Hi! I could use all of your help, beautiful crafters! My grandma has a ceramic tree (Fig. A) with little plastic light-charms in them. She keeps losing the lights as the glue loses hold and they fall out. We're wondering what type of place would sell these lights (Fig. B), possibly in varying sizes? THANK YOU!!!

Edit: You are all so wonderful! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Well, I post replies here all the time, so I guess it's about time to show ALL the good stuff I've been making! (tons of pics, not dial-up friendly) Lots of randomness ahead! )
Hope you like! (kinda crossposted to sew_hip)

It isn't officially winter yet, but I thought I'd share the greeting anyway haha. I spent tonight working on graphics and a new layout for my site so I figured why not share a happy little message!

For those who have Macs, is the winter pic too light?
edit: So yes, it's too light! But is it just the text, or is it the little girl and the tracks in the snow that are too light, too?

Thank you all so much for your help!

Here's the revision. Better?

I'll be posting some new stuff soon.

I finished my brother's gift:

No, not a mildly buzzed, tired from playing soccer all day husband... Pierre, Le Squide! )

I decided to make Xmas ornaments for gifts this year. I think I'll be using felt for all of them. I'm thinking themed 4-packs for each person. So far I've only made one, but once I figure out what I'm doing for each friend, I think I'll be able to move faster!

This is for a friend who plays a left-handed fretless bass. I think the other three in his set will be a bass clef, a treble clef and maybe an amp...not sure yet :)

OH! I forgot to mention, when I went to Guardian Angel Thrift and got all of that awesome fabric, I also got all of these TOTALLY AWESOMELY BAD zippers. totally 60's/70's colors. A QUARTER EACH (the 14 inchers were .50c)! WOO HOO! :)

I guess I'm making totes! :D

I am looking for the name of a particular art technique. What do you call it when you use a texturing veneer on a print, be it printed on canvas or quality paper, to make that print appear to be a painted oil or acrylic painting?

Hi - I'm making beaded/charm wine glass identifiers & I don't know what works best as the "ring" to loop the dangly onto the wine stem?

Also: where would you get these/whatever you suggest? Thanks!!

I am, at this point, considering normal wire, but I suspect it isn't as sturdy for constant slipping on & off of the glass as a premade ring of some form would be; however if you know of a tutorial on how to bend wire to make a sturdy "C" shaped ring, that would also solve my dilemma.

Thank you ~

(sort of like these, but with more colorful beads & solid metal charms, not painted:)

I made a stencil in Photoshop out of a favorite photo of me and my daughter and put it on this frame. What do you think?

Yay! )

I've been avoiding university work and making jewellery instead...

My mum complained of not having a nice little purse for going out, so I made her one. I apologize for the extraordinary badness of the photos, my webcam is horrible, but my camera has decided to no longer function.

going out tonight? )
There is a tiny problem (not visible) I didn't notice until it was too late, but there's some dents in the vinyl, I guess from my fingernails when I was pulling it. It's not visible when it's closed, but does anyone have any idea how I can get it flattened? (aside from having my very large cat sleep on it, which he has decided to do)?
