Hey Everyone, I haven't been active in quite some time but I thought I'd give you guys a taste of my crafty side inspired by my best friend, [livejournal.com profile] ___be_my_escape. She's awesome.

I've created a sweatshirt boho type bag. I like it.

Over the last few months I have been going through each and every one of the memories ~ deleting, renaming, rearranging. It is now complete!

details of the changes )

New Additions ~
Now that the old posts are cleaned out and organized, I would like to add some new ones to the memories.
If there is a post you have always thought should be in the memories, please comment below with the link. This is only for posts that were made to craftgrrl. (please do not leave a list of only your own posts you would like to see added, but the posts you have found the most helpful)

I would prefer posts with:
(1)Tutorials that have pictures, (2)A question that got a lot of good answers, or (3)Innovative ideas, with information on how the project was created (but might not have a full tutorial)

so, i'm altering some underwear and i was wonder...
can you punch holes in cotton underwear to weave a ribbon through without it fraying? i mean without grommets, since i dont think they'd be comfortable, or do they have really smooth ones and wouldn't scratch you?

or should i just weave it through with a needle and not make holes at all?

btw, i've never really done any serious clothing alterations before. well, nothing besides *snip snip* *riiiiip*

oh, and while i'm making a post...
how hard would it be to dye a plain canvas tote bag?

So I FINALLY took pictures of the messenger bag I made for carrying my stuff to my various classes. After 10 hours of free-hand embroidering the birds with no pattern, I was left with wonderful messenger bag pocket goodness.

i made this the other day to try to sell at a craft show coming up. i made it up myself, no pattern, but the idea was inspired by these from the 60's. i think some pictures of myself wearing it are way creepy.

here are other views, and some vague how-to instructions )

So I bought a bunch of wooden beads at Walmart. I've made a couple bracelets. But I'd like to make something a little more unique, and possibly a couple necklaces. I have hemp, tigertail, and those clear stretchy stuff.

Any suggestions?

Here are some of the beads I have..

Our dog has taken to pulling clothes off the line and chewing them up to various degrees. He ripped the crouch out of my sisters favorite pair of jeans and I showed her to this group for ideas. Under the cut is her first project with the jeans.

Not even 24 hours ago, I sat down to teach myself how to make a hat...
I made the Simply Cloche from the Hip to Crochet book.
I ended up with a bit of leftover yarn (I used Manos del Uruguay's Manos Cotton Stria) I decided to try a go at basic lace and ended up with a sort of scarf/headband tie thing.
Nice day for a sulk... )
