I desperately want these shoes (the bottom ones)

but I refuse to pay $40 for them. So I got the flats in this picture from the thrift store.

I was wondering what you guys think would be the best way to attach the sequins? The shoes are vinyl, so I'm not sure what kind of glue or adhesive would work. Thanks in advance for the imput.

I have this gorgeous hand dyed, hand spun wool, and am drawing a blank as to what to make with it. I originally bought it to trim a hat (using a blanket stitch), and that worked perfectly, but I have quite a bit left.
It is kind of thick, with an nice nubby uneven texture. I really am not a knitter and I don't crochet either, so I feel kind of stuck! Sewing is my forte, but maybe i could use if for some other kind of craft?
Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

display?

Hi girls:) My mom has agreed to get me a jewelry display dummy thing for Channukkah, and I just wondered if anyone knows of any good ones... I looked on Ebay but they didn't have what I was looking for... which is pretty much the neck of a woman, not just a flat piece with velvet or something on it. Preferably, it'd also have an ear to display earrings.
So if anyone knows any good websites/stores that sell them, please let me know:)

i've looked through the memories to see if i could find anything helpful for DIY screen printing. a lot of the things i've found helpful, but a few things i still need help on.

i've made the screen, and now i need to put the image on it. what is a good household product to use to block out the parts you don't want ink to go through? i want to be able to clean the screen and use it multiple times, and i don't have any modge podge, and i'm broke, so i need to use something i probably already have.

if i do find something to use, then what do i use to clean out the ink/paint from the screen?

any other tips would be great!

Does anyone know of any sites online where I can buy 8-12oz. clear plastic containers with lids? I don't want to buy more than 10-25 either, so keep that in mind. I really want these (http://www.sks-bottle.com/340c/fin118c.html), but the minimum order is $50... so something similar would be ideal.

so this week i made my first book clutch, and a mini-shrine thing for my dad's 50th bday (its really more like half of his bday present as the stuff i need to make the other half just came in today)

I finally successfully crocheted my first hat! I love it!

Hehe, and yes the random double crocheting was intentional. I kept getting bored!

so i had to borrow some money to buy some mod podge (really, that's how broke i am) and i started making my screen. i have been applying it rather thick and when i turned it over, it was dripping through a bunch on the back. is it normal for this to happen? am i applying it too thick? if it's normal, won't it kind of mess up where the ink goes because there is no smooth spot?

Wow, I haven't posted here for a while, I've been so busy. But since Christmas is coming up, I have a feeling I'm going to be crafting quite a bit.

Today I bought a cork bulletin board for my boyfriend. I'm thinking of painting the border and maybe glueing a bunch of those odl fashioned labels around the outside (glueing because I know the adhesive on the back of them doesn't work very well). I have a question though: how well does corkboard paint? I've never painted it before, and I don't think it would turn out looking bad at first, but does anyonen know what it looks like with tons of holes in it?

The other thing is for my birthday I got two pairs of the cutest socks ever, unfortunately they are too small. Does anyone know of a good way to use these socks (because they are incredibly awesome)

Sorry for just asking questions, next time I'll be sure to show some of my finished stuff.

I tend to doodle a lot during class, mostly monsters eating other monsters and that sort of thing so i decided to turn one of them into something cuddly.

Yay! My first real post! :) Anyways, I live in Flrida and we have a Flea Market/Antique "extravaganza" (I can't spell!) going on the 19-21. Today me and my mom went and I bought an old purse from one of the vendors, it was priced at $18, marked down to $8 ans sold to me for $5. The inside lineing was very grody :P, so I ripped it out, bought a vintage-y looking scarf (I think it IS vintage) and redid the inside with my trusty glue gun. I burnt my hand about a billion times but ya know..

Since my image hosts never work, I uploaded the pics and posted them on a Geocities webpage.

SInce thowe intials are clearly not mine, can anyone give me any ideas on what to do to the top and the lid, I wanted to paint in bright yellow to match the fabric, there is bright yellow in it even it you can't tell. Ideas are greatly appericated! :)

A long long time ago, my brother owned a Dreamcast. He had a game called Dead or Alive 2.
I instantly fell in love with the outfit of a character named Leifang. Now, my boyfriend and I just got ourselves an Xbox, and the first game I got was DOA3.
Now, back then, I wasn't into crafting, but now I am, so today I went on a quest to find a pattern or a tutorial for a dress like this, but with no luck.
So I guess LJ is my last option, and hopefully my saviour, as always :)
Does anyone have a pattern or a tutorial, or a link to a pattern or a tutorial, for such a dress?
If you know of a Swedish website that sells patterns for this dress, feel free to post that too, I would definitely pay for this pattern if I had to.

I havn't posted here to show things off in a while..

I made a skiiiiirt! With my new stripey fabric..
pictures of it )

I'm not sure whether to add white tulle or not.. I have enough fabric to make a second skirt like it, so maybe I'll have one with tulle and one without.. :)

I'm going to a fancy dress 18th birthday party in December, as a Ska Fairy, so I made a very bad "Ska Skirt", the quality isn't very good, but I'll only be wearing it for one night :)

I just purchased this scarf ) from Old Navy, since it got marked down to $10 online (which is probably the same amount, or less than I would've spent if I had attempted to make it).

My knitting is pretty beginner, but I'm always looking for challenges.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had a pattern or chart for the snowflake portion of that scarf (it's the pink part on red) or for the row of "X" type markings towards the end (near the fringe)? I'd like to be able to duplicate this pattern on bags and such, and maybe in other colors for gifts this Christmas.

Thanks in advance. :)

Hi! ♥

No, my dears, this isn't a what to get someone for a birthday question! :)

My mom is turning 50 this February, and we're throwing her a surprise party. Due to lack of funds...(Although having it at a hall is still not TOTALLY out of the question..) we're planning on throwing something at home... however, I'd like to make the decorations and party favors AMAZING.

When she was younger, her aunt would throw her Valentine's day themed parties, all of the girls wearing red, with old fashioned valentine's decorations...I'd really like to try to do SOMETHING similiar to this...but as inexpensive as possible...

Any suggestions on ways to make my house look a little more party friendly, while sticking to a VERY minimal budget? Any ideas, from seating, or creative foods, favors, lighting...or even where to start looking for vintage Valentine's decorations?

I'm quite desperate and have been looking online but finding nothing...

Thank you!

also, if you know any other communities where I could post this, PLEASE let me know!
