Ok. I know this kind of post usually isn't allowed, but I work (read: pull out staples 8 hrs a day) at a company where information about customers is put on disk and after a month, they can either reformat them or trash them. Because reformatting maybe 30 disks takes for-ever they usually end up trashing them. That seemed like such a waste to me, and I spent the better part of three days (while removing staples) trying to think of some crafty way to use them. I was thinking that maybe some of you grrrrls could give me a hand? So far all I've come up with is a hat, and that's just silly.

I have finally begun my Moleskine project. For more information, go here: http://www.moleskine.co.uk/

I am beginning this project as an effort to get down on paper all of my philosophies, goals, thoughts, dreams, and just general things... The Moleskine has a rich history, an amazing legacy, and an awesome tradition. I plan to have the highest goals of beauty and perfection in doing this book of mine, and will post pictures as often as I am in to scan them.

hey ladies....i have a question for all of you. i have made a few projects where i sew beads on material, but with light wear and tear the knot will come undone and the beads fall off :(

What is the best way to reenforce a knot? Any tips will make this little girl very happy.

Ok this is my first tutorial so I hope I have explained everything all right. I would say this is for a somewhat experienced seamstress.

I promised a post with pics a few days ago, so I'm finally doing it. After taking pics with the web cam, I decided I'm going to get a cheap digital camera as soon as I can afford it. Problem is money is very tight. Sigh.

I have debated about posting these because I feel a little inadequate compared to the rest of you in many respects!  But I was very excited about both of these things, so here you go. :)

Hi there, I have been toying with the idea of buying some sterling silver wire so that I can create some of my own pieces more freely than relying on chain and softflex. My birthday is coming up and my mom really wants me to buy more beading supplies with it because she loves my pieces (aren't family our best critics, afterall?) so I have a few questions for you guys.

I have researched on craftster and other crafting sites as to what kind of wire I should get, and so far the general concensus has been 21 gauge round half-hard, does this sound right? I have some floral wire that is 24 gauge and it seems far too thin, so 21 seems like it would be just right. I want to be able to make ring-forms (will I have to go around a couple of times for it to be a sturdy ring?) and also my own eye-pins (i always finish loops by wire wrapping so i wont be making just closed loops, but i want to make sure it won't bend too easily)

So does this sound about right? I'm more worried about the half-hard working with the gauge I've chosen. Also, for making bracelet forms and my own earring hooks, should I get a larger gauge?

Ok, around march or april, I think, I had a post asking if anyone had any ideas about how to hang posters on the wall without tearing them up. Like with sticky tack or tape or push pins. Well, I just saw the answer on some show I've never seen before on hgtv. MAGNETIC PAINT!!! It's perfect! When I have my own house, I'm definitely going to have magnetic walls in some rooms. And if I have kids, I'm gonna have chalkboard paint on 1 or 2 of the walls. There is so much cooler stuff around now than when I was a kid.

sorry, about the text only post. I'm excited!

I'm new and while I'm generally a crafty/handy I can't remember how to use my nifty knitter looms and the directions seem to be missing!!! I'm just trying to make a simple one color long scarf on the green or yellow looms so if anyone can send directions my way I would greatly appreciate it!!

No offense to anyone, but I found this mildly appropriate for the community and absolutely hilarious:
