Not exactly a work of art, but I love it.

1. I have a white leather purse I bought that started life with a "distressed" finish - but after backpacking around Europe, my poor purse is a bit more distressed than I would like. can I use white shoe polish to make it look nice again?

2. I also have a pair of silver ballet flats that are looking a bit worse for wear after my travels. is it possible for me to spray paint them silver? will it come off?

thanks for any help!

Alright. I use foam brushes to stencil, but it seems like I am only able to use them once or twice before throwing them out. What do you guys use?

Thanks! Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

In order to make myself some camo shorts for the summer, I just hacked off the legs of some old pants. And now I have a good portion of the lower legs to play with. (these were military grade camos).

Any ideas as to what I should do with them? I was thinking arm warmers (if I can find a pattern), but I figured I would let you all have a go at ideas before I set about my afternoon project. ^_^

I made a skirt yesterday because i needed it in the evening for a concert - so i rather rushed it. It looks acceptable (aka there isn't a great big sign on my butt saying "lookie here, home made skirt") but im not 100% happy with it.

My seems are fine, but my hem and waist band are a little messy. The fabric is light/shiny/strechy- polyester with a little lycra maybe.

Any tips for nicer hems for this type of material?

(i seem to remember reading somewhere to sew through paper - but i cant find the source and i dont want to blunt a needle over a vague memory)

Just recently joined the community, so I thought by way of introduction I should post a few crafty things I've done recently. ^^

Hi! I've been lurking for a while now, admiring everyone's lovely stuff and delving into the memories repeatedly... I thought it was finally time to post something!

I've recently learned to knit. I haven't done anything complex yet at all, but I'm going to be getting there soon. I made a cell phone cozy for myself yesterday (I made one a couple of weeks ago, but it was awful). And I've also got a stenciled bag!

Cell Cozy, Yarn Bag, and a little extra )

I also had a question. I've been wanting to try a hat with my Lion Brand Homespun. I don't have double-pointed needles, though, so I'd like to try something that's flat with a seam to sew up.... I've also never done a hat before. I've done a bunch of browsing but I haven't found anything quite right... If you know of any good online hat patterns (preferably something done on larger needles, like 13 or 15 (US size)), I'd love to be directed there!

so i need some help... i'm in the middle of making my first ag and it's not going well... i didn't use a pattern, but i used some tutorials on craftster as a loose basis. I'm making a circle purse. i did not take into account that the handle part wouldn't be strong enough by itself, just being the four layers of fabric... I was thinking about wrapping it in grosgrain ribbon, but it's not wrapping evenly (of course, since the purse is circular). any ideas on how to salvage this?

thanks~

My friend Emily gave me permisson to use some of her Math Notebook Drawings on shirts. I started out with an uggo grey man-tee and cut it down into a halter. Then freehanded the dude and lyrics.
