I have a large bolt of cloth (pic here if anyone's interested) & dreams of making my very own kimono
Unfortunatly, what I don't have is a pattern nor much money (I've checked my local fabric land, but I couldn't find anything even close to a kimono pattern)

Does anyone know of any place online I could get a pattern either free or cheap?

Also, if anyone's made a kimono & has any advice, I'd love to hear it ;D

Does anyone know of a way to paint glass black (one side of a reptile tank) so that it won't scratch off, and will block light?

Hi, I'm new...

So I had a lot of shirts I wasn't wearing anymore, but I couldn't bear to part with them either. Look at the comfy quilt! )

Hi all!

I was wondering if any of you had any good links to doll clothes, patterns then. I want to sew more clothes for my girl's dolls and teddies. I can knit some up without pattern, but when it comes to sewing I want it to be quicker, and although I have knowledge of constructing patterns, I don't have time and just wish to print 'em out :-)

Thanks

I had these Vans knockoffs, and didn't like the fact that they were so white...

I have never worked with fabric paint before, and I am also not much of an artist, but I still feel that they are better than they were before...  I still have to do a bit of tidying up on them too.... Question: Should I apply some sort of sealant on them or is the fabric paint enough?

Unfortunately, I made the gap between the boards for the front cover and spine too wide, which meant a stress tear when I worked in the lining. So I patched it with the glitter vinyl -- which immediately peeled up and left the edges yucky and sticky. *sigh*

At least I got some good photos out of it. It's so heartbreaking not to be able to salvage something!

row of buttons

i have a ton of hemp stuff left over from my hippie days
(which really aren't all that behind me).

i think it's high time i show them off a little.

this is one of my very most favorites.
the buttons are genuine shell (mother of pearl and black lip, alternating)
and were a bit uncooperative with the macrame, but i think it looks lovely.

Alright, so my Dearest's birthday is fast approaching (the 20th), and I'd love to make him something warm and special. He's always loved the Ninja Turtles, so I thought about doing a Leonardo (his favourite) hoodie. In theory, it would look like this )

The idea is to have the front tummy piece, something to look like a shell in the back (but not stick up or anything), and to have the wrist bands and some sort of headband.

Any ideas on what fabric/material to use for the chest piece and the shell? I'm daunted!

I have a few questions.  I have a $50 GC and I want to spend it on beads, where do you think I can get the most for my $$?
Also, a while back, I saw an ad for a pair of crimping pliers that made the crimps perfectly rounded, and they looked like a little silver bead...anyone know what I'm talking about, or where to lead me??  I want to get into Chain Malle, does anyone know any good books on that also? And LASTLY, are there any other ACTIVE beading communities on LJ? Or even message boards?? I would REALLY appreciate any help/suggestions :)

I know this isnt really crfty but I am thinking of selling my digital and traditional artworks as prints. To be perfectly honest I have no idea where to start i have been viewing many peoples art and there prints and many people use Glicee Prints but the prices are so absurdly expensive and I am getting so confused with all the ratios, When my image is at 1000px it ruins the whole picture.
Anyway so does anyone have any tips on what to do and what sites to get them printed at (preferably Uk based sites which have a wide range of paper variety!).
