I wonder what it'd look like to glue yarn around the waists of those adorable yogurt drink container bottles. I've been looking for a way to reuse or redecorate them.

so, i got all crafty last night, and decided to make a skirt out of a pair of jeans that my roommate got handed down and some other jeans i had laying around. i was so excited because i would finally be able to post some of my work on here for you all to see (since my roommate also has a digital camera).

but...

i got most of the way done when my sewing machine made a scary grumbling noise and stopped purring all smooth like she usually does. the needle broke. i found a replacement one and put it in this afternoon. i tried to sew with it again and it still made the noise. if i go real slow it works fine, but then it starts to make this noise, like something is catching or breaking. it makes my cringe. i called my mom, because what else is a girl to do, and she didn't know what it might be.

if anyone has any clues as to what this might be please let me know. i am devestated. it was 5 am when i had to stop (i was going to wear it today). and if anyone knows of a good sewing machine repair place in chicago, that might be helpful. oh, and i have a brother vx-1120.

please help!

THIS!

I always wanted a huge beautiful wedding gown that had a sort of fantasy flair... in the end I ended up in a big black corseted affair and I loved/love it. But... i still have a hankering for that dress.

This might fall under sewing.. but this is mostly made from remnants and found materials. Most of the trim is hand sewn, and the hat actually has buckrum in it to hold a more hat-like shape.

The doll shown is about 2 ft tall and is made in korea. You can find out more here: http://www.dollfair.com She is a 60cm narae named Jem. Normally she has a poofy pink wig tho. XD

It is a little DS bag for my friend. Made from scratch without a pattern, that's why it is off a bit LOL!

I finally got my bf's digital camera so I could take pictures of the stuff I made, since my camera sucks. :)

Details:
6ft long with fringe
6 inches wide
all ssc (some sort of single crochet where you insert, yo, draw through, then yo and draw through the two loops. I thought that WAS single crochet, but then I've been reading otherwise in various places.)

Red Heart Light & Lofty in Wine
(darker red with maroon/burgundy intertwined)

Warm & toasty scarf, and a bracelet set )

Ok, so here are some of the things I've made recently. The first is a pratice bag. I was just trying out the pattern, I intended it to be a purse but turned into a hip bag (got the shape from dior). The other 3 I followed the Jordy tutorial. The "antique purse" isn't I just thought the print inside reminded me of antiques. I'm still trying to find some way of closing the map and antique purse anyone have any ideas? http://www.flickr.com/photos/35875582@N00/

Does anyone have any favorite felted patterns? I've been searching around, but all I can seem to find are bags (mostly variations of each other), slippers, and oven-mitt looking mittens, and they have been vastly uninspiring:P

Hey everyone, was wondering if you could help me with something :) My friend and I are going as dragonkin to a Renaissance festival and we need wings. I saw some wingg that were sewn recently at Megacon, but I didn't buy them and the lady gave me the wrong business card, so now I need to make them. They looked something like THE ONES ON HER HEAD only smaller to go on my back. If anyone has any pattern ideas for these or know anyone who sells them so I can go look and try to make a pattern off of what I see, it'd be really appreciated...thank you! :)

Ok. So I have the badge a minit 1 1/4 inch hand press, and well, I cannot get it to work. I do not not not have the instructions...and I am guessing that is why I can't do it. I've looked online, and can't find instructions, so if anybody has this machine and can explain how it works OR if you know where an instuction booklet is online, I'll send you a button or two as a thank you :)

edited:i got the answer i needed :) thanks guys!

hey, just a quick question.. i want to make a picture frame that's sparkly. i bought a plain wooden one and spray painted it white and i was thinking of putting glue on it and just dumping glitter on it, but i'm afraid that most of it will fall off. is there something i can spray it with to seal the glitter? i used polyurethane for a different project and was really unsatisfied it since it turned my project yellow, and besides that wasn't a spray and i think a spray would be easier. so any ideas? thanks =]
