Does anyone know where I can get silver-colored and/or sterling silver bezel charms with solid backs and hanging hardware already attached? Something with a simple design and a well between 1/8" and 3/16"s or thereabouts.

I want to make charms with my images, so I'm looking for pendant pieces.

My daughter is getting married in August and the shoes that she's wearing with her gown need to be dyed. They are white lace flats that are all man made materials and her gown is a Champaign color with multi-colored hand embroidery along the bottom hem. We just want the shoes to not look so bright white.

I went through the FAQ's found some good info on dying with tea or coffee, which was what I was thinking on doing. Has anyone here ever dyed shoes at home? If so, do you have any good tips?

Thanks bunches!

First of all I'd like to thank you guys very much for helping me out with my last question about setting up an online shop. There were some really helpful links which I appreciate!

BUT I have another question! Not about shops but, yeah, does anyone here do any felting/fulling? I was wondering if you know of any helpful books about learning how to do it or which books are your favourites.

I'm in the process of getting a little home-based handgbag business going and having a couple questions I hope you all can answer one or all:

1) How do you price your item? Ex: Cost of material + # hours? Or just cost x 2?

2) How does one go about getting tags for your purses with your label on it? Can you purchase them cheaply or how do make your own?

3) Have you had any luck getting your product in shops? How did you do it? What do you charge wholesale vs. retail?

Thanks a million!

My friends often buy me journals for my birthday. I have no before picture of this journal, but it was a Wizard and Oz themed one. The wire spiral was white, the cover was emrald green with a white trim, and there was a square cut-out in the cover that let you see through to the first page which was the characters skipping down the yellow brick road.

I was more in the mood to write in a more modern journal. Elmers glue, 25 sequins, and gold spraypaint later...

Hello everyone! I need some help.I would like to make a check book cover.Im tired of the plain blue plastic one that my bank gave me.I have my fabric already but im not sure how to go about making it so I can still have use of my checks without fighting with the cover.
I was thinking I could just make a slip for it,but when I thought about it it would be in the way of the checks when I go to use one.I dont mind if it covers the part where I track my checks but I dont want to take the cover off everytime I go to write a check. Is there something Im not thinking about? And I just crazy and over thinking this? Please help.
TY, Nacole in Ga,USA

Well, here's a sample of what I've been working on lately. Take a look and tell me what you think.

I EAT DIRT )

I know the image isn't the best and I know the printing is a little rough, but I thought it was pretty okay for a first try!

Okay, so I'm having a minor to slightly major dilemma.

I've been sewing since I was a kid, but I usually tended to stay away from the sewing machine. Now, I'm starting to realize the blessing and joys of using a sewing machine, but I have a problem. Sewing machines HATE me (with a fiery passion apparantely). I assume that I inherited this problem from my mother since she has the same problem with sewing machines constantly breaking on her.
I'm trying to get into quilting, and it'll be an extremely slow process if I don't get my sewing machine fixed, and I really want to do it myself, I just have no idea what's wrong with it.

The problem! I thought it was the bobbin at first (and at first it was the bobbin). The thread would get stuck between the needle and the bobbin case and it would jam up. So I left the machine alone for a month and just tonight I decided that I would see if I could fix it or something tonight.

It works fine if you just use the needle and run the machine and it's okay if you don't run the machine with thread in the needle. But for some reason, when I put a piece of fabric under the foot and try and actually sew it doesn't work. The needle will go down into the fabric and stop. It won't move an inch, and the hand wheel will just continue to turn with no action seemingly anywhere else in the machine.

I'd take it to a professional to look at, but I really can't spend anymore than $100 right now (newly rented apartment and all the costs that come along with that) and I'm afraid that I'll take it in and have to spend some outrageous costs on it. The same problem worries me with finding a new/used machine for under $100.

What should I do?!?!
