one of my kanzashi-style flowers in action:

this one that i'm wearing is made
of cute printed muslin and measures
2" in diameter. it's attached to
an elastic hair tie and makes a
great everyday accessory.
i wear this one all the time.

I don't remember if I posted this earlier, but I don't think I did....

anyway, I sewed a dress for my scho0ol fashion show/my fashion exam. easiest course EVERRRRRRR.
Some sort of cotton-poly blend fabric uh duuuhhh no, it's just cotton fabric (blah i hate when i get all dumb) for the black and the white and black, the red part is all broadcloth (also cotton, i believe, maybe, i dunno?).

I'm pretty proud of how it turned out, pretty professional looking in real life, if i do say so myself.
I had photos of the other outfits I made for the fashion show, but they all got lost on my last computer cleanout.

Anyone know where I can find a doggy t-shirt pattern?
All I can find are crochet ones, and I don't want that. I'm planning on putting a logo on the side, probably an iron-on one, and it'll just look dumb on crochet I think.
I don't even know how to crochet anyway.

Thanks.

While watching Hitch with my husband the other night I made this, it is sooo soft and took almost two balls of Patons Carmen using a "J" hook.

Hi, I've been making totes and other types of bags in the hopes of starting my own little line and selling them. I've made a few already without interfacing, but I'm realizing that the bags would most likely be better with interfacing.

My question:

What type/brand of interfacing would you all recommend for totes and other handbags?

I checked the memories but couldn't find an answer.

All suggestions are welcome, and thanks to anyone who helps!

I have a dining table with inset tiles. I don't like the pattern on the tiles, so I'd like to redo them. I was thinking of trying PermEnamel. If anyone has used this, I'd be curious to hear how well it turned out.

Thanks so much. Sorry if this has been covered, but like I said the memeories aren't working.

I created these ornaments using paperclay and a dolphin rubber stamp then painted them with acrylics and think they turned out pretty cool.

Awhile ago I made my friend a matching kinchaku (Japanese style drawstring bag) and tsumami hairpins (the kanzashi flowers everyone is making.) I thought I'd show them off! The best part is probably the fabric she picked out--she has great taste!
Have a look. )

Someone posted a verboten ebay link today for some Collage Pendants and I wanted to share that they are wicked easy to make with a few of the right tools.

Assemble thin papers/paint/flowers/and stuff between two pieces of glass- Cleaned with vinegar (microscope slides are awesome for this) take copper tape (avail. at stained glass stores) and wrap it around the edges, then using solder / flux and an soldering iron, put solder around the edges. Then take a jump ring dipped in flux (for jewelry) and when you get to the top of the piece, get a friend to hold the ring in place as you fill in the solder around it.

Repeat for the back side. Allow to cool, clean with windex, then wear!

We're opeing the call for vendor submissions, so if you or anyone you know and/or love are in or around Minnesota, have them apply! All the info is on the website (http://www.nocoastcraft.com).

I saw a while ago that someone had made a belt out of an old NES controller, and decided to make my own. :)

The controller is plastic cased, and the belt buckle I'm using is metal. It's one of those slide-type belts, if that helps.

My question is, what kind of glue should I use? Superglue? Hot glue? Craft Bond?

Sorry for the text post - I promise I'll post pics of the finished product as soon as my camera's working again. :)

I painted a new box of a Siamese Cat wearing a witch hat, ( I just love Halloween can you tell!) I used a sparkly blue in the background and the moon has a blue sheen added to it also there are highlights on the tree in a gold metalic paints.

The inside of the box has three cat paw prints painted inside it.

The box is made of wood and measures 7.75 inches long, by 5.75 inches wide, by 3.25 inches tall.

Hello all! I have been experimentin' with some new crafts, and I just wanted to share the results. I was inspired by [livejournal.com profile] spillyjane 's AMAZING embroidery she posted a few days ago. I tried my own hand at it. I was too lazy to do satin stitch on my curves, but next time, I think. Anyway, the pics are below the cut.

All right. I got this idea from one of the ladies at work. It can be a door hanger or you can make one for the rear-view mirror. But I put my own.. Nintendo spin on it, of course!

I think it might look really good in the blue. But this turned out good. I'm going to shorten the string a little and hang in on my rear-view in my car.

Thanks for lookin'!

A friend of mine went to the beach and sent me this adorable flamingo bobble head. I named him Sergio. The US Postal Service killed Sergio, and he arrived at my house in four pieces.

Obviously, the next step is to fix him. I have this stuff called Weldbond. It claims to "bond almost anything", like wood, concrete, plaster, tile, and foam plastic. Would this work on gluing my little ceramic flamingo back, or is there some sort of ceramic-specific glue that would work better?

I thought I'd check with you all-knowing crafty people before I did anything drastic.

Hello!

(this is not the crafty part)

Here in Portugal we have a ceremony of our college graduation. See the picture? That's a black leather briefcase/folder that all the students use during College to carry their books. This ceremony, it's called "Blessing of the folders" - translated it doesn't sound very good but in portuguese it does;) Each student that is going to graduate, carries that briefcase and a suit that represents the University. So, we put long shinny ribbons (don't know a better name in english for it), for the ceremony, of the colors of the course that we are majoring in. Mine were red and dark blue as you can see above. Each one of us bought many ribbons and gave one to each college friend for them to sign and write something about all those years together in college/with congratulations, etc. So, I wrote about 20 ribbons for friends but for my close friends I did some stencils drawings as well, on the end of the ribbons..

Here they are!the ribbons. )
