Finally got a camera, so would like to display my most recent project

The transfer was made using muslin and fusible webbing. I ironed the muslin to one side, left the paper on so I could feed it through the printer. Took a scan of Miss Happiness and Miss Flower by Rumer Godden, and then printed it onto the webbing. Peeled the paper off and then realized the black and white floral print would show through, so ironed it onto a second piece of muslin, cut it a little and then zigzag stitched it onto the black and white floral. Both fabrics were remnants picked up at my local thrift.

It's been a while since I posted anything pursey. I was looking at all the recent mag bags and thought to myself... I can totally make one of those... So I did! (beware, several pictures) )

alright, this isn't so exciting because it's an indoor photo. i found the SOFTEST velour-ish fabric - the stuff that baby stuffies are made out of nowadays. it's almost two feet big and it's one of the few things i don't make for the shop. (i don't even make myself any earrings and pouches, believe it or not). it's for my boyfriend, who's been gone of vacation for three weeks. he calls me sprout and i love him.

New to the community, wanted to say hi, and ask a quick question.
I am started to make jewelry, but the holes in the beads I want to use are just a wee bit too small to fit on the chain that I want them to. Is there any sort of drill or device I can use to make the hole bigger? Thanks so much for any help!

This little task of mine has been driving me up the walls! I swear there should be claw marks.

I am working on building a Victorian costume for a monthly improv event for a character that is non-materialistic (by Victorian standards) so simpler is better. What I have been thinking to do is modify an old 70s white Gunne Sax dress to add a little bustle amongst other things.

The problem is that these don't seem to come in amazon sizes. I'm muscular, about 5'11, and will likely need to find a size 16 somewhere (normally I'd say 14 but Gunnies run small from what I hear), to alter. I know I'm not skilled enough to make an entire Victorian/pseudo-Victorian dress from scratch.

It feels like I've been searching everywhere. I've been on e-bay, resale shops, thift stores, internet businesses and NOTHING. Does anyone have any ideas of where I might be able to look to find one in an appropiate size? If not, does anyone have any ideas to help with this little costuming project?

Any help would be much appreciated. : /

Thanks!

I used all scraps except for the orange and that is what I used on the back. An old friend of mine was playing around with my scraps and came up with the square idea and since she never finished it I decided to. My sisters favorite color is orange and most of the fabric I used it left overs from projects I made for her. I have been sewing for over 15 years but only started quilting about a year ago so this is like the 3rd one I have done. Take a look !

So, I decided that it was time to retire my packaging-tape Olympic wallet for the time being. It had been holding up since last August, and, well, it still looked great, but I got bored.

A month back or so I got a shipment of free swatches from Smith and Nobles. Since the swatches were small, I really had no idea what to use them for until I saw this yesterday. Then everything became clear.

I whipped out some newspaper, cut myself a pattern, and started to sew. One hour later, I had this beauty, almost done.
Unfortunately, I had homework to finish, so my project got slightly postponed.

Today after school I sat down with my lovely ipod, Sylvia, and hand-sewed the walled closed, and then began to model it in various positions. The wallet is so photogenic. )

Okay, general question here, some what crafty... I just need help! :(

My mother accidently bleached my favorite pair of pink Dickies pants and I'd to dye them back but I've never used any kind of fabric dye before.

Can anyone recommend a brand (Rit etc.) and give some tips and tricks for coloring my pants?

Should I go black or pink? I'm afraid the black will look faded.

The pants are 60% cotton and 40% polyester.

This is a clutch I crotcheted. I sewed a black piece of yarn around the border and than added a little decoration in the corner. Lastly, I added a big button...I'm not sure what else i should do or if anyone has any suggestions about how to fix the next one i make..please tell.

I'm taking a Garment Structures course at my school (www.cca.edu) this summer and I'm interested in making a hooded sweatshirt with a zipper and ears and a tail and all that. I've purchased some old stuffed animal patterns on eBay to teach me how to make ears and tails and things, but I haven't run across a decent pattern for a zippered hoodie yet. Does anyone have any suggestions for zippered hoodie patterns that I could buy or find online?

I'm also interested in making animal/monster costumes and I've gotten some really basic costume patterns, but none of them are as advanced as I'd like. I'd like to make something that involves a certain amount of upholstery/foam padding since I'm also taking an upholstery course. I've only been able to find very simple all-cloth costumes so far so I'm starting to think that if I want to do anything more complicated I'll have to design it myself, but I thought I'd see if any of you had any ideas.

PS: I hope it's ok for guys to post here! One of my friends recommended this community to me.
