These are coasters I made using perler beads. I wrote up a kind of half hearted Mario Bros Perler Bead tutorial.

- What kind of fabric would you use as a stabilizer in a handbag? I want something light, and not too hard to sew through. Should I just use a few layers of white cotton fabric?

- What kind of materials do you make multiple- use patterns out of? I thought of using paper, but if I'm getting multiple uses out of it, it's probably going to get ripped rather easily. Would a clear shower curtain work for this purpose? Any other ideas?

And for your troubles, here's pictures of a small handbag I made while watching really bad tv last night. Oh yeah, and some jewelry I made a few days ago!

Ok I got this as a gift last year...  I noticed that the cap started to come loose, and now I am wondering....  Can I replace whatever fluid is inside?  Does anyone know what they use?  It is smells like some sort of oil...  But I am not sure!  I have lost a bit of the fluid, and now I don't feel that there is enough in the capsule.  I am going to hot glue it shut once I figure out...  Here is a pic of it I am quite sure a lot of you have seen these!

Lots of finished projects here! I included small images, but you can click them to see the larger ones in my Flickr. Everything's stashbusting, too. Yes, I've got a big ol' stash of yarn.

Valentine Paper Globes Valentine Paper Globes

#08 / Valentine Paper Globes
I made paper globes to decorate the apartment for Valentine's Day.

Lucky 13 Scarf

#09 / Lucky 13 Scarf
I knit kpixie.com's Lucky 13 scarf using Paton's Classic Wool Merino in a lovely shade of green. I'm planning to give this to Miho Hatori as a gift. I'm seeing her perform on February 13th! I am totally excited; she's my favorite music artist ever and I wanted to knit something for her. ^_^ I'm such a fangirl!

Crocheted Mary Janes

#10 / Crocheted Mary Janes
Yet another pair of crocheted Mary Janes. I used the remaining Paton's wool (from the Lucky 13 scarf) to make these slippers for myself. Soooo cozy!

Tawashi

#11 / Tawashi
Tawashi is a Japanese scrub made of acrylic yarn used for scrubbing dishes. I made these following this Tawashi pattern.

Crochet Sushi TP Cover

#12 / Crochet Sushi TP Cover
And lastly, a Sushi TP Cover from CrochetMe magazine, which I made for a swap.

After my daughter was done playing with the Sculpey I picked up a ball of scrap pieces, rolled the colors together, and let the swirls guide me as this form emerged:

The other side is a merry-go-round horsie )

I used no tools other than my fingers and a toothpick for the eyes, so I am surprised by how sweet he turned out. I don't know what to do with him, though, and the last thing that I need is more stuff. He's only about an inch or so tall. As a workhorse he could be a chopstick holder, or...

Would you like to have him? If so, then claim him in the comments, email me your address, and he's yours.

PS Here's my daughter making herself a set of toys based on the film version of Chicken Little )

Hey everyone,
I didn't see anything in the memories and I was just wondering, have any of you ever made anything out of an old license plate? What can be done with them that doesn't require a huge amount of crafting skill? I'm up for any ideas. Thanks!

Does anyone know of any more affordable places to find glass glitter?

a few months ago I posted asking for help with bleaching out a stencil for my friend who I wanted to give a "masculine" wicked (the musical) hoodie to...I finally got around to it, and I'm pretty excited about it! overall, it was a learning experience, but I'm pleased.

I actually hate this picture of it because the flash made the bleach look much more significant than it is. The one where I'm wearing it is more realistic. Also, please ignore my ridiculous face.

I plan on doing some glass etching tomorrow, but I'm tired of the plain white frosty look.  Is it possible to mix some glass paint that I already have (or any other type of paint) with the etching goop to make it coloured?  Has anyone tried this?  How does it turn out?  TIA!
