wondering how to get started.
