Hi Guys, I am Craftgrrl obsessed, and this is the first time I have piped into the conversation.

So, today I bought a Creative Versa-Tool at the evil empire. Best 20$ I have ever spent! I have been on a crafting binge.

Do any of you have Creative Versa-Tools?

For those that don't, this amazing little gadget does so much, such as:

-Burn wood
-Solder metal
-Transfer images onto like any surface
-Cuts stencils.

So, here's the first thing I made with it. Just a little patch for my super-hoodie.

I transfered a photocopy of a barcode from National Geographic on to canvas, then I stenciled a little bit with acyrlic/fabric medium and then splatter painted with red acrylic/medium.

Any comments?

always with the questions!

i'm looking for somewhere that i can buy pieces of broken stained glass in bulk.

recently at an art gathering someone brought along two huge bins of these fantastic glass shards of different shapes and sizes and colours to share & work with. i asked her where she got them from, and she said that she bought them off a woman that teaches glass art classes...

but now i'm wondering if it is actually possible to purchase the pieces in bulk, since i would think the glass teacher had to get it from somewhere.

thanks so much for any help!

Here's my trial run of a sachet idea I wanted to use for an upcoming bridal shower. Just a trial run, so yes it's in hot pink and red thread, because that was what I had in my scrap basket, also I couldn't find my beading wire, so the hanger is made of twist ties!

I made these for my daughter and husband for Valentines Day. It is amazing what you can do with card stock, stamps, glitter, fun fur, ribbon, a red pencil, and punch outs. Oh... and a little glue to hold it all together. I am pretty happy with the result.

I'm making a duct tape wallet as a valentine for a guy friend of mine. I'd love to fill it with goofy things but I'm at a loss for ideas. I know there is another community for this but it's pretty inactive. He's a pretty sarcastic/black humor kinda guy.
Any suggestions?

So far I have a wallet size photo of chuck norris with facts on the back

and that's it....

For Valentine's, since my boyfriend feels it is purely a female holiday (it's true- I love it) and boys don't get presents, I made my sig. o. a.... card! (I'm sure you didn't see that coming at all.) He's not of the emo persuation so I had to metal-fy it a little, but in the end I did whatever the hell I wanted.

i've been meaning to make a post on here for a while now so here goes :)

i mentioned my idea for my boyfriend's valentines card about a week or so ago in somebody else's post. he's a big fan of superman so i found a picture of superman and photoshopped his head (badly) on top. here is a picture:

I graduated college in December. I am already working and have no plans to attend the May graduation ceremony (for a multitude of reasons). I do, however, want to send out graduation announcements. Any ideas on how to make my own? I can't bear to pay $60 for 25 of them from the school!
[identity profile] lookizanna.livejournal.com

No school today, I got around to do things.

With this...you get this. (And some bracelets and one of the greatest inventions.) )

Kinda picture heavy. BEWAREEEE.

THATS ALLLLL.

from this weeks trib -

"Beth Guislin already has a large afghan made from canine cashmere and cherishes the keepsake from her dog, Leo, a golden retriever mix who died in July.

After saving their dogs' fur for years during grooming, both Gardner, who lives in Los Gatos, Calif., and Guislin of Palo Alto, Calif., found their way to VIP Fibers in Morgan Hill.

The 5-year-old company offers a distinctly different . . . uh, spin on a niche market: For a fee, Victoria Pettigrew will spin the fur from your dog or cat into yarn that can be used to knit or crochet into almost anything."

"But she is making a living spinning the fur and hair from pet dogs, cats, rabbits, goats--even a pet buffalo--into yarn. Costs range from $6 to spin enough raw fiber--less than an ounce--to make a "pettable picture frame," to several hundred dollars for enough yarn to make a blanket."

"Pettigrew isn't the first to spin pet fur into yarn, but her extensive Web site--vipfibers.com--has attracted customers from throughout the country."

good gravy. Im amazed, amused, and delighted. x-posted a bit as well.

HI! Can someone direct me the way of a picture of a hand-made (crochet?) MARVIN THE ROBOT a la Hitchhiker's Guide? I've seen some knit ones online but i thought someone made one a little more amigurumi...

I recall seeing one around the time the movie came out....

THANKS!

This is my first post here -- I am more of a wannabe than an actual craftgrrl, but for once I got my act together and made something that I feel like sharing. Saturday morning my friend and I made our own valentines, using only supplies that she had on hand: children's stencils, Elmer's glue, and construction paper.

Here are some of the more amusing results of my early-morning creativity. The first one I sent to my little sister, the second to my best friend's boyfriend, and the third I made in several different color combinations and sent to half of my friends.

so i work at Value Village aka Savers which is a large thrift store chain in the USA, Canada and Australia. anyway this monday is our big 50% off sale (in canada anyway...) and we have to dress up 1950's style. my friend at work found this skirt for herself but it was just plain pink so i said i would sew a poodle on it for her. i ended up deciding to embroider it instead and im really happy with the results! it only took about 3 hours and i think it looks fab.

yay! valentine's day card.

my boyfriend and i don't really celebrate valentine's day. we just kinda shrug our shoulders when people asks us what we are going to do for valentine's.

BUT! i thought up this card that I just HAD to make. and it fitted the whole valentine's day thingy. i hope he likes it. it's very un-valentiny.

yummy, yummy... )

GAH! I just typed this whole long entry and now I have to do it again. Grr.
So, this one will be shorter and less peppy. :)
What follows is a V-Day present for the boy, so I had to take pictures in the bedroom where the lighting is horrible. Sorry. Perhaps I will get some good action shots tomorrow. :)
