This might be a silly question to ask, but I figure heck, why not?

I really like crafting. I enjoy crocheting and "screen printing" and whatever else I can come up with. But that's my problem: I'm not good at coming up with stuff.

I've got a bit of free time here and there now, but my patience isn't feeling high enough to start "long" projects (like scrapbooking--I am the crappiest scrapbooker EVER). I want something fun, mildly complex, not hooorribly messy (or anything that makes fumes), and has a pretty quick gratification turn around.

I'm drawing complete blanks after two semesters filled with classes and work, so any suggestions you guys can come up with are more than welcome. Thanks!

so this is the first thing i made with my new sewing machine. i was just going to make a plain ol' pillow, but then i had some ribbon that matched, so i decided to make it for my friend, hanna. hence the H. the back side is blue with turquoise and yellow polka dots. the yellow looks orange, but it's not. it's kinda small, too. just a little throw pillow, not a full size one. but i still love it. : )

next i plan on making a pink tweed purse with pink silk lining. i just don't know what kind of purse yet. if anyone has any good ideas... let me know!

EDIT: does anyone know how to make those gum wrapper chains? ever since i saw the movie 28 days, i've wanted to make one.

I've been working hard lately, so all I've been getting done are smaller projects or little pieces of projects. This working stuff is for the birds! I guess thats why they call it work and not play. :) Anyway... I've finished a Box and a Bag. My First Sewn bag ever. I would love all opinions.. and constructive critisism. I've quilted before but never made anything functional.
Anyway....

I bought Eagles tickets for my mom and me for an October show in San Jose. I haven’t told her yet, so I’d like to find a weird/creative way to present them to her. I didn’t purchase them for a reason (i.e. Birthday) so I can package them any way I’d like. I want to stay away from the simple envelope methods but still stay in the free/cheap category. Any ideas?

I know that this isn't exactly the point of this community, but I don't think I've seen a community of nicer people. So, I could use a bit of help.

What is the best type of polymer clay sealant? Something that doesn't peel off, or have a tacky finish.
Thanks for your help.

does anyone here know if it's possible to make your own rub-on letters or images? i was thinking maybe something with waxed paper would work? but i have no idea! i have some images that i'd love to turn into rub-ons, but i don't have a clue how to do it...

and, transparencies - kinko's can make these, right? can they do them in any color?

So I have been spinning a lot lately, and I was hoping some of you knitters and fiber people could check out my work.

Here are the questions:

1. How do these yarns look to the unbiased? They are all my babies, and I love them, but I could be biased.
2. Do they look good enough to sell? NOTE TO MODS: I'm not selling them, but wondering if they are of selling quality. You see, I was hoping to quit my job (working very part time for the MAN), and was looking for some extra cash, plus there's no way I can keep up with my spinning by knitting it all.

If this is inappropriate (I hope it's not) please ask me nicely to remove it and I will.
Thanks for any feedback in advance. By all means, tell me what I can do better, and what you like. THANKS!

i don't mind telling you all i was a bit reluctant to dive into making my own paper. i've plagued you with questions and read more tutorials than i can possibly remember. but in the end, i'm really super happy about how the paper is turning out.

ETA: ironing the pages dry results in silky paper surface. i'm going to mist the green ones and redry them with the iron. the purple sheets turned out much thinner than the green.

My junior high school prom was on Friday (the thirteenth hah) and I wanted to be the belle of the ball. So I decided I must have long, golden gloves and a lovely little parasol that I saw in KB Toys last summer. Sadly, the parasol and gloves were shockingly white- colors that would truly clash with my ivory dress. So I got some Writ Dye and got to work.

Another "love love panda" amigirumi -- this one is for my boyfriend, Nick. :) And he has felt eyes & a mouth, rather than the whole aviator/sunglasses deal as seen on the firstone.

Invitations I finished for my cousin's kids. The hearts and the seagulls popup a bit b/c of thick double-sided tape. :)

I'm getting married next November and would like to make a wedding quilt. The idea is that I will have the guests signs a quilting square and then put all of those together to make a quilt. I love this idea but there's a problem. I have absolutely NO clue how to quilt. I know nothing about quilting. Any tips would be appreciated. Websites that are great for idiots would be perfect! I dont even know what kind of fabric to use for the squares. *LOL* Yea I know nothing about sewing or quilting. Thanks in advance!

woot! School is finally out, prom is over with, so now I can sew to my little heart's desire!!

Here is my first garment of the summer, a babydoll dress!! I was inspired by the fabric which just screamed to make something cute out of it.

Pearl straps, empire waist, hand boxpleated (ah), invisible zipper, hook & eye. I completely did this with the sewing machine. I was being a poop and didnt want to be unlazy and change the color thread on my serger. Thus, I took the longer way and just did it on my sewing machine.

I am so happy with it too!! It turned out exactly how I envisioned, and that never happens.
Wow, you can actually tell I have boobs, that never happens either.
