First attempt at making a stuffed anything with felt. I'm pretty ok with how it came out. It's all hand sewn so imperfections are expected. It's a family joke involving a huge blob caused by a blocked tear duct on my mom's face, we nicknamed him Bob the Boil.

Ornaments

Hello all. Happy Holidays to you all.

I just finished up assistant directing a production of Little Women. I really wanted to give them all something but didn't have a lot of money or time to shop. Our scripts had to be shredded after the production as part of our contract, so I decided to use the shredded bits.

They were very popular gifts and many of the actors pulled the ornament apart to see what lines I chose. Good thing I didn't put in glitter like I thought about. The lettering looks flat where it was lying against the glass of my scanner, but it has since poofed out again.

These are a few of the new wallets I made. I don't know if I like the skull wallet better with or without the X on the back with the swirl.

oh so many more this way... )

My mother got me a subscription to Martha Stewart. Not sure what that's all about.. but I did see there was a cute birdfeeder made of finials and wood. Unfortunately, all our wood goes into the wood stove.. so I updated the birdfeeder a wee bit. )

my husband eats TONS of apples so I always buy a five pound bag. Somehow between his/my consumption and a pie or two there are always some left over. So I figure in the winter, the birds will get some. There are birdfeeders with peanut butter and suet around the back for protein in the winter months.

So...I made these ) I wanted to maybe use them as danglies on earrings/necklaces and whatnot. The problem is, I don't like the cardboard they're on, but I didn't have anything else to make them with. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to maybe cover that? I was thinking about seeing if I could find some metal rings that would fit them, and then place them inside ? [If you know what I'm talking about.] They're the exact same size as a dime.

Anyone have any suggestions?

other stuff. :) )

They're not as good as half of the jewelry posted on here...But I enjoyed making them. :)

I'm looking for teddy bear patterns and soft doll patterns online. I'm hoping to try my hand at both, so any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

I got all the gifts that had to be mailed out yesterday! This is one of the gifts. For my sister, a Barnes & Nobel gift card. I bought an old encyclopedia and hollowed out the center to put the gift card in. The book had an old poloroid picture in it of 5 old-ish people sitting on a couch, circa 1970's. It looked like it could be some of our relatives so I left it in the book! Then I made a gift bag by cutting the front and back off of a paper bag then sewing them back together, with straps made from the sides of the bag and I cut up a real B&N bag and sewed it onto the front and put some glitter and confetti behind it. I punched 2 holes in the top of the bag and tied a ribbon through it (after I took the pictures). Ho-Ho-Ho )

My question: We bought a Slipknot DVD for my daughters boyfriend. I usually give DVD's with popcorn, candy, soda but I don't think this is that kind of DVD. What should I give with it? Or what would be a creative way to wrap it?

Sooo I'm etching glass for the first time! My question is, can I scrape used Armour Etch back into the jar to reuse later? In other words, can the liquid's caustic properties get "used up?" Perhaps I'm being cheap, but that little bottle was pretty expensive. Any help would be appreciated.

And so this isn't just text, behind the cut are some pix of a Meatwad keychain I made for my brother :D

Look at the way he rolls )

i finally got around to making a felt baby book. the idea came from all the posts in this community and, of course, the helpful how to.

everyone should look up "felt baby book" in the faq/memories section of this community. that's where my ideas came from.

so here's my creation!

So, the day I took my last final I went straight to A.C. Moore and walked around for a while, trying to find supplies for a holiday project/gift for my boyfriend.

I noticed that they had unfinished wooden "decorative" paddles... LOL. But I decided that should wait for another special occasion. I settled on making him a t-shirt. I only had short of ten bucks, so I got one textile marker and a blank Hanes shirt. Sooo... )

"Squirrels will eat anything if you pay them enough." --D.R.S t-shirt modeled by my boyfriend. Note how he is pointing to it to make sure you know where the shirt is. (Sorry 'bout the wrinklage)

Also, for anyone that has an AC Moore near them--every week they put a 40% off coupon online. Just Google "ac moore coupon" and it'll take you straight to it.

Anyone take advantage of the lifetime subsciption deal from Readymade? Has it kicked in yet?
I ordered one for me and one for a Christmas gift. They seem to have a lot going on over there, moving offices and such. I finally got a hold of a real live person last week to give my cc # to, and I've still not been charged on my cc. Hoping it's really going to come through, or else I look like schmuck on Christmas.
Just wondering...
