Hey, I'm first time poster :)  I made this purse a while ago out of a pair of old jeans, and finally got the courage to post it.

Ok, I have been sewing like crazy.
So here I have a Pineapple and Leaf ID holder/wallet.

I also made a bunch of cloth menstrual pads for myself and friends.

I'm working on my Halloween costume, and having some issues assembling it. If anyone has tips on either of these questions, I would really appreciate it:

a) When making a round collar or neckline, how can you get it to be perfectly curved? The neck of my dress came out kind of polyhedral.

b) When making a dress, what's the easiest way to sew the top and skirt together? I've never made a dress before, and I'm having issues figuring out the logistics of it.

Also, does spray paint adhere well to styrofoam, or should I put some primer on first?

Sorry for all the questions. If my costume comes out well, I promise I will post plenty of pictures!

kate
kate very much believes that miss havisham was written as a petty insult to her after she continuously refused mr. dickens' offers of marriage - a refusal she says she certainly regrets now. we don't dare tell her he died over a hundred years ago. it is true that we all think she is quite crazy - but we like the wedding cakes she keeps baking.

[ ingrediants: the usual sculpey, paint, ribbon, lace, wire, hair, odds, ends and who knows what ]

I've been crocheting like mad lately, so I thought I'd post some of the FO's. I'll have more to come later on.

This will be cross-posted, so my apologies. At least I'm putting it all behind a cut.

I'm working on a total wardrob re-vamp, I've already got rid of everything I can't diy, and I'm left with a pile of lovely things to chop, lop, and... play with :P

I was wondering if anyone on here has done this before (I'm talking, every item I own will be changed to make it better, so, so many, and I'm giving myself a month to do it as I'm waiting for my overlocker to be fixed and that could take another week) and if so, if you have any photos, stories, advise etc?

Also unlikely, but is anyone here planning on doing something similar, and in which case, would anyone like to e-mail penpal with me to share results and ideas? It would be wonderful to have someone creative to work with!

Also, a quick question: I want to shop up some 100% cotton t.shirts. Will I need to hem these or overlock them or will they not fray?

So being the girlfriend, i started to worry about the boyfriend's quick approaching birthday.
when lo and behold, i came across this quilt on craftgrrl as well
from there, ideas began flying, and wal mart was soon in the picture (hah. i get teased by him about going to wal mart every day. which is a lie)
but yeah, since recently he redid his own myspace (which i usually do for him) and it has an EXTREME running star wars theme...
the quilt i saw. plus star wars. plus a birthday. equals perfect present.
more babble. then pictures )

LOST Knucks

I finally finished my pair of Knucks! I used Black colored Merino wool from knitpicks.com and embroidered the words "LATE" and "FATE" (as seen on Charlie's knuckle bandages in ABC's "LOST").

Hey all!
I've been a sometime poster, but mostly, I just lurk, mainly because I haven't really had time to get pictures of my personal projects taken and uploaded and what have you, but I have a question for all of you, mainly people who use sewing machines.

I head up a Husqvarna sewing machine dealership, (it's one of the ones that are inside of JoAnn's), and I just got back a few hours ago from attending "Sew-Fest 2006", which is a corporate sponsered motivational blahby blah convention type thing. It was alot of fun, but I noticed that there wasn't alot of products geared towards people who are 30 years old, or younger. ( I need to add that I'm 21, and I'm fairly certain I was the youngest person there.) They had a few things, here and there, and they had some really neat things, but if you could have your way, what stuff would you want to see that cater to your age/interest? Talk about anything you want, I would just like some input from you guys.

Like I said, mods, feel free to delete this, but I'm basically reaching out as a sewer, to fellow sewers. I saw some stuff that I adore, but I'm trying to get ideas for what should/could be offered in my store, so I'm not just having a particular age group coming in all the time.

I'm x-posting this to Sew_hip

I've never posted on here before, but I do a lot of art journaling, so I thought I'd give it a go.
