Two questions:

Does anybody have any instructions on how to make beaded hearts?

And how difficult is it to make beaded flowers?

Hello!

This is something I've done once or twice with mildly good results, and I was wondering if anyone could offer any tips or anything... (Text only post - sorry!!)

I'm talking about decoupage - but my own strange form of decoupage, in which I take recycled jars (from gravy and such) and glue fancy bits of party napkins and other paper things onto them. We've got some really cool Halloween napkins with skulls and bones, and "trick or treat" on them, and I really wanted to immortalize these neato designs in such a way. Ones that I've done in the past, I've just Elmers glued cut-out bits of the paper napkins to the jar, then added glitter and paint and stuff. Then, I use them for candle holders, which looks neat because the designs are all transparent and stuff. Sometimes I add ribbon to the jar too.

Well, it works well enough, but I was wondering if anyone had some ideas to take it up a notch? Any decorating ideas for this sort of odd recycled craft art? Any suggestions at all are welcome. :)

Now all the markers and pens I schlep around won’t be all willy-nilly at the bottom of my bag.

A pencil case or a pencil box? )

I had this white shirt that I washed with some colored clothes, oops. It turned nasty yellow and had purple stains all over it. So I made it pretty.

A bit ago, I posted about these cute curtains that I made for our bedroom:

I had some fabric leftover, so I decided to make some stripe-y pillowcases to match.

And here they are... )

Well here are the art projects I've finished so far for school.
For 3-D Design our first project was to show movement through rhythm using paper forms.

3D Project 1 Pics )

Our second project consists of exploring fully rounded forms with wire. We were to pick either an insect or a cartoon character. I chose Gir. We were also supposed to use 20% of another material. I chose fabric.

3D Project 2 Pics )

In ceramics, we started working with slab construction.
Our first project was to make a non-functional cup and a base. Here's my useless cup. The inside of the cup is really only a square tube inserted to the bottom that's only a little over an inch and a half wide.

My brother's dog Trixie... she gets super cold b/c she is super small. (1/2 chihuahua, 1/2 mini pinscher) So i have made her another sweater for the winter. It's got two layers of cotton and the inner layer is sweatshirt material. It's Christmas theme. My grandma gave me some of her extra pieces of fabric to fool around with... so I figured I'd experiment with doggy clothing. I found a pattern on Circle of Crafters and changed it a little bit so it would better fit trixie. I think my next one will be just winter related, so she can wear it more of the season... I am sure I can find super cute material at Jo-Ann's :-)

Meet Critter

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Critter 001, to be exact. She's a cute little...critter made of egg shell felt with a tail, googly eyes (love 'em), a felt nose, drawn mouth, and adorns a precious pink bow.

Mom thinks she could be related to Sid, but she doesn't seem very sloth-like. ;)

My husband and I made these robot Halloween costumes out of foam, hot glue, spray paint and a little duct tape. Our feet were air conditioning duct parts from Home Depot. Instructions on this would be impossible, but here is the evidence that it can be done.

:-)

So I decided that for Christmas, I was going to be all clever and personal and make cards for all my friends. This is the first one I've made, and now I'm not so sure about the clever part. I don't know if I like it. Oh well, c'est la vie non? Any suggestions for improvement, etcetera, would always be welcome.

card through here )

ETA - I don't know why the pictures look so dark now, or why the last one is so blurry.

Has anyone seen the book Famous Paintings In Crossstitch yet? For that matter, has anyone tried making any of the paintings yet??? The few samples I've seen look totally awesome and make me want to get back into crossstitching in a big way. Bah, I've got too many projects! lol. But man do I want to make them.... yet another book on my wish list!

I am looking for an eraser that is in the form of a pencil. Does anyone remember seeing something like it? It's for erasing really fine detail like when you are drawing or doing stencils etc. The eraser is like a pencil and really really thin, if the eraser is "dull" you can peel part of the pencil skin off and the eraser is sharper.

It is not one of these

that's too thick

anyone know what I'm talking about? I have no idea where to get this type of eraser...this was like used 20 yrs ago?

I was inspired on Sunday night to make a fabric necklace, like the ones made by [livejournal.com profile] alustrialcrafts. I have a ton of scrap fabric from my Grandma and beads that I've had since I was in elementary school so it cost absolutely nothing to make, which is nice since I'm broke right now. I used red fabric with green and gold glitter beads to make myself a Christmas necklace. It's all put together but now I'm stuck on how to finish the ends so I can put it on. I know that [livejournal.com profile] alustrialcrafts puts ribbon on the ends and ties a bow, but I wanted to use a real necklace clasp if it was possible. I have long hair and I don't want to mess with having to put my hair up so that it won't get tangled in the bow and whatnot.

Here's a picture: )
