So heres the deal. I'm in a baking competition at the end of March, and we have to bring EVERYTHING we need. This includes a mixer. Rather than user the schools, I want to bring my own, and I want to put flames on it and write "The Destroyer" on the base. The thing is though, I want it to be something that I can later remove because I plan on having this mixer with me for a long long time, and I'm not entirely sure I won't regret pimping out my mixer later on. What would you use for this? Keep in mind it has to be OK to be around food and stuff. (like it can't come off very easily, that type of stuff)

SO I am trying to make more bags for the vagina monologues and I need ideas. My delima is that I ran out of transfer sheets (which is what I was using). I have some craft paint, but only in a few colors (white, blue, 3 shades of green, yellow, purple, peach, and black), and not much skill. I tried to paint last night but didn't like how it turned out.

I also have some felt but again only in random colors left over from other projects. (light blue, dark blue, purple, white, pink, yellow, orange, black, brown i think)

I was thinking I might make a stamp or stencil but all I have is carboard lol.
Do you think I can pull it off? any other ideas?

Has to be vag related (or clit or whatever)

and so this isn't all text..Checkbook covers! )

It's been a LONG LONG time since I posted anything. But never you worry, I haven't been TOTALLY inactive. I've got some stuff to show.

I unfortunatly did not take pictures of most of my crafted christmas prezzies. I crafted almost all of them, but Christmas was looming so close, I just had to move right on to the next one and I finished them all seriously just minutes before I had to give them away, so no time to photograph. But I made a massive amount of christmas stockings, only one of which I am going to post here, because I only remembered to photograph one.

Let's see if I remember how to do this...

Did it work? IMG HEAVY )

Every year I try to do some sort of craft with the kids (ages 4 and almost 2) for Valentine's Day to send to family members. This year we tried a variety of painting techniques - my son liked to call them experiments. We painted using soap bubbles, rolling around marbles/golf balls, and blowing paint with straws. I then took the various paintings and cut them into hearts and used them for our Valentine's Day cards. So all of us contributed to the card. We also created some bookmarks.

Here is a shot with all 10 cards we made.

So I'm a bit of a lurker, although i had to take the posts off my friends list because i couldn't find the posts from the people i know in the sea of craftiness, but ANYWAY i have great faith in the collective abilities of this community.

I want to make something close to this ) dress. i fell in love with it, but it's uber extremely expensive. i also need to save up and get some fabric, but before i spend the money and dive in, does anyone have any tips, ideas, pointers? What kind of fabric would work best? Which parts will be really hard? What should I pay closest attention to?

Thanks guys! Problem solved :o)

I'm planning on knitting this scarf by knitting in the round on 4mm circular needles. The pattern calls for me to slip a stitch marker onto the needle to mark the start of the round, which is fine, apart from the fact that they're so hard to find in the UK!

I've looked in some local yarn shops, and on UK-based online stores, and nowhere has these circular stitch markers! US-based sites have countless ones, but it'd cost me a fair bit to have them sent over here.

I've found a small selection on eBay in the UK, but they seem so expensive for what they are. I'll buy them if I have to, but I'm just puzzled as to why they're so hard to find over here whereas from what I've seen they come in such wonderful designs and prices in the US.

Now, a proper question: Should I be looking for 5mm markers, as I'm using 4mm needles, or should I go bigger? I've not used them before so I'm not sure what kind of size I should be looking for.

Thanks for your help guys!

EDIT: Would I be as well to just buy a bag of jump rings off of eBay and just slip one of them onto my needle? They're so much cheaper than actual stitch markers. Again, what size should I get for 4mm needles?

I finished making these pendants the other day.  Made out of fuses, wire and beads.

I made this bag from some tshirts I got at a convention. It's perfect for holding my knitting. I wrote up a tutorial on how to make this bag.

The side says "will blog for gas money", if you can't read it.

I just started with resin, I was sanding the resin pendant and it got all foggy and scratched. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
