these are so cute! i never thought to make them into little robots!
i'm posting this because i've been wanting to make some stuff like this, and someone posted just yesterday with some amazing resistor jewelry, so it was fresh in my mind.

i just thought they were nicely made and good inspiration!

Here is a large-scale silver pendant i designed and made in a community college course i have been doing. basically in the classes we create wax designs that are cast professionally and then we finish and polish them.

a bird in the hand

worn

it's all hollowed in the back to reduce weight, but sits nicely on the chest.. you can feel it when you breathe.

Hi, I'm actually starting a magazine (it will be a bit slicker than a zine, but still smalltime and isn't likely to generate any profit)
the aim of the magazine is to teach old fashioned skills like our grandmothers and grandfathers learnt that aren't generally taught anymore. to encourage good ettiquette and manners and to remind people how to be ladylike or a gentleman.

i'm looking for keen writers who would be interested in reporting on the skills of knitting, sewing or crochet.
people who could write up simple tutorials or would like to submit simple, original patterns for our readers.

i can't offer any monetary compensation at this stage but obviously any profit would be shared with our contributors and you will be creditted as the author of your article.

The magazine will be distributed in Sydney Australia and a copy will be forwarded to anyone who contributes.

please only respond if you are SERIOUSLY interested.. and if you are.. please send me an email to sophie.is.my.full.name@gmail.com

I tried my hand at making some jewelry. Sorry for the crappy pictures. I had to use my scanner due to the fact that my digital camera is broken! ::tear::

I posted a few weeks ago about www.lusciouslabels.com. Okay, I paid $185 for 500 labels (using 4 thread colors and white demask fabric). I paid half down, and half when they were ready to be shipped. It took about two weeks for them to finish the labels (and during that time she showed me a sample and we tweeked it a bit). I just received them in the mail today! They are so great! She shipped them out on the 3rd and they got here today. I've ordered labels from another company (they weren't custom, just had the name printed) and it took 6 weeks to get to me. So I'm really happy about this!

Story: Ive been horribly depressed and just bleh for months. Havent done any commission or any crafts really, except designing my wedding invites.

Decided to create another handmade set of coasters. Decided to do a sushi set.

The only downside: in the months I took off, Ive completely forgotten aka LOST THE ABILITY to do a blanket stitch. I feel like someone has shut off that part of my brain. :S

Ive checked my saved stitch sites etc, and i.just.cant.do.it.
Fun part: I had ot basically make up my own blanket stitch
Result: AWesome looking sushi; crappy looking blanket stitching.

I should just call it Bleh stitching. haha. seriously. I tried for a week and ended up screaming in frustration. Handstitching has been my forte, but I dont know, it seriously feel like Ive had a seizure and Ive lost that part of my memory.

Anyways,

the photos are large and bright so BEWARE if youre still 10 years behind on dial-up )

So! I work for Walgreens, & we have to put together a display for Hawaiian Tropic. & I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas. I'm not sure if anyone works in a drug store & has an idea of what I'm talking about. But I know there are some very innovative and amazing ideas that fly through this community, & any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thank you! :)

abby
abby is not an unhappy girl, not really. she is just very discontent. you see, what abby really wants to do is ride horses bareback in the circus. she wants pretty skirts in tulle and chalk powder on her feet. she wants the tents and the smell of cotton candy in her hair. and while this is what abby really wants to do, what she actually does is help on her father's cherry farm. day in and day out, biting her lips permanently stained from the juice, she waits and watches - just hoping for the bright coloured trailers to appear in the dust on the horizon.

(ingrediants: sculpey, paint, ribbon, hair, wire, angst)

hey all. i'm starting a new seller-friendly crafting community and could really use some members. everything from knitting to painting, decoupage to metalworking, stenciling to ceramics. i'm calling it Craftly Li'l Bitch, since that's what my brother has so endearingly decided to name me... seemed appropriate. so please check it out, and join if you like!

*hugs*

PS i checked the rules and couldn't find anything against promoting, but i will remove this post if i'm in violation of policy!

Out of a pair of courdoroy pants that didnt fit, I made this messenger style bag.
The lining was made of a bunch of scrap fabric I had that I cut into little squares and sewed together. Most of this was sewn with a sewing machine. I added a little cell phone pocket because I like pockets, even though it probably wasnt necessary, considering the pants have five pockets already.
Lots of pics in here )
Out of a shirt I got at Kohl's that cut off my circulation...
I fashioned this wallet )
Finally I made a little makeup pouch and draw string change purse )

Oh and heres a tampon dispenser I made and put in my bathroom... It's out of a cereal box!
what a bloody mess )

I may be an idiot for not knowing, but when a pattern says end on a WS row which part is supposed to be the wrong side, do they mean the row last knitted, or the row next knitted?

and to make this not text only... )

My mother's friend works in a factory that makes all of those earrings you see in major chains. After the cleanup, there are random bits and pieces of earrings and necklaces that get stored into boxes to be disposed of. Mine!

Be warned that I'm a horrible photographer )

I also have a question. I want to start selling some of the things I make. What's a fair price for something like that?
