I am currently working on a Batman afghan for my son. I needed a short diversion so I made my daughter a little halter from this pattern. It worked up super fast and is adorable.

Shaggs (my boyfriend) and I made papier mache heads of ourselves. I kinda made a body for mine. He didn't want to, so I shoved him in a flower pot. We really don't look like our heads (at least I don't think so), but you can see for yourselves.

Okay girls. I need your help. I'm working on customizing some My Little Ponies and I have a rough sketch of what I want. I have a problem though. I don't know what I should make for the symbol for Earth. I have a fiery phoenix, a fishy, a dragon in clouds and then nothing. The pictures are behind the cut of the proposed ponies, but they're rather large (DSL/Cable recommended). Please advise!!!

Hello again! I made two more shirts, and a few people wanted a tutorial so I made a quick one. I also made my own fanny pack this morning, which was inspired by a post on here a couple days ago.

Has anyone tried using a jigsaw to cut records before?
Sawing with a blade works, but i think a jigsaw would cut the time in half.

for those of you who aren't familiar with a jigsaw:

planets

I made another pair.

These are made of amazonite, pearls, carnelian, citrine ... and some copper wire I ripped out of an old ac adapter. haha

I wanted them to be a jumble, like if all the planets were in a traffic jam.
They look like summer to me.

Look what I made! )

Its a earring holder for those who we're confused, like some of my friends. I dropped black paint on the plastic canvas part, so its kinda dirty looking, but I love it just the same. I needed something to put the tons of studs I had been buying since I started working at Claires. I hope you all like it! It was quite easy to make... just a memmory frame, plastic canvas, tacky glue and some paint! I love how fast acrylic paint dries... it makes decorating super easy and quick.

what's your favorite website for jewelry buying?
perhaps, a cheap place or one with free shipping and handling?

okay so i want to decorate my fabric lamp shade with paint and then decoupage a bunch of video game characters on it and then seal it all with mod podge (podgey)
is this totally stupid? will the paint melt or burn? will the podgey melt or burn? should i finish it all with a spray acyrilic sealer?
help?

On Crafters Coast to Coast today a lady covered her cell phone (faceplate) with little rhinestones ~ probably one of the nicest jobs I've seen. Unfortunently she never mentions which glue she uses (they never like to say brand names on the show) ~ but there is a pretty good tip for how to place the crystals using a stick & some lip balm. I know a lot of you girls have tried this yourself, or wanted to, so I thought you might want to check it out ;)

bedskirt

does anyone know how to make a bedskirt?
at least I think thats what that thing is that hangs down off your bed, making it to people can't see underneath.

I don't want people to see that I have about a million boxes of stuff under my bed. haha

I had some skeleton glow in the dark (which was a surprise to me) fabric that I had for some time. So I thought I'd finally do something with it. Using McCall's pattern #4455, I went for this top:

I still have to add some grommets and lacing in the front to complete the faux laced bodice look. It zips up on the left side. I had finished it and when was home, put it on and went into the bathroom (which was dark) and the skeletons were glowing!

Hola y'all. I got inspired by a tutorial on craftster, so I decided to start on it...at 4 am...in the living room...with everyone sleeping...which pretty much meant that i got yelled at by half-asleep family members.

Oh well.

Here it is!

a sewing question:

so i have a swimsuit like this

but it was one that didn't have straps, it had one little elastic piece that went around the neck. Unfortunately, I lost it. What would make a good replacement? Probably something elastic. I thought I might snip off a piece of coordinating fabric from like, the crotch or something...Or maybe just white. It's a really bizarre shade of green with white hawaiian flowers on it.

any ideas?

edit: you girls rock!

I hadn't made jewelry for a while when I decided to dig through my overfilled bead boxes and throw some things together. I need more feedback than what my mom gives me, which is nice, but not very constructive.

A question: Does anybody know of a good website to order silver wire from? I mean silver-silver, not silver colored. Right now I'm limited to using extra straightpins from the earrings [see the turquoise swirl ones] and so I never have a good length of wire to work with. Blegh.

Hi, guys.
I've just joined this community but I've been lurking for awhile now, and I must say I am impressed. You've got real talent and some great stuff. :)

So, in honour of my first post, here's a purse. It's the first one I've made.

Look! There's more )

I have just started stenciling, but been a lurker here for quite some
time. :)

I bought a t-shirt the other day, 95% cotton and 5% spandex.. I was
wondering if there'd be a problem stenciling on that, if it would crack
when stretched or whatever.. Or it would bleed horribly?

Any comments appreciated. :)

I have searched everywhere (no, seriously), and have been entirely unsuccessful. Does anyone know where I could find kisslock purse clasps online? I've found a couple on Ebay, but I'm looking to purchase a lot of them, not just one or two.

http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=6997&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=328&iMainCat=325

(That's what I'm looking for, in case they're called something different.)

Any help would make me want to throw you a parade.

This took a VERY long time, but it came out SO well.

I cut the stencils out in freezer paper (images that were edited from a photograph in Photoshop to make stencils...I'll explain more if anyone wants) and then painted with acrylic + textile medium, one layer at a time. Each color paint is a new stencil put on the image.
It looks really clean and yay! I'm happy with it. :)
