I know, it's not the most original thing. Props to whoever first came up with it.

I just hope he likes it :)  )

odd question:

i'm making a card for a baby boy. he doesn't use/have a pacifier [dummy in the UK]. so, would it be weird to put a pacifier embellishment on the card?

You heard me. Today, you should make a Conversation Heart Swag. I'm making one today for the Student Union Craft Center where I work. I've been wanting to make one for years, and just the other day I happed to come to this website again to find a project for my beginners class.

It's so easy too! I decided to make mine in all six colors: light green, purple, pink, light yellow, peach, and white. It's just not right to leave one out! I also used pink puffy paint with glitter in it. I found that the pain dries faster if you put all the hearts on saucers and put them in the fridge for a few hours. I used the sayings "cutie pie," "be true," "be mine," "hug me," "love me," and "hot stuff." Also, it's best if you make a 7 inch heart and add a quarter inch seam allowance before cutting the pattern out.

Does it take a special needle and/or thread for my machine to sew vinyl? I have tons of vinyl and I want to try and make a bag. Thanks!

I have a lot of button down shirts that are too big for me. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do/make with them?

I'm sorry for posting a probably repeated question, but the memories are down, and I just hope I don't get booted from the community.

I've tried the other stencil swap places, and I can't find a good one. A few months ago I found one that was great, with easy stencils. Also, it had many anti-Bush stencils, which I'm looking for. It also had a great Fight Club one.

Long story short; does anyone know the site I'm talking about? Or does anyone have a good stencil site?

thanks,
allie.

I'm desperately looking for a unique idea for wedding favors. I'm fairly crafty so I have no problem making something, but I'm woefully bereft of decent ideas.

One of my friends thought perhaps little bottles of honey with a little card that says something about how life and love is sweet as honey. I like the idea.. but I want to see what others my come up with. Any suggestions?

I just found this community a few days ago. What a great place! There are so many neat projects people are working on.

I just started a metal working class. Here is the project I made during the first class.

Hi there...
I'm thinking about investing in a button maker - especially for a theme party we're having this summer - so I've got a few questions:

1. What do you recommend in terms of the best sized buttons?
2. What other costs are included?
3. Any problems you have encountered?
4. Any brands you recommend/do NOT recommend?

I've tried looking this kind of stuff up in the memories, but it's not working so I figured I'm home-free! I've also tried looking at a few craft store websites but they don't give you much information besides the actual cost of the button maker!

I'm also wondering where you think I should buy it? Please note that I live in Ottawa, and we don't have "Joanns" in Canada (as far as I know)...

Thanks for your help!

I just remembered the name of a catalogue that my mother used to get a while back. I went to the website and found that the prices are cheap, you can request a catalogue and they have little somewhat cheesy craft kits and all sorts of things like that. It's great if you need something to do with little kids or you need party supplies.

Anyway: http://www.orientaltrading.com

Enjoy!

i know posts like this get tiring, and all of my posts i've done so far have included projects, but i'm really stuck on this one here..

so i messed up on a black hoodie with some words.. so i went over it in white, and plan on putting words on the white paint, in black paint. (still following me here? heh).. now, i was planning to stencil the words on using freezer paper. well, my question is, will the freezer paper stick to the white paint when i iron it down? will the white paint peel off when i take the freezer paper off? will the iron stick to the paint and peel it off? any help on this topic really soon would be wonderful. :)

ok... I'm stenciling on a shirt for my boyfriend and I need to know what the best paint to use is. What will last a long time? What looks good? sorry for the text only, I'll post the shirt when I'm finished with it.

Hi everyone,

My friends birthday is today (procrastinate much?) and I'm giving her her present tomorrow when we take her out to dinner. Now, I made her a purse and bought and made a bunch of stuff to go in the purse. Hand cream, a nail kit, tampon pouch, a small first aid kit, a wallet that turned out horribly wrong. Is there anything else that I could add? Any ideas would be great! Thanks so much!

And I'll post pictures as soon as my brother gets home so I can steal his camera. ;)

Inspired by the Acme Heart maker thingy...

http://snipurl.com/cqly

THe text says:

I visited the Acme Candy Factory to buy you some valentine’s hearts…

All I could afford were the Mistake candies…

I hope you enjoy them!

(then there are some f'd up conversation hearts, such as my fav, "STFU MKAY")

Then it says:

When I reached my hand in the bag and pulled out the last piece of candy I knew it was meant for you. (The last little heart says "Best Frnd").

I made it for my bst frnd [livejournal.com profile] brokenwishfish. I'll mail it tomorrow.

I made my BF a v-day card, but didn't get pics of it, it was the story of two hearts... really sappy, but he liked it..

Hello, long-time lurker/first-time poster.
I have a question about putting some color on a piece of wood. I have a thin, lightweight, and very pale wooden heart cut-out. It's about 8 inches long and probably made from balsa. I want to put a rather complicated picture in the center, using ink or wood-burning, colored pencil & possibly acrylic paint. The problem is, the design will leave a lot of bare wood showing. It's just so white, I don't think that would go well with the picture I have in mind. I don't want to paint it a solid color and the woodstains I do have are just too dark.
Do you think that soaking it in tea or coffee would be a good idea? I don't want a lot of color, just something to get rid of the brightness & add a bit of 'depth' to the wood.
Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Just cause I'm curious.. whats the *weirdest* thing you've ever crafted?

Weird in the "Why'd I make this/what will I do with it/why am I being paid to make this?"

Mine is a Prince Charming coat. THe Disney Prince Charming. I made the red pants with the goldenrod stripe down the outseam too. It was for a friend of a friends wedding. He was going to show up to the reception as Prince Charming to sweep his new wife off her feet. Romantic? Maybe.. Did he look like a marching band leader missing his hat? yes.

I did take a pic of said coat for posterity.

I've started screenprinting (for the very first time) and am on the white inked shirts. But the ink isn't going on opaquely (yeah, I think that's the right word?) enough and when i try to put on more ink, it just bleeds. help! What can I do? Should I just screen the shirts once and go back over it a second time after drying? The black inked shirts gave me no trouble at all.

I was wondering if it would be OK to put crayons in the oven. I made some crayon hearts with the crayons between the wax paper with the iron. I liked how it turned out but there were not thick enough for my liking. So could you put crayon shavings on some aluminum foil and then melt them, thus making a sheet of melted crayons?

Thanks in advance!

I'm a bad person because I'm a procrastinator. But I really want to make my good friend, Amanda, a Valentine's Day present, and I was thinking about smoking accessories. Like, maybe a cigarette case, those cool, fancy cigarette filter things, or maybe a little purse for her cigarettes and lighters to go in her backpack or purse. The things is, I'm not a smoker, so I'm not too sure what could be useful AND cute. Any ideas?
Thanks so much!

Is it ok to use these ) eyelet thingies when making Artist Trading/Playing Cards? I mean is it acceptable/the norm or is it frowned upon?

I made this necklace in september and posted it in my personal journal. The description from there is also behind the cut. There was a post recently with a site that had jewelry made from computer parts that reminded me to post this. Any suggestions on how to cut computer guts into small pieces?

Alright, so I'm trying to screen print some onsies for the moms-to-be's basket. I've done this before, but with much less detail, and larger lines. Does anyone know a good method to do thin lines? I have all sorts of glue, but am currently using modge podge, for its permanancy(sp?). They came out ok...Just not perfect! Any good ideas would be great, I haven't yet printed on the onsies, that are long sleeve!
Thanks!
