Flower Pens
Feb. 12th, 2006 09:27 amFor Christmas, I wanted to do something nice for the ladies that work at my office with me, so I got them idea from my son's daycare. I got all of the material from the dollar store (except for the floral tape) and they didn't take long to make at all :)
( Flower Pens )
And the nice thing is that you can use any type of flower you like :)

Simple, yet functional.
Feb. 12th, 2006 10:22 amSince the boyfriend has brought all of his A/V equipment to the apartment, we have approximately a million remotes that are often lost or at least not handy. I solved the problem (I hope!) with ( this: )
I have one question for you ladies, though. There is a long piece of black still that I am planning to use to attach it to something. In the picture, it is just draped over the back of the futon. I have considered velcro and snaps, though I'm not sure how to place them appropriately so that it could be used with either the chair I have or the futon (both have open arms, though not the same dimensions). Though I really like it just hanging there in the middle of the futon. :) Anyhow, if anyone has any ideas, I'm open! Thanks!!

Feb. 12th, 2006 02:46 pmwhere do YOU order your armour etch from? I'm looking for cheap and I'm looking for fast shipping.
I was going to get it at one of the art supply stores near here, but they have all stopped carrying it because of vandalism. I can't get to a michaels or anything either.
so. suggestions?

Marble Magnets
Feb. 12th, 2006 06:00 pmHas anyone found a reliable source online to buy the marbles in bulk? I want to do an entire wall (ambitious, I know) of them in my apartment, so if anyone knows where I can get bulk of them, I would really appreciate it!
PS- I'm in the U.S
TIA!

Feb. 12th, 2006 08:06 pmI finally got around to taking pictures of something I've made recently. Then I got them onto my computer, then I got them online. Impressive.
This is a jewelry set which I made for my University Ball, which took place last evening. I haven't made jewelry before, so this was my first shot at it. I normally make my clothes, but I ended up wearing a store bought dress... and I couldn't have store bought everything.

Feb. 12th, 2006 08:06 pmThis is my first post here! Here are two different brocade bags I made this weekend; both are from tutorials posted/or linked to here. Thanks for the inspiration! ( Pictures under the cut.... )
stupid question maybe
Feb. 12th, 2006 09:12 pm.. i just found 10 meters [32 feet] of unbleached cotton online for 18.88 at jysk.ca! it is 120cm wide or 47.24 inches wide.
Our venue for our wedding has marvelous round tables but alas it is going to cost us minimum....11.50$ PER tablecloth to rent tables cloth! we have about 20+ tables, at 44" and 50" in diameter per tables.
Since the tables cloths we would rent would be 90" by 90" round, i figure, why not buy this and sew two together, and since we are having charger plates or a round runner on each tables, it would hid the middle seam.
my question?...what the heck is unbleached cotton like??? is it suitable for a tablecloth, and do you think it is really feasable to make our own out of it????
i only ask here, because you all are so so crafty!

Feb. 12th, 2006 09:47 pmso, a looong while ago i posted all these sequined applique shapes that my grandmother got me in mexico,
and today i sat down [cause there are mounds of snow outside, and i'm not going anywhere] and made me a shirt!

I'm not all that into Valentines Day, but I was stuck inside by the snowstorm and decided to whip out the powdered sugar and play with icing:)I think they turned out pretty sweet, unfortunately they taste like utter crap;)

Shiny Leather Laptop Sleeve of my Dreams
Feb. 12th, 2006 11:00 pmYeah, so I can't find any laptop things that I like.. so I decided to make it out of metalic , pink, coper and pewter leather that I had around... and designed it to suit for my very own special laptop. Hooray! Its made just like an envelope.. and has elastic bands to hold the flap closed. I wish I had lined it as the leather holds the laptop in the sleeve *too* well... so I used some of the iron on vinyl on the inside to make it slippery.

Bigger pics and an inside shot here.
