I'm a long time lurker and finally decided to show you gals and lads what I've been doing.

my boyfriend is having a hard time dealing with college issues (where to go, friends going away, etc.)so in efforts to cheer him up I decided he may need a little somethin from someone whom he loves...MOI!
this was kind of a "shrine"

As school is starting in two days, I felt the need of yet another bag.

Project: Camera Release is a project where a camera is sent around to six different people, they all snap photos, and the photos are displayed. It's a cross over between mail art and photography.

I created the zine to be able to document what was happening, plus I thought it'd be a lot of fun! It's my first zine, and I think I did pretty well.

The zine is 31 pages, black and white photocopy, measures 8x7". Handcarved stamps to decorate the front, the covers are made out of cardstock and all handbound by coptic stitch. As well as having all the photographs taking by the photographers in the project, there are little bios of the photographers, and each person was invited to include an additional submission, which could be anything (another photo, a story, etc.), and four people submitted additional things.

Here are some photos under the cut.

So... I made some stuff during boredom time in the past few weeks, so as my first post to the community I have decided to put it all into one super debut megapost. I hope you like. A bag, some boxes, and a critter. 8 pics! )

In my last post I showed off a purple Dora pillow that I made for my friend's daughter's 3rd birthday...

some more Dora pillows )

I have a couple of other projects that I'm working on, but I need to go buy some bigger knitting needles first. Right now all I have are size 2...and the yarn that I'm working with...it's killing me. Must buy bigger needles.

Hi everyone, I'm another long time lurker. I finally decided to get myself a journal so I can keep track of what I make.

I'm notorious for jumping between ideas randomly... I got inspired by the great stuff I've seen here and wanted to learn to use a sewing machine so I could make bigger stuff than I usually hand sew. Unfortunately, when I'd found one my mind wasn't really on sewing anymore, and I picked up a couple of cans of car paint I had lying around...

If anyone could give me advice on finishing off the bits I didn't want to spray at the time, that'd be great.

Coolest sewing machine on the block? )

Is there a way to adjust the intensity of the paint spray that comes out of a spray can? Say, if I wanted a fine mist instead of a heavy coat? Spraying through a screen even?

Hopefully this is considered crafty enough.

My little cousin's birthday is coming up and I would like to make a child's sofa like this:

for him.

Do any of you have an idea where I could find a pattern for something similiar to this? or any suggestions of how I could go about creating my own?

Thanks.

nothing too complicated (well, for me)
but i kind of like them...in order of creation as well

project #1

its memory wire + beads. not terribly complicated. but i think its kind of cute..the beads at the back (that look like they are glowing) are kind of a light greenish clear colour with a really light lining in the holes...

the ibis has landed:

embroidered Art Nouveau ibis motif
for pendant: 4.5" tall and 1.5" wide.

i essentially made up the patten for this
piece myself, having based it on a pre-
existing Art Nouveau enamel pendant.
this piece itself with soon be turned
into a rather showy pendant to complete
a friend's fabuluous hallowe'en costume.

I looked in the FAQ but no go. Anybody have a tut for making hair sticks? Or know of a good one? I found one on cratster but I don't have a belt sander so...

I'd like to use a record (shaped obviously) as a lampshade. Anyone have a clue as to whether a regular light bulb could melt it?

I went to a fair type of thing to sell some of the jewelery I've made. I thought I'd show you some pictures :) If you wonder where some of the patterns are from I will gladly tell you if I can remember it.

<3 beads.

I was wondering, when I've added crafgrrl as a "friend", will everyone in the community be able to see my "friends" entries?

Hi,

This is my first post. I'm really nervous I will mess up my lj cut. haha. I'm sure some of you have seen these tissue box covers before with faux fur hair and a plastic doll face. I bought one at a garage sale 6 years ago and have been making them as gifts. I recently decided to take the same idea and make it into a purse. Here is what I came up with:
