first time poster, long time lurker :)
my dad really loves tommy bahama shirts and, seeing as i don't just have an extra $100 or so to spend this christmas on a shirt, i was hoping to sew one. now, being on the low budget side, anyone know of a FREE pattern online that would help me make a shirt like this? or, at a last resort, an inexpensive pattern? i've really got my heart set on making this, so if it really means spending $15-20 on a pattern.. i might do it... but at a LAST resort!

Hallo again, more progress on my Rosa costume! I've been working on this thing off and on for almost a year, so everything is coming together at once (which is a WONDERFUL feeling, I must say :D)

Shiny! )

And yet another....well...because I like it :)

It reminds me of a stained glass flower....

Okay, I want (NEED) to get my friend a Bedazzler for Christmas. But I have lots of stipulations. I NEED it to be less than $15.00. Shipping isn't an option, I need it to soon. I'd like to not have to drive to far.

So who carries them. Or some sort of knock off of them?

Walmart? Target? I checked both of their websites, and nothing was listed. Would Michale's, or some other crafty wonderland have what I'm looking for??

Thanks for all the help!

xoxo!

Yesterday I was finally R2D2 for Halloween.

The Beginning )

Could've been much better, but I was pretty exhausted and definitely satisfied when countless nerds at 3 separate parties praised the crap out of it.

**cross-posted to a few crafting communities**

Does anyone have any ideas for simple, easy to make Christmas ornaments or other small hanging crafts? I would like to make 50 or more of them to bring to some seniors at a convalescent home. I could pre-cut or punch out or draw certain pieces which I would then bring to a Holiday Crafting party I am hosting mid-December. (Think assembly line!) So if you know anything fun or suitable for this type of thing, please share your ideas and/or links to Web sites. Thanks in advance and have a great day!

I have hit fabric pay dirt. I went to my local goodwill, actually called the "Guardian Angel Thrift"...

and oh man, I really must have a craft guardian angel! )

Hey all
Someone asked about making quick and cheap ornaments to give away. I made these last year but I never posted them and the season is once again upon us.

This is where I learned about gin image transfer onto clay. I have the episode saved on my DVR (like a TiVo).

I can't count the number of times I've gone on a shopping search to find a useful earring holding that would hold more than 2 earrings. When I was getting rid of old picture frames I was struck with the most genius idea ...

The black picture frames cost $2 at Ikea and the plastic grid was bought at Walmart for 97 cents (it's used for cross stiching). I looked online and similar earring holders are being sold for $50. This only cost a few dollers to make and it works so well!!

What do you all think?

This is also my first time posting....

Tehee ~ I was watching House, M.D. and decided to make some little earring studs. What do you think?

This is a long shot but, I want to sew a ferret soft toy for my girlfriend for Christmas (we share a joke about ferrets, and it would be just perfect if I made her one!) but I'm not an expert in sewing toys so I need a pattern - does anyone have a pattern for a soft toy ferret? Or even some similarly shaped animal that I could slightly alter...? I've tried googling it with no luck.
