has anybody knitted with sari silk yarn? do you have any pictures of the finished product? I'm considering buying some sari silk yarn but I'm not too convinced it'd look very nice all knitted up.

With all the chibis being posted lately, I've been inspired to go back to working with polymer clay. I've been focusing on other kinds of projects lately, like those felt baby books and some paintings. It's nice to get back to where I started. Polymer clay was my first real crafting hobby. :)

** PICTURE HEAVY **

Six amigurumi birds, made with my own pattern, and strung up with ribbon. These little birdies are currently flying on their way in hopes of being published in an upcoming craft book.

put it under lj cut cause some goon will probably comment and tell me to cause it could be "offensive".
it's just a flower.

Question

'cuz I'm drawing a blank...

I'm making another felt baby book. This time it's for a girl named "HAILEY" who will be born sometime in the next couple weeks. For past books, I've used A=alligator/apple/airplane, E=elehapnt, I=igloo

I'm looking for some new suggestions for all the letters. I think I'll do I=ice cream this time and L=ladybug. But I'm stuck on Y. I can only think of yo-yo!!

Does anyone have a pattern for a five-pointed star less than 16 beads across? I'm beginning to think it's not possible to make a pretty one. The background can be totally plain.

Thanks!

I think I'm on a Zombie kick.

EDIT
Thanks for all the comments. I'll just answer all the questions here.

The bag is made from vinyl, nylon webbing, snaps, 2 D rings, lining fabric and a zipper.

I've been working with vinyl for a while, I love it. I try and keep my stitch length set at 3, any longer and the bag could fall apart and shorter and you just preforate the vinyl and it could tear.

The bag is 12 X 10 X 2 inches, it's the smallest messenger bag I make, any smaller and I can't get all my stuff in it.

For the red areas I bought clear vinyl and colored it with a red sharpie, then stitched it on with clear thread.

I am working on the tutorial, it's really simple, it's the die cutting part that I'm having problems with but it will be up very soon. In the mean time I'd be happy to answer any questions about working with the vinyl or how to make you own patterns. I use tracing paper to work my patterns out wth because I can fold it and see through it. After I perfect the pattern I put it on poster board so it's easier to use.

Again thanks for all the comments, you all rock!

Does anyone have that ancient getcrafty link to the coffee table made out of a suitcase? I saw that someone had posted the original link in the FAQ, but I can't find the actual site to save my life. I'm looking for other ideas for small coffee tables or other relatively inexpensive crafts for my friend's new -- and bare and furinture-less -- apartment. Thanks! :)

So, a while back I posted some pics of two sock monsters I made. Well I finally got around to uploading the rest of the pictures for you guys to see. I personally like the close ups of their faces.

Okay, I REALLY hope this is okay for me to do. But if it's not, feel free to delete it :)
I've created a new community for Australian crafters. I've gotten a lot of inspiration from this community for being so successful but I just wanted a community that was a little closer to home :)
[livejournal.com profile] aus_craft is the community. Please join it if you live in Australia! :)

Thanks and have a great day!

Here are pictures of my first experience doing a faux finish. I purchased the patio table and chairs at Lowe's today but I really hate the original pattern on the table. So it's revamped!

I did this painting as a b-day gift for a co-worker. It feels unfinished though and I'm wondering if I should add some text. I thought about modpodging some words cutout from magazines but then wondered if that'd mess with the acrylic paint. I also thought maybe I could just write some "inspirational" words with a paint pen, but I'm not sure if that'd look goofy.

what do you think? should I add words or poetry? leave it alone?

your help is greatly appreciated!!! :)

Hi! I saw these hair bows in eBay and I wanted to know how the seller made these.

I've already tried making these but I can't seem to 'bunch' the middle part correctly enough to make it look nice.
If you have any ideas on how to make these look nice, it'd be much appreciated.

My sister had a wedding and she made some of the wedding favors. She had two parts for ther wedding: a brunch, a dinner. For the brunch she made everyone photo holders using mini terra cotta pots, artificial flowers, and a normal office clip. She arranged the pots on the table and clipped the person's name onto the clip so that they knew where the were sitting.
