If I wanted to create my own roll up midevil type scrolls, how easy would it be? I had thought you could take some dow rods decorate in way you wish then secure the paper, then roll it up. Am I very far off my theroy?

Something like this!

I am awaiting permission to do this, but how touching would it be to turn part of this song that was made for heavenly angels in need's
website, into a memory scroll or plack for the memory boxes for hains memory boxes?

or the chorus line how neat would it be to find someway to have the words printed in rub on lettering on scroll paper? Or it might be fun to
take some nice muslin and sew pockets to slip the scroll dows through.

I was thinking more specifically the chorus line of

"One tiny baby didn't stay here long
He was in a hurry to go
He got dressed up in a tiny little gown
And he is with the angels I know
Yes he is with the angels I know
"

would anyone here know whether it would be possible to melt standard 35mm camera film into a mould? i'm hoping to make a shape/mould of a gun out of some old film for a project, and i wanted to ask if anyone here knows whether film is likely to be pliable like that before i accidentally poison myself with fumes of the melting film.... would it be anything like making record bowls, you reckon?

and meanswhile for your amusement, while you ponder over the question, here are some random pictures of some useless things i've knitted )

CGM, my skirt
Originally uploaded by ohbara.
I can tell I'm done with school because I'm sewing all the time! Got the fabric yesterday, and worked all night and this morning to finish this commission. The skirt has a contrasting waistband with a paste-jewel button in the back, hidden zip, form-fitting upper lining, and two layers of ruched tulle underskirts (which are held in place by tiny bows and more paste-jewel buttons). I'm really pleased with the way it came out. There's one more photo at my flickr: http://flickr.com/photos/ohbara/147694432/ , but this one (in the outdoor light) shows the color best.

yay me! I called the SPCA back and left a message about how I called and called last time to finish my mentor ship so I could become a voulenteer, well lo and behold someone called me back. she said for a long time they did not have a voulenteer co' ordinator so she was very sorry my voulenteer efforts went un returned, and un finished. and I have a meeting with her next saterday at 2.

And then The Sacramento Children's hospital Shriners is sending me a voulenteer application. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd then friday I meet with the Childrens recieving home, for finger prrinting and my application as a voulenteer there. The only hick up that made me stop and pausse was the cost of it. It's 47.57. However that could of been way way worse it was like almost 100 dollars, but they share the cost. they'll be billed 95 dollars.

I said that I'd like to work with crafts and so I'll probably be put in the recreational time position. Other wise you can w*ork in the dormatories.

now this is where it's craft related so fits into craft girrls. I'll hopefully be helping the children make crafts do activities.

I am very excited, that my voulenteer interests are finally going to get a chance to see where my interests go.

New Handcast Paper bowl of the summer greenman, The bowl is made from handcast paper then painted in shades of green, yellow, red, blue, brown, copper and gold with a print taken from an orginal painting of my summer greenman placed on the bottom of the bowl.

I love the way the painted leaves came out. Also there are gold accents on the face itsself. The bottom of the bowl is really cool (doesnt'show to well in the photo ) but it has some really cool red and blue colors in it.

Bowl measures approx 9 inches across and 2 inches tall.

Hey grrls!

I've been lurking around for a while and finally am ready to put up some of my stuff. The following are six necklaces I've made in the last couple of days. Pardon the picture quality- I'm still trying to figure out the best way to photograph beads so they look good.

I'd appreciate any feedback on this stuff. :)

Hey there. I am 24 weeks pregnant with my son. I have decided to do a bunch of little crafts and whatnot for him. I think it would be nice later on down the road for us to sit down and I can show him what Mommy made for him.

So far I have a bunch of wooden animals that I am painting to hang on the walls near his crib. I also have his wooden letters for his name.

What other crafts could I do? I also have a pregnancy journal that I made. Thanks all!

I've been trying to hem the top part of this dress, and it keeps doing that bunchy-rolly effect.
I pressed. I pinned. I don't know where to go from here to fix this problem. Anyone else have this problem before?

Could it be the fabric? Should I make some adjustments to the machine?

I'm looking for a supplier of something like this in Canada. FMG charges a lot to ship to Canada, unfortunately :/ And I can't find them locally. I would need a few diff sizes, for bracelets, necklaces, earrings... etc. I think my stuff would look nicer if displayed in boxes. They don't have to be any specific colour, but I do need them to be reasonably inexpensive as I will need to buy a bunch. Thanks in advance.

i've shared some of my other artwork but here's a bit of a different style - an abstract painting

"Bullseye" - acrylics on 12"x36" stretched canvas

Has anyone ever made sugar cookies with animal faces on them. Specifically pigs? I could really use a picture of them.

My boyfriend is graduating the police academy on Thursday, and I'm helping his mom with the food for his 'after party'. I thought sugar cookies with pig faces would be funny. Haha.

thanks to [livejournal.com profile] stolenmilkcrates fabulous tutorial (found here: http://www.deviantart.com/view/33210396/ ), I decided to try it out and make miniature "chibified" versions of my two dwarf hamsters.

I have a 6.5 pound mini-dachshund named Frances. Frances is a pain in the ass sometimes. Most times. She wants to be underfoot constantly, and if you are sitting and are not holding her, she wants to know what the problem is.

Well I was trying to get some work done on the laptop, and I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be nice if I had more hands so I could hold the dog and get something done??"

I should be ashamed but I'm not. )

I am a sick and crafty bitch. This is the prototype, so not very pretty, but with some lovely upholstery remnants, we will be stylin'.

I found some cool glasses at a thrift shop that I'd really like to etch/frost, but the problem is, these glasses already have colored designs on them! I can't tell how the designs are on there, but I can't scrape them off with a razor blade. I don't know if I'll need to use a chemical solvent and if so, what would be appropriate. I've googled and googled and memory searched, but with no luck!

The designs are the same medium as the Clue logo on this glass:
My glasses do NOT have the Clue logo on them. Just ugly blue and tan flowers. The Clue glasses are just to show the type of material the design is made out of as I do not know what it's called.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It's okay if the glasses get a bit scuffed up, as I plan to etch them anyway.

Thanks!
