I got an afghan pattern from someone online, but it's in the graph form. As much as I've tried, I just can't get it to work out properly! And yes, I've tried counting and writing it down, but something keeps going WAY wrong. I've even had to replace some of the yarn because it got damaged from ripping it back so often...
If there's anyone out there who can transcribe it into a detailed written (regular) pattern (you know, like sc 40 of color A, change to color B and sc 35, etc.) please let me know. You could email me directly (empressjad@aol.com)and I can send you the pattern I have. I'd be happy to pay for your time if necessary.
And while I'm on the subjuct of crochet goodness, who has a resource for a best way to change colours multiple times? This pattern is a cat sitting in a window with numerous panes, so you have to swtich from the window frame, to background, to frame, to cat, to background, etc. It's a pain. I'm fairly proficient with regular crochet, but these are things I've not done before.

Edit: Thank you! That worked perfectly!

Can anyone please help me with a knitting pattern--

I'm trying to knit the Punisher Skull into a scarf, but I'd like to use a pattern. How can I take an image off my computer and supplant it into a knit graph sheet without hand drawing it?

 HALLOWEEEEEEEN!

I'll have pictures when I'm done!! Promise!

My boyfriend and I are going to be Woody and Jessie from Toy Story 2. We have a lot of the stuff so far (mine's pretty much together, but we're having some trouble with his.) The shirt is.. well.. a little hard to find.

I was thinking possibly buying a white dress shirt, goldenrodish colored dye, and a red fabric marker. Then, with a yardstick, making the lines. Think that'd work? Also.. we're a little short on money, so can't go buy him boots. We're not going out for too long. Probably only to walk around to see other people's costumes, and then stay at my house and pass out candy. We were going to go to a party but changed our minds. ANYWAY... back on topic here. Boots- how could I make them? Foam? I wanted to get some rain boots and just cover them or paint them, but they're expensive. Like $25 and we don't have that- especially for something he'll wear once.

Suggestions welcome!! =D

So, last night it took us like 2 hours to get ready. PLUS the time it took spray paint Dave's suit and bleach and dye his hair. And yes.... I said spray paint Dave's suit! I dyed the damn 4 times and it turned nothing more than lavender. So, as a last ditch effort, I was desperate and spray painted it! 3 cans of spray paint later... it still isn't perfect, but meh! It did the job! So, yeah... I worked all day yesterday to finish my neck piece and finish his costume. *sigh*

Anyways.... I know you guys are all dying to see us! haha

For your viewing pleasure............. )

Okay, so this summer/fall, I went to the local Ren-fest and got this really nice set consisting of an earwrap and earring. I was determined to figure out how to make it, since I had gotten one similar to it years ago and had the same wish.

Well folks, I figured it out!

Edited to add requested image of how the earwraps are worn

Behold! The third pair that I've completed! )

I have wire to make both gold and silver, although I prefer silver. Now that I've got the technique down, I'm focusing on different looks. Before I didn't have the chains in, but I found that they helped keep the sections closer together and not shoving each other apart toward the top (where it connects to the wrap or the earring wire).

So, what do you all think?

x-posted to my personal journal.

I just wanted to thank everyone for always being so nice in this community. It's hard to find communities where someone isn't constantly trying to fight about something, or put someone down to make themselves look better.
It's nice to be able to go to a community where everyone updates so frequent and we can all share our stuff with each other!

I've been trying to use up all of the yarn I have so I have an excuse to go out and buy some more. :)

I need helpppp. This is my first time posting here, but I've been lurking for awhile.

Anyhow; Halloween is very soon and I left this awfully last minute, but oh well. This is the costume that has inspired me:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

I can't afford it, because I amm currently without a job, and I just borrowed alot of money from my mom, so she's not in a lending mood, so I think I'm gonna attempt to make it out of the actual twister game. The thing is the mat is made out of a wierd plasticy material, and I don't know what to sew it with. Also, I've never sewn without a pattern, so this might be difficult.

Any advice? help? ideas?

very much appreciated.

I know it's just before Halloween but I'm a bit ahead of myself with diaries for next year.

Sunrise Diary - A5

I designed the pages (which is fine apart from the slightly tedious task of copying out the dates) then printed them out, bound them together and put covers on them.

I really enjoy making books (apart from the stabbing myself with needles and getting covered glue bit) and I've finally cracked corners, they work fine if I don't trim them and use pegs to hold the fabric whilst the glue dries.
