Finally! I have a real problem finishing projects, but tonight I get to post something.
This is a book safe for a friend I will be staying with in Massachusetts next week.
If that's you, don't click here )

Another project: incense box )

I've still got a lot of detail work to do on this, but for now I think I'm going to take another break from it and let her get some use out of it!

I wanted to post this with the earrings, but I couldn't find it to scan at the time. I just caught my kitty with it though (she's like a magpie I swear).

I made this out of glass beads and memory wire. Its sized for a kid (my neighbor actually) and the beads are kind of crappy. I had gotten one of those little tubs of glass beads 'cause it seemed like such a great deal. Most of them weren't even usable, but I got some halfway decent ones on this. I want to make a similar one wth better beads for me. I really like the colors on this.

ok, so i wanna stencil a t-shirt and everything would be great and no problem but: can i use "art potch" for textile [ used for that technique where you attach napkins to surfaces --> serviettentechnik] to mix it with acrylic paint just like all american tutorials use textile medium?
[ it says "textile medium" on the bottle, but next to it "glue" and you are supposed to drain the base in it before you stick the napkin onto the fabric, so i don' t wanna dish out money for nothing]

thanks a lot and sorry for no pics!

[ btw: i' ve worked out a pattern for those "minnetonka"-boots, now i'll try it on denim or some sturdy material first and then we'll see...thanks for all your help regarding that issue!:)]

A year-ish ago or so, someone posted a beautiful necklace made from buttons and later posted a tutorial on it. I think that the crafter used squid line...? Does this sound familiar? I looked through memories and tried to search, but haven't found anything. (Though, admittedly, my searching skills may be sub-par.) Can anyone point me to it? My mom and I saw some similar necklaces in a store for $190, and we'd like to try to make one instead of shelling out the cash. (Though it would be well worth it! These necklaces are so pretty!) Thanks!!

Hi. This is my first time posting here - I just joined! I'm 20, from Malaysia, and I LOVE crafting, especially cut-and-paste (collage), anything to do with paper crafts, and just recently (last December), felting. I've been making some felt key chain charms for the past weeks, and am still planning to make more.

I bought some bamboo blinds for really cheap (YAY), but they're a plain blonde color, not the pretty greenish tinted ones with dark brown splotches/mottling that I really like (BOO). I figure adding dark splotches here and there is pretty easily accomplished with a paintbrush, but how best can I add subtle varying greenish tints? Spray paint is too concentrated/unsubtle and I don't have access to airbrushes. I was thinking of diluting some paint and using a spray bottle of the kind you use to mist plants or wet your hair down, but what kind of paint would be best to use, and would I dilute it with water or something else?

Pictures of the blinds I hope to beautify )

I'm trying to create a color look sort of like the 'bamboo rustic' or the 'bamboo tortoise' ones on this page.

Hey folks. New shirt. I like it. ALOT. and I've gotten positive feedback from the doods in the house, which must mean it's cool.
(one of them is completely not interested in wimmen whatsoever, so when he was super excited about my shirt, it gave me a rating on how cool it is, lol.)

Quick little note to South Jersey/Philly crafters. :)
I was on South Street and discovered an awesome little bead shop. It's on 2nd street, just off of South Street in Philly...called Beadworks. They have some amazingly beautiful hand blown beads and almost anything else you can think of.

Enjoy your weekend!
