I went through the memories and I still need some help. I got my boyfriend Philly Eagles tickets for christmas. It's a surprise and I need some way to give them to him without spending a lot of money. I was thinking maybe a cute homemade book with a pocket holding the tickets at the end? Or maybe just a pop-up card with the tickets? I have no idea really, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dec. 23rd, 2006 12:08 pmso last night at work, my co workers kinda sprung onme that we all exchange on christmas eve, and well i wouldve felt very weird getting gifts if i wasnt giving any back. so, i figured i would go out and grab some giftcards, you know a last minute easy to do thing. so i was wondering, what are some neat and cool ideas to wrap, disguise, carry, and give away giftcards? if theres a memory or this is in the faq somewhere, please lead the way :) thank you!
help with image transfers?
Dec. 23rd, 2006 12:41 pmHello, new to the group with a quick question...
Does anyone here have experience making an image transfer using a xerox of a picture and gel medium? and so as not to be confused this is for an art piece not a t shirt.
I did this once before a few years ago but I cant seem to get it to work, I may be missing something.
From what I've been able to find online and what seems to attest to my small memory of the process, I applied the medium to the back of the picture as soon as it was xeroxed, then I let each layer dry before applying another coating. this seemed to work, but when I wet the paper to try to remove the image it deteroriated.
Does anyone have any ideas? I've already googled this.
Also if you have other image transferring techniques i'm ALL EARS. My main thing is that I want the image to appear translucent since i want something to appear underneath it on my finished piece.
THANKS! :-)

Sushi toys for cats. Made from felt, stuffed with cotton and catnip. Roughly life-sized (chopsticks for scale). It's really darling when your cat carries around his little sushi pal.

buttonhole help
Dec. 23rd, 2006 07:57 pmI'm finishing a Christmas gift and was about to make a buttonhole but I can't find the owner's manual for the machine anywhere and it's been a while since I've done it the last time.. I have a Brother XL-5020, and it has a buttonhole foot where you put the button in and it's supposed to make the buttonhole the right size.
I have selected the buttonhole feature and the buttonhole stitch length, but it just keeps sewing on the same spot. If I make it go back a little first and then forward, it sews the right side of the buttonhole correctly, but then it starts sewing on the same spot again when it's at the end of the buttonhole. So do you know how I could get it sew the ends and the left side, too?
I'm getting a little nervous with this because there's not much time left.. I'd be so grateful if you guys could help me.

Dec. 23rd, 2006 08:34 pmAny good lighting alternatives for photography? I can't really afford to buy all kinds of studio lighting (unless you guys have any ideas on making my own alternatives -- umbrella lights seem possible?) and my friends have been begging to model some necklaces and pins that I make. Some of them make shirts that they've asked me to photograph, also.
Sorry if this is insanely vague, but I hope some of you have some good ideas for me!
By the way, the photos would be very minimal. Them standing in front of solid backgrounds, with the light focusing on them and the products. I really have no good spots in my house to use natural sunlight, so I'll need lamps and all that.
Thank you so much!

Cute Gift Card Packaging
Dec. 23rd, 2006 09:42 pmI got my mom four gift cards from a spa and wanted to give them to her in a nice little package. The spa would have sold me a box for an additional ten dollars. Lol. Riiiight. So I came up with ( this. )
