Sorry for the text-only post, but a question just hit me and what better place to ask?

How do you all think contact paper would hold up in a small bathroom? Is it as fruitless an endeavor as I think it might be? I'm thinking of doing something on the walls with it.

This is the hat that I have now figured out the pattern for. I can't promise it's 100% perfect. it's pretty close tho, so if you try it out and have probs, feel free to ask. or if you notice where a problem is, let me know. This is my first attempt at a pattern, so don't be too harsh on me, please.

Here you go:

hook size: G or H (slightly smaller hat in G)
yarn: worsted weight, 100% wool, from knitpicks.com. feel free to use any brand, or any fiber of worsted weight.

Foundation:
ch 8, sl st to connect

Round 1:
ch 3, dc 22, sl st into 2nd st of ch 3

Round 2:
ch 3, crocheting in the spaces dc 1, ch 1, in the next sp dc 1, in next sp dc 1, ch 1, *dc 1, ch 1, dc 1, ch 1, dc 2, ch 1, *repeat until last open space. dc 1 and sl st into 2nd st of ch 3

Round 3:
ch 3, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc 2, *ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc 2, *repeat until 2 spaces are left. ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc next to starting post, sl st into 2nd st of ch 3.

Round 4:
ch 3, *dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc 2, ch 1, *repeat until 3 spaces are left. ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, sl st into 2nd st of ch 3.

Round 5:
ch 3, *dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc 2, ch 1, *repeat until 3 spaces left. dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, sl st into 2nd st of ch 3.

Round 6:
ch 3, *dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc 2, ch 1, *repeat until 3 spaces left. dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, sl st into 2nd st of ch 3.

Round 7-22 (or less if you want a shorter hat):
ch 3, *dc, ch 1, * repeat until all spaces are filled, sl st into 2nd st of ch 3.

Round 23:
ch 3, in first space (dc, ch 2, dc 2), in next space sc, in next space sc, *in next space (dc 2, ch 2, dc 2), in next space sc, in next space sc, *repeat until start of round. sl st into 2nd st of ch 3. weave in all ends.

Fin.

While waiting to get up the nerve to finish my shrug, I decided to make something with some fuschia yarn I got on sale the other day. I just started knitting with no goal in mind and this is what it ended up being - a bag for a friend of mine :D

A frosted blue purple and silver bracelet with a daisy:

And a bracelet that I don't particularly like made for saint patricks day:

You may or may not be able to tell that there are little shamrocks on the green beads in the middle.

After having a basic 10 dollar cheapy or free with plan Nokia whatever phone for the longest time, I finally got an upgrade. Since I had almost the same blah phone since getting a cell phone (which was in year 2000 people, 2000, when I was 26 years old!...can you imagine how late I am when it comes to technology??), I decided that I needed something hot. So (only because of a good deal)we purchased me a new shiny lovely pink lady.

To those who sell their jewelry:

What sort of techniques do you use for taking pictures of your items indoors? I usually take pictures of my stuff outside, but it's so damn cold. What I'd really like to know is how you get those nice, clear shots against a plain, pure-white background.

Tips? :)

Hello

I have a question for those of you with websites. I use Tripod as a host and I just use their site builder, rather than a ton of html (which I should be using). My question is, if any of you use this too or use something similar, what do you do with your uploaded pictures?

My problem is that when I upload pictures to put on, it just makes a big list and there's no categories/alphabetizing. Any tips? Would you just use add-on html and upload them somewhere else?

(I apologize if this isn't totally craft related, but this is the only community I trust to ask questions to)

*EDIT: Thank you all sooo much for your help. I really appreciate it very much.

how would bits of wonder under work in place of needles for making
hems stay? It takes about 20 pins per blankie to make the hem stay,
and I don't have very many pins to start with anyway. Would it make
the edging stiff? What are other alternatives to pinning with needles
to keep your hem in place. I'd still need to sew it and I think wonder under might make it a little stuff or hard to sew.

we went to taco bell and I had a stuffed grilled burrito and a drink and that was enough rice and beans are very filling and add soda to owell you got yourself a meal:D

I left my purse home today on purpose lol cause we went to a fabric place and there was about 20 bucks worth of fabric I could of had lol. And I went to hancocks and they had some gorgious print that they was gonna be out of only had a yard left so I begged money off mom:D

Does anyone know how to go about hollowing out a book? Basically, I just want to cut out the middle of the pages, so that there is a cavity there when you open it. I looked at the memories, but they all seem to be about how to glue the pages together, and I'm more interested in how to actually get the middle hollow. I tried using an x-acto knife to cut the pages, but it shreds them and makes a mess. (Not to mention that it takes forever!)

Any ideas?

I've been making so many things for swaps that I decided it was time to make myself something.

How great is this fabric.

So I spent pretty much the entire day working on this one single piece! It started as a craft challenge to myself to try to finish a complicated, and intricate piece in one single day!

I am really happy with the results, and I cant express how much I love her! She is so much better in person, photos just dont do her justice!
