Today, I fell in love with this bathing suit:

I usually only wear 2-pieces, tried this on for fun, and absolutely loved it. It was the most comfortable thing I've ever worn and so much more flattering than I expected a one-piece to be. The only problem? There's no padding in the top whatsoever, and it's like nipple city. It's not terribly indecent. I almost considered buying it anyway, because it was so inexpensive. However, I remembered how cold swimming pools are and ultimately put it back. It pained me to put it back.

I got to thinking when I came home that perhaps I could fix it somehow. Most bikini tops have those stretchy tan fabric pockets with removable cups, and I was thinking maybe I could recreate that? I thought I could sew on some sort of similar fabric to the inside and put the removable cups from another bathing suit in it. I'm worried about the stretchiness of the bathing suit, though. The website says it's 84% nylon, 16% spandex, with polyester lining. (Although the lining must be very, very thin.) I would want the stitching to be as hidden as possible and don't know how the stretchy fabric would react to being sewn in the first place.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to go about this? Or totally new/better ideas? Basically, I would love to be able to wear it but don't want to end up ruining it in the process. Should I just invest in pasties? ^_^

Thank you in advance!

Here is a ton of charm jewelry I've been working on lately. Some of it I am very unsure of. I've been in a funk and I can't tell if I'm doing good work or not. Let me know your thoughts, please.

A few of the leather masks I finished up yesterday. Free form cut from vegtan leather wet-molded. Hand tinted with acrylic gouache and protected with a polymer finish. Elastic band is attached with small beads so it can be adjusted for a personal fit.

I'm taking a knitting class (I'm yarn challenged) and for our first 'real' project, we're supposed to make a dishcloth, primarily because it's the best way to 'learn' how to read a pattern.

I went out looking for a pattern, and there are alot of nice ones out there.. but I wanted something a little untraditional. So far I've found a cute Alien Washcloth pattern, and there's a cute M&M pattern..

so I figured I'd ASK THE EXPERTS.

Anyone know of any slightly more new millenium patterns? *not that theres anything wrong with a turkey or a heart pattern*

Where do you have your dyes made at? I can handle the rest DIY style on my own, but something tells me that's a bit out of my league!

I've been rather inspired lately to beautify some boring shoes.

First, I'd like to paint an old pair of Chuck's. My initial instinct is to use acrylic paint. But, will it flake off? Crackle? Is there a more efficient way to do this? I've also got some paint markers but I'm not sure if they'll cover; my shoes are navy blue.

Second, I want to make some Dorothy slippers. Do you think it would be effective to just cover the shoes in glue then sprinkle the glitter on? Should I seal them with something like Modge Podge?

Thanks in advance!

This seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to do, and looks great! I'm going to try this with some magazines tonight.

Don't know how appropriate this is, buuut I trust you guys more than people from a group i just clicked around to find, and hadn't gotten to know yet.

I have a project for one of my classes: We have to take one picture per day, for 30 days, and make some sort of photo book or presentation. I know that I want to hand-bind a book to make it super impressive (hehe), buut I don't know exactly how to interperet the theme: My relationship to the environment.

Thanks in advance for any ideas! :)

I can't wait for spring. I'm tired of the snow...So, in honor of spring coming soon, I had to make springy/colorful jewelry. :D
