A year or so ago I spilled Mod Podge on my carpet. I tried to clean it up when it happened, but I didn't do a very good job. It hardened and collected all the gray dirt in the room.

So...I've been living with this hardened gray splotch for so long that I became very used to it and kind of forgot it was there - until I was informed a few days ago we will be moving and the house is now up for sale and a realtor is coming to take pictures on Monday and What Am I Going To Do About The Mod Podge Splodge?

If anyone has any ideas, no matter how insane or outlandish, on how to remove year-old hardened mod podge from a carpet I am willing to try anything. ANYTHING. Except replacing the carpet.

Thank you!

how can i properly add holes to a belt that is too large? i could obviously just scissor-me out a hole but i don't want to do a shoddy job that will ruin the belt. mum says there's a special tool that cuts holes & applies a little metal ring to it in the one go - do they exist?

thank you, best wishes

PS- it's just like, cotton or some fabric like that, rofl.

For Christmas I made my boyfriend some shirts. I sewed the seams and serged everything. Problem is he already has popped a couple of seams. They have not broken through the serged threads but through the normal straight line sewing machine stitches. I used Guttermann thread on the sewing machine (and factory left overs for the serger). I thought Guttermann was good thread...? Why are they breaking? there is no way for me to use cone threads (the factory left overs) on my sewing machine and I don't know what else to do. I want to make him some more shirts but I don't want to keep having to make repairs.

edit: a few people have suggested that I am using the wrong stitch. Apparently for stretchier fabrics I should be using a zigzag of some sort. Now that it has been mentioned to me I seem to remember reading this somewhere as well. I am going to try this next time. If anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to leave them also :o)

This is my first time posting here. I have been a lurker for a while.
I made the hand bags for my mother and sister in-laws for christmas this year. The skirt I made for work. I love it my friend found it in a fabric store she worked at. It's tiny ravens all over it.

hi guys- thanks for your assistance on my previous entry about adding holes to my belt. i was able to purchase for around $3 a cheap sort of eyelet set thingy. i got to use a hammer and vent my "need to smash things" urges to cut the holes in the fabric and to add the eyelet thingies, rather than use a less archaic plier... thingy.

anyway, i'm just kind of getting into the whole crafting way-of-life, and here's what i've been up to:

the awesome nintendo ds lite case a lá some clever girl on craftster:

and more recently, a little pencil case or pouch for my ds games:

hello.

recently i acquired lots of felt scraps and ended up making little handsewn felt animals to give away to people. i don't sew all that well, but felt is rather forgiving even when my stitches are stupid and ugly on the inside.

here are two randomly made rabbits for your amusement. )

i tend to be of the opinion that the best soft toys should not have arms or legs. they become especially cute when they are pathetic and helpless, reduced to rolling about like one big giant stump.
